god holy fuck I felt so sure about this before but now I just have this sick gross feeling that he just tried to sort me in the most half-assed way possible and that despite that and his play the rest of the game being as bad and defensive and deflective as it has been he's going to somehow be town.

fuck these dance games, they always do this to me.

can you remind me of why you had a town read on him outside of recent pages?

he was mostly null for ages, then when he posted more he showed consistent effort to gamesolve and sort slots in a way that makes perfect sense to me (it really does feel like he's reading my mind at some points).
he's posted pro-town information that only helps town, i mentioned this earlier.
he's garnered a lot of scumreads on shaky reasoning which makes me feel like there might be some scum in the background pulling strings. i do not understand any of the criticism his play has gotten, except maybe for his laziness earlier on which was NAI at best.
recent pages is what really solidified it to lock town.

this definitely is not a town tell. I feel mostly sure he would have talked about it the exact same way as scum since it's very easy for scum to genuinely discuss theory and how frustrating and awful it'd be if people were to go against the correct theory play.

if I was to town read him, it'd probably be on the basis of your third point - all the attention he's attracted - but I just don't even know because I don't think Kagami is scum and I really just don't think mariar looks like scum, so I don't know what scum would be designating this except if I have him and Dunn backwards and Dunn is scum.

I choose to believe that somebody like Smith would choose to not mention suiciding being a ~very bad thing~ and instead hope that townies do it themselves.
You can't say he's just doing it for towncred because nobody except me is townreading him for it, and I feel like scumSmith would have some of his buddies pointing this out in the same way I am now, and they probably would have done it fifty pages ago.

Mariar is absolutely scummy and Dunn might be scum.
BTW, we really need to lynch shadow/mariar, in case I haven't said it enough \o/

I don't really think it's a towncred thing or a positional thing, I think if he's scum he's mostly just latched onto it as an easy talking point because it's something he would have thought as town.

Well, we disagree. That's why I townread Smith, though.
It's surely more than an 'easy talking point' though, considering how much the knowledge helps town.
He's done more than just 'latch on' to it as well, it's a point he's been driving pretty strongly and consistently from word go.

They have literally never voted and have made no meaningful contributions to the game, stating no real stances against or for any wagons except "n-no, shadow and mariar are town...' early in the game. Really weak play so far. Why are people townreading this?
If jester flips scum, we lynch this after shadow/mariar because of the obvious distancing earlier in the game.

You two flipping t/t is absolutely possible, and jester is absolutely scummier than you. But as I've said obviously not enough times, shadow/mariar is the lynch here and this is a compromise. How did yo miss that? It was basically the ONLY thing discussed pre-dance, besides all the pushing to get shadow left behind.

I might be onboard, simply because I don't get how one generates 3418 without having a good reason to think there's exactly one scum lady.

I'm not gamethrowing by self-voting. Do you know why? Because if really ~everybody in the game has a scum read of some sort on either of us, we'd have been lynched by now. The only reason we aren't is because the mafia are saving us as a backup lynch option when they run out of mislynches. I want to throw a spanner in the works of that.
