does anyone know who commands the shots around on this site?
well anyway i was wondering if you could take the option of hiding ur viewing of the forum because its annoying when u dont know if people are lurking or if there just not there. well hope to hear back

mith is in charge, most of the day-to-day running is done by other people, though (Mr. Flay is the most visible member of the people with super access to everything, and the list mods like singersigner handle most of the moderation that can be done without needing such drastic powers).
And yes, there's an option to hide the fact you're viewing forums from other people, although I can't offhand remember where it is. Try looking through the options in your profile again.

I think what he was asking was that option to be removed.

You could post in the Site Ideas section, but I highly doubt it will be removed. Strategic lurking would be destroyed, and it's a valid tactic.

I appreciate where you are coming from, the Godfather, but if people couldn't invisibly lurk signed in, they just wouldn't sign in.

Hello everyone! This looks like a fun game to play. Is there any other information I should add here? I read the OP's post.

That's all you need to join the queue. You will be assigned into a game in the next few days; after that, your game moderator will send you a PM related to the game.

Thanks Zaicon! Two questions if anyone doesn't mind: How do you edit? And do I have to explicitly state that I'm willing to be a replacement to be called in as one?

You cannot edit in any way other than doubleposting. As for replacements, pm the mod of the game that you want to replace in.

Okay, thank you Wisdom. I'll have to be careful with how or what I post then.

Doubleposting to edit is
really common
on this forum, so you shouldn't be ashamed of it, and nobody will shout at you for doing it (unless you make like ten posts in a row). When playing Mafia, it's important that people can't change the history of what they've said, and the queue uses the same rules so that singersigner doesn't miss an edit.

When you edit by double post, by the way, it is common to say "EBWOP" at the beginning of your post, meaning "Edit by Way of Post"

Yeah, I can see how that makes sense. This looks like a pen and paper sort of game, where you have to go ahead and judge based on actions and what people say. So, if they could change what they say then you'd have to examine not only what they said, but also what changes they made and why. That would be a serious pain. The only problem that I have with it (and the only reason I asked) is because I like to fix my grammatical errors.
P.S. Thank you for telling me it's not taboo to double post. I'll take that into consideration while playing.

Roughly how long is the time in between newbie games starting?
Posted: Sun Jan 20, 2013 7:34 am
by Rob14
@TheGodfather:
Please only post /in once. You already have posted /in multiple times and someone already told you that you were already counted.
Additionally, IIRC you replaced into Newbie 1319, which is your second newbie game. You'll be able to /in to another newbie game as an SE after both of your newbie games are completed entirely (meaning the game is entirely over).
Until then, you can sign up for games in any of the other queues. Off the top of my head, Mini Normal is waiting on two more people to launch another game.
@HadMatter:
Typically there are ~2 weeks between groups of newbie games being started. Normally 2-4 newbie games are launched at once, because that's easier for the listmod to do. It's been nearly 2 weeks since the last games launched, so I would expect more to be up very shortly. Thanks for your patience!

Newbie 1320 needs TWO replacements -- Day One, 15 pages. They are both newbie slots, so anyone can replace, except a new player in their first game. PM me to skip the queue and grab this slot!
