In reading nacho, I have to keep in mind that I have a fear/bias about mislynching town-him that seems to outweigh fear of not lynching scum-him on a minute-to-minute, day-to-day basis. When I'm unsure, it's a decision I put off hoping for more data.

Up until this game day, that has been a factor. The main reason I wouldn't call him scum was what I've said a couple times. I think if he were scum he'd put more effort into looking town and doing town stuff. Paradoxical.

After our interactions this weekend, I still feel there's something missing, but maybe it would only come out in his play en extremis right now. Not going to say specifically what I'm not seeing because I am hoping this game is another data point indicating I have made some good adjustments in how I read him. And I don't want the magic missing thing(s) to start showing up in games because I'm expecting it.

I think you underestimate this as a trend. I've been noticing in meta dives and in newbie games that more and more, scum players are "townslipping" about being ignorant of known data. Town still townslips, but I'm not weighing that sort of thing as heavily as I once did. I've seen towns lose for it, including my towns.
