Oh, I must have skimmed some of their posts. Never mind. I completely misinterpreted something. I assumed the executives were scum and the lower level employees were town.

But it seems like KMFS is town and Big Business is scum.

I never watched it but it makes sense now.

What are your thoughts on how Anatole's role ties into being an SK? If he can make kills even without the camera, why would it be mentioned in his role PM?

My PM does not imply it is a one-shot thing, but since items can apparently be broken and given away, etc., I might wager that it's probably only going to work once.

Anatole, paraphrase your entire role PM please in your own words. You may have already done it before but I haven't looked through your entire ISO yet.

I'm not seeing why a town vig would have a strongman kill in this setup. The only "bulletproof" player is IHNC who was town. It makes much more sense if holding an item activates a mafia strong kill.

Maybe I'm being biased but every way I look at the setup, Anatole's role doesn't make sense as town.

Yeah - I've played with you and mara (and ceph as part of a hydra I think) and know what you guys look like as town from Timeshift. Ironically, in that game Mara was what she is calling FourT scum for - reactive, passive. That caught me off guard and is giving me a gut scum read for that hydra.

VOTE: Baboon Pride

I really don't like this read for a couple of reasons:

His reasoning for reading Mara as scum was super weak and he immediately backs off once Bork pushes him on it.

Everyone that's played with Mara before felt that she was town and she seemed to be manipulating her meta and Anatole's scumread feels more like an informed bus.

This is a pretty damn early scumread on Mara whose play wasn't all that different from Timeshift and if anything was even more pro-active and aggressive here. The townread on us based off of Tammy's posting is more understandable but I don't really follow what similarities Anatole is seeing between Tammy's play here versus Timeshift.

This read is a pretty huge stretch. "
Mara was passive as town in Timeshift but is calling FT scum here for being passive, therefore Mara is scum.
" I'm not going to deconstruct why this logic fails since Bork already ripped it apart but it looks worse upon Mara's scumflip.

Anatole Kuragin wrote:ISO Ms. Marangal in that game, ISO your posts in this game. Completely different tonally.

I have a hard time buying that Anatole is such an amazing scumhunter that he so easily found "tonal" differences between Timeshift and this one and is pushing the Mara read with so confidence when people with much more extensive experience with Mara were hesitating and townreading her. This is not to put down Anatole's scumhunting abilities but rather to point out that scum often find their buddies scummier than normal and newer scum tend to distance in a ploy for towncred - often with poor logic and overt certainty, more than what is normal.

I thought you were town reading four trouble?

I never liked the case on him - the only person I have a solid townread on is you.

(sorry, I'm mostly VLA on the weekends)

The incredibly solid townread and lack of paranoia about Tammy again points to possible scum who feels like they *have* to read Tammy and Mara correctly having played a past game with them.

: I hate the way that Anatole is presenting Mara’s meta. The point he’s been making is that Mara is pushing FT for something that is both 1) untrue and 2) something that Mara did herself when town (debatable) and more importantly is AWARE she did when town (I’d hazard to even say doubtful). I’ve asked for some elaboration and he came back with ‘well she bickered with Mollie the whole time [and other people thought that (irrelevant)]' but you see absolutely no hints of that in what she’s doing here with FT? Isn’t what she is actually doing compared to her meta much more relevant to the discussion than the secondary argument about what she is or is not aware of in her own meta?

I think you missed my point. It's not that she's aware of anything that's significant - it's that she's fabricating reasons to find guilt and it's obviously disingenuous because the attitude she found suspicious and ascribed guilt to is the same attitude she had as town. I'll defer to Tammy if she disagrees that there is a disconnect here and in timeshift, but it's something that stuck out to me early on.

Why would you "defer" this read to Tammy though? You've both played that game with Mara.

There is a segment of the game that I haven't read. I checked out sometime midway through D1 when ika's spam got the better of me and returned D2 because I needed to play solo and have been following the game in real time since then.

I'm surprised. I'm reading Timeshift and I think Tammy mentions that your break from mafia precedes her which implied a lot more experience.

I played two games in 2008 - in both I vig'd townies and was immediately nightkilled or lynched. I then stopped playing until I think April of this year.

I say it presumably goes through protection because, to avoid quoting, my role implies that nothing short of divine intervention can stop it.

in my town games you will find me either aggressively pursuing lynches on townies or trying to lurk until something pings me hard

there are more examples of the former, which is why I'm trying to play a little more cautiously

Vote Count 3.2

The lawyer lit some incense that was conveniently on a shelf, 'Do you ever feel like...someone is watching us?'

Of course, no one would hear his words.

Something about the way Anatole tried to tell Bork that we'd lose if he is lynched and to back off but hadn't addressed my concerns until I brought it up worried me especially since I'm confirmed town and I expect he'd spend more time convincing me than Bork when I expressed suspicion of him.
