Ok, I can completely understand this, and sort of agree. I’m not willing to check him off my list of scum just yet, however I don’t feel like this warrants full on investigation. He hasn’t really been pinging on my scumdar, but I can understand how one would find this scummy. I’ll definitely keep my eye on him though.

I feel PersonalIdiot04 is just jumping on a wagon he thinks will lead to a lynch. He comes up with a 'report' with no evidence to back up any of the 'reports' he made. Is his vote on Voided atm? Most likely.

So far through the game, he hasn't been contributing as much and hasn't been scumhunting imo, just jumping on Voided's wagon and using the same reason that others gave.

I really am not getting a scum read from PI. He’s a newbie, like me, and I can understand how his thoughts might have been disjointed. I’m not very good at putting the puzzle pieces together yet, and I imagine he’s not either. And that being said, this being my first game, I’m kinda following others’ leads as well, while still trying to formulate my own opinions. It’s tough, so I can totally understand where he’s coming from.

Oswald needs to both A) explain his unvote, and B.) Reply to my reply against his "case" on me.

Cj, Grimm (though I suppose mostly to Grimm): Do you still see me as scum? If so, why? If not, why is your vote on me still?

I’ve explained my thoughts as to why I think you’re scum. And yes, you can turn around as many times as you would like and attempt to say “I hate QLs,” but that can easily be seen as backpeddling, which is how I see it. I don’t really have a firm scumread on anyone else, so I feel my vote is still placed on the most appropriate person.

I've seen pretty much the same arguments rehashed again and again against me, and at least one part of it has been shot so many times, it's not funny anymore.

I have yet to see how you have appropriately “shot down” any arguments.

I could say the entire thing is shot, but that'd be too pretentious of me. But seriously, nearly everyone against me is either using shot-down arguments, overused arguments, or have absolutely no reasoning at all for suspecting me. Please give something else to further your case, and presumably unvote if you cannot, and give suspicions of everyone else as well as reasons why. Even if the reason's as flmsy as, well, fish, it's better than no reasoning at all.

Hmm, this almost sounds even more scummy to me. “Since the arguments you have been using I “shot down” by simply saying “no, I hate QLs” or the arguments are overused, because god knows using the SAME argument against me as someone else is foolish, or has no reasoning what so ever, though they’re actually using arguments that others have used, is NO reason to suspect me. Because the fact that it would sound hypocritical to go "I HATE WAITING I WANT QUICKLYNCHES!" and then backtrack by saying "I HATE QUICKLYNCHES" would negate that line of thinking. From one standpoint, it does look scummy, but why would I do something intentionally scummy like that?

OK, now THIS is a prime reason that we should lynch Voidedmafia. He attacks at least one newbie (me), and just generally sounds like a d*****bag. I don't think that many townies would ever do things like this.

Ok, I can understand how you would think this, but my boyfriend, for example, acts like a douche sometimes in game when he’s town. That’s just his playstyle. Or, it could very well be that Void is tired of waiting for actual evidence and has gotten frustrated. I think he's wrong about douchebaggery being a scum tell in Voided's case; that said, PersonalIdiot's reaction kind of makes me think he actually BELIEVES in what he's saying, which is a slight town tell in my eyes.

sanchocolates: I agree, my case is probably fairly weak. But, I believe that these small slips are enough to add up to a D1 lynch of Voided. It's little things like these and others that help to maximize the potential of a scum being lynched on D1 - it's pretty rare to actually catch a Mafia member on the first day due to the lack of role flips and the like.
I will happily support a Voidedmafia lynch, but would like to see him post to confirm that he isn't a Power Role, and to offer something of a defense-ish form.

Which leads me to PI04. I believe he's done... 3 completely different Town/Scum read posts. It looks to me like a Newbie scum doing one of bussing and un-bussing, then being told of a bit by a scumbuddy and choosing the other one. If this is right... I'd be wary of sanchocolates (post #175).

PI, minor words of encouragement: This is my first game as well, and I too feel a little in over my head, but if I were to replace out right now, then when I did get into a new game, I would still feel over my head in the next game. As far as I’m concerned, it’s better to continue to play, see where it goes, and after game over, discuss with other players how I played, that way I can get the feedback, and next game, I’ll know what to do better. Keep at it, buddy.

IMO, the more likely scenario is that cj was just trying to be extremely opportunistic.

This very well could be true, however as cj is SE (I think), he would know how to apply the chainsaw defense appropriately, sorta. Anyway, I could see how scum would bus his scumbuddy, and then switch his attack to his scumbuddy’s attacker. That would make sense in my eyes. I too would like to see Oswald claim. I’ll be willing to hammer, since Oswald was one of my scum suspects anyway. And his random popping in and voting/unvoting is getting very annoying since he’s not posting any reasoning whatsoever.

If you're town and cjdrum is scum like I suspect, it's possible that he thought the tide might have been shifting against you. Think about what was happening at the time: a bunch of us were pressing you to give reasons for stuff and such; maybe he thought a wagon might have formed on you in a short time so that by FoS-ing you, he was laying the groundwork down for a smooth transition on to you.

I'm trying to figure out why PI would hammer Oswald without a claim or even a sound argument to back up his vote (at first I was so blinded by the hammer I missed the lack of justification). The thing is, I refuse to believe it was simply a n00bish mistake since A) Incognito had already said repeatedly that you shouldn't claim unless someone was willing to hammer you, therefore the expectation of a claim before hammering was actually brought up in the thread, and b) PI had stated he was reading the wiki and if had read on the chainsaw defense then I can assume he would have read not to hammer before a claim. I refuse to buy any ignorance based excuse on this one. I look forward to actually hearing why you did that PI.

Legitimately, why did you choose to vote for Oswald knowing that it was the hammer. i realize his actions weren't exactly helpful but if you're going to claim to be that swayed by your emotions then you're going to have to explain why. Most likely because the the person both the mafia and doctor selected (for there'd HAVE to be a doctor barring the mafia somehow forgetting to send in their kill) was the same.
