I've been overwhelmed by the page counts of even Newbie games, so I just figured that page count was a non-factor in the site and I had to just suck it up and deal with having a small brain. I was told by the guy who got me into Mafia that the long Day periods were an advantage instead of a detriment, because that meant that you didn't have to be there constantly...but the site meta is hyperposting = town, lurkers = scum, and the newbie queue hates it when you try to end early. I think I'm actually more mad at myself for invoking "lurking = scum" and "go all the way to deadline" than the site meta perverse incentives themselves, tbh. I just hate knowing that I've betrayed my principles so easily.
