Because once they claimed an important character, it made it fairly obvious they weren't actually a PGO, and that their role was probably important enough to be worth killing (since it was important enough to fake claim PGO)?

Fwiw I THINK that ascetic still counts as receiving an action, just that the action fails.

A role attempting to target an Ascetic should be seen doing so by Trackers and Motion Detectors. Investigative roles (Cops, Role Cops, Watchers, etc) should receive "no result" if attempting to investigate an Ascetic role.
