Thanks for your patience with me this weekend, I had two game days, one of which was with a visiting mafiascummer from out of town. :) On to lynching!

Welcome aboard, Brian Skies and Bins!

Brian Skies
, there was a lot in your initial posting, some of which seemed like questions directed at me, and some of which seemed like monologuing speculation. I'm making this assessment partly on what seems to be a hostile approach towards me in Post 280, and a less hostile take in Post 294. I may be wrong in some of this assessment. (I also see some disagreement over playstyle and opening with questions over votes, and I can get into that if you want, but would prefer not to.) I'll answer what seem to be the only direct question below, but please let me know if there's anything further you want me to comment on.

Thesp wrote:I continue to think TheGottemer is likely to be town.

Why?

His posting seems far more genuine to me than the rest of you in the game. I can go into further detail if you like, but I'm pretty solidly against a TheGottemer lynch.

Bins wrote:At this moment, do you have any strong town or scum reads other than the obvious?

I'm not sure what you mean by "other than the obvious". I put Honey bee and TheGottemer in "likely to be town" status, and several players (including Cheery Dog, yourself, and now Brian Skies) in the "not interested in lynching today" pile. BoroPhil, Boonskiies, and Jake from State Farm are in the "want to face murder" pile.

Honey bee wrote:Thesp: Are you saying that flames faked v/la? Do scum really do that on this site? Idk.. That seems rude to assume.. I mean I don't always have time to play this game, and I'm sure others do too.

It's awkward either way. I can imagine a scenario where Flames682 sees another player post V/LA in advance of the upcoming holiday, and wants to use it as an excuse to lay low for the first part of the game. If no other player had done it, I wouldn't be skeptical, but how closely he followed TheGottemer on this was weird to me. This is a bit further advanced by placing the third vote with no explanation on a burgeoning bandwagon before absconding, and posting the V/LA notice right as things were beginning to heat up between Jake from State Farm and myself. The fact that he never actually returns makes me more skeptical of all this, though. And with Brian Skies entrance, I'm comfortable enough with his play that I'm not interested in lynching that slot - if he's scum, we'll figure that out in time. I think there are better lynches right now.

(And to be clear - I know that sometimes we don't have time to play, and that's okay. It''s nice to check in every day if possible, but as noticed I'm generally unavailable on weekends, and I hope people are understanding of that. I had no problem with TheGottemer's V/LA.
How
Flames682 did his rubbed me the wrong way.)

I don't think Jake from State Farm is going to be lynched today, and at this point I'm not sure I want him lynched over either of BoroPhil or Boonskiies.

UNVOTE: Jake from State Farm
VOTE: BoroPhil

I don't like his actively refusing to contribute to the game, and in the last page when he has contributed, I'm extraordinarily uncomfortable with how wishy-washy it is. I also really, really don't like this:

What do you think it was telling of? (This is like pulling teeth.)

well I thought it was pretty obvious from the post where I quoted the reactions...but scum would use my 'I exist' post as an excuse to vote for me. If you were town, you'd be exasperated by it, yes, but you would think 'probably town'.

what scum motivation is there to post 'I exist' ?

This is a textbook case of Wine in Front of Me,
especially
since there's not a
town
motivation to make such a post, either. It's absurd to deliberately act anti-town, then try to call out people for voting for you. (Likewise, it's an ideal way for scum to try to defend an obviously anti-town play and is detrimental to scum-hunting.) It does feel very similar to the game Jake from State Farm linked to, and I'm not convinced Day 2 will be any better.

I could be persuaded to move to Boonskiies (as I'm not sure Day 2 will be any better from him, either), but I'm happiest with a BoroPhil lynch.

but there is a town motivation when it is part of a reaction test?

actually, you know what.

I'm surrounded by idiots and I have no interest in this game.

Thesp's reason makes no sense, the gottemer was lurking, and jake is dropped outta the radar during all this crap.

oh sure, the person who was claiming thesp was scummy for trying to get a hammer without a claim is suddenly ok with it?

Ok? Town doesn't put themselves at l-1 and if he didn't see the unvote he probably thought he was hammering.

my work here is done.

sorry for not being more apparently useful - but I'm sure you'll lynch jake and or thesp very soon.

remember - it's very rare that town IC or SEs survive very long from NKs.

Are you town? if you are town you should give us all your reads.

is a good starting point. cheery and you look town.

jake must be scum for his tunnel vision. if not he's a moron, so you are in trouble either way.

can't believe thesp could be as stupid to post if he is town

Brian? who knows.

everyone else in the middle

having said, that boonskies :D

IQ in this game is probably about 30.

if someone tells you it is a reaction test, maybe you should consider it?
