If nobody's in the role because of a replacement issue, nothing we decide in thread will matter.
Well, maybe he could send his night choice in advance. I don't see why the mod wouldn't allow that
If somebody replaces Megatron, they can use their own judgment.
True, but they wouldn't have the benefit of other's opinions when making his or her choice
Stop fishing.
Huh? I don't understand this at all. How can you fish in this gameā€¦

@Claus: Pug =/= PBug
This is confusing me too
Hope this explains it for you shaft.ed and NabNab.

I have started to be a little more aggressive as of late, as I have come to be more aware of the fact that if I am lynched it will be revealed that I am pro-town, if this is what you mean, but I don't really see the changer as that drastic.
Sorry this was my bad memory. I thought you had pushed back against two "bandwagons" but it turns out you were only against Megatron. My mistake.

In other news has anyone accusing Winter of lurking noticed he doesn't really post much on site? Does this making lurking a valid tell?

He isn't so much as straight up lurking as actively lurking, which is a legitimate scumtell IMO.

@Alabaska: You were fishing for concrete information on how roles would act even after we decided that decisions like that were to be left up to individuals.

Right now, the night is a big soup of WIFOM. If we attempt to benefit each other by giving opinions, they will just be drowned in the soup. If we act with a level of certainty sufficient to cut through* that WIFOM (like sending choices in advance), it will only benefit the scum. We like our WIFOM soup the way it is, don't fish in it.

Unvote

*Yes, I know this clashes horribly with the soup metapohor, but as an action which benefits the scum, it can fall outside the bounds of an essentially townie metahpor.

Despite the mixed metaphor, I'm going to have to agree with this sentiment. Maybe I have a more selfish reason (I've got nothing to do tonight so all night action discussion leaves me more or less in the cold), but I don't think the scum deserve any more information on what's happening tonight then they've already got.

If Winter hasn't been posting in his other games, I think this makes the "active lurking" tell a lot less viable. Lurking isn't a tremendously good tell to start with, adding in that he seems to be away from the site entirely and... well, it becomes much too easy to chalk it up to "real life getting in the way".

I have a question for Claus, but I'll wait until his next post so as to make it easier to answer for him.

I'd like to know why, too. When it comes to lurking as a scumtell I believe in an innocent-until-proven-guilty approach. If he isn't posting, prod/replace him. If he picks up a prod but continues to avoid posting (or something to that effect - another example would be to continually promise analyses without delivering),
then
can he be said to truly be lurking.

At such an early stage of the game I don't think it's really something that can be looked at in any great detail. It obviously won't help him later in the game, depending on a couple of factors (the extent of the absence being one), but at this point I don't think lurking is something that should be taken too seriously - certainly not to the extent that it should be setting off your scumdar "like crazy".

Fewer Scumtells

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't posted in this thread in a few days. I'm not sure if I buy the Winter wagon. Going over his post history, he hardly ever posts in any of his games. Not only that, he has been posting A LOT more in this game than in most of his games. I think iamausername made a good point about how Winter was using his double vote, and that's a legit reason for voting him. However, the lurking is a crap argument.

I really don't like how Alabaska keeps pushing this horrible argument either. I know I was defending him earlier, but I don't like his last few posts.

This is crap. As I and Rishi have already pointed out you can't using lurking as a scumtell for a guy that is not on site.

I'm getting a townie vibe from Claus. I don't think scum would go through the trouble of trying to point out there suspicions as he just did.

I'm leaning Alabaska at this point, though I really don't want to. He basically makes me NK immune as long as he has two lives, and "lynching" him will give us no alignment information today.

Why is Pug on your list? A lack of contribution?

Now that I think about it, actually, Pug hasn't posted since Monday.
