I don't see how someone could have a townread on Mac. Tere, you related it to Pokemon but Mac's posting in pokemon was a little quiet until the game picked off. I don't see a post you could have used to relate the two games together yet.

I probably worded stuff badly, I don't think I would put Mac as a townread yet, precisely - I know his scum game is good so he's policy neutral naughty step for me. But the flow of his scum game is good and I don't think the posts Shakira is poking at (92 and 93? Sorry tabletting is hard) are awkward caught scum. I think he was just making a joke. Looks like similar humour to scumboard in Pokemon for me.

Wouldn't string him up for it today, anyway.

I have noted your how to read Titus post in Mafia Discussion and will be referring back to that I am sure. Just link me a town game where you feel you were playing fairly normally? Were you town in DOA for example? I'd prefer just to have a look for myself outside the thread rather than gumming it up with meta.

It is just visually helpful. Sometimes I get the reads connected with an avi esp when reading on phone

his early game posts and commitment felt like he is trying to appear to be doing something. But in reality he didnt try to cause discussions and/or analyse it. It felt as if he is trying to just "do something" and was closer to active lurking than participation. It was a form of how scum play early game. (While most of town is trying to get information he is just stalling there)

As for mine, try Uncouth Mafia. It is one of my better town games.

I like it. Pretty good reason. I feel I did a bit more than just actively lurk(pretty sure challenging shakira over their case on mac was me actively participating in a discussion and analyzing how someone else reacted to it), but I can understand how someone would get that impression. I actually just hate early game because it's a bunch of ignorant people trying to convince one another that they're actually not ignorant. Early game play (generally) only gains relevance in the context of mid-late game knowledge, in my opinion.

I actually wasn't frustrated with a Shakira lynch, although I do feel like Shakira's case on Mac is town confirmation biasing, rather than scum manipulation. I just wanted to know why the people who were on that wagon were on it. I wanted to see if they were going to say "RVS" "Sheeping x who I think is town" "Biggest wagon" or actually give a reason based on their limited exposure to the slots posts in this game. Of course, nobody actually responded.

I don't really understand why people even bother thinking about reads that they can't explain. If you can't explain your read, then it's not going to actually convince anyone else, and is thus useless(assuming VT, of course). You should be paying equal attention to EVERYONE, so it isn't even like being suspicious of someone is doing anything positive for the town, it's just making you more likely to tunnel and take things out of context because of your bias.

I absolutely disagree. Mentioning reads you can't explain allows for transparency and thought. Metal thinks you are looking like scum caught for the wrong reasons.

Perhaps frustrated is the wrong word but you didn't want votes to stay on Shakira because she would become the inevitable lynch?

If we all know nothing, why were you scared? Doubly so because the first RVS wagon is rarely the wagon that goes to lynch.

Ftr 194 has emotion behind it. It's not logical, if we all know nothing, to fear a lynch by #194 unless that wagon is on you.

Not wanting votes to stay on shakira wasn't actually the point...I just wanted to hear people say why they're voting shakira.

And, yes, I suppose mentioning reads you can't explain puts you on the record as being for or against someone at a certain point in time, but what else does it do? Give someone else a reason to ask you: Why do you feel this way about some person? I suppose that's good, in that it encourages participation by others and shows everyone what they're interested in hearing about. Alright, so, mentioning reads you can't explain is reasonable, sure. Keeping reads you can't explain in the forefront of your mind I don't see as useful.
