This game is wack.

We have Therapy Sessions with Dr. Pooky

We have Tanner doing his best Ted Stryker impression (drinking problem)

We have Chara and Prism PDAing more than two theater kids

We have Lavender, who now has a cult built around them despite being a spectator

We had some dude pretending to be a puppy

We had another dude who was way too old to pretend to be a cat/weeb but does it anyway

And then we have Hectic and Krazy stuck in here with us

Like I pushed tanner for pushing puppy yesterday because I didn't really think he had a very townie case at the time, and so obviously I was wrong there but I kinda feel like that doesn't make tanner more town. Instead I feel like I was just catching Tanner for distancing Puppy because the distancing wasn't convincing and I hadn't processed that Puppy was also scum yet. In that game I got pushed a lot for accusing Dannflor because people didn't like my case but I eventually managed to get townread for it. Which is kinda what I'm saying--I feel like Tanner is playing this game in pretty much the exact manner I would be doing so if I was scum
i'm running out of... words? discussion.... juice? brain empty for the night.
but i think... i mean, i think i agree in the first place that the case itself wasn't convincing. yes.

i've got nothing right now, sorry. but i do remember thinking that the timing of Tanner telling everyone about the autoloss scenario, and then Puppy coming in and slowrolling his own vote... is that what you were talking about when you said Tanner was fearmongering? i feel like their respective actions there speaks more to a disconnect than a connection.
don't quote me on it, i suddenly feel spent. i'll try and remind myself to think about this again tomorrow.

kinda but not exactly. I still think that with four people able to log on for the hammer kinda made it seem alarmist, but I don't really want to get into that since prism has discussed that tayl0r and lavender both could have been plausibly been offline for the night and I had vocally opposed the tayl0r wagon. I guess I'd say I can see how that's not necessarily fear-mongering but I still don't agree with townbinning him off it when it could still be a political play. I mean he doesn't even need to ever unvote there if he is scum. so he draws attention to it, gets towncred, and then if no one logs on he still gets the win.

you can talk to me more about the disconnect you feel there, though. I've kinda worried that my read is a bit inelegant. so I guess, if there is a disconnect there, are you sure it's a disconnect that is town-indicative?

it could be political... but god, Tanner resisting the urge to simply Not Post, and let town destroy itself, and instead go for the towncred of calling attention to it when, yes, two votes were needed to avoid autoloss and only four hours were left in the day at a usually low-traffic time? it doesn't seem alarmist to me, in fact Prism's reaction is about the level of what mine would have been.

as for the disconnect: i think it's a case of it not being scum-indicative, more than town indicative. it makes me feel like a Tanner/Puppy team weren't coordinated on that instant win scenario.
it literally just occurred to me now that Puppy might have been lying about not noticing that part of the rules, when in fact Tanner had informed him already.... but there's no evidence of that, it's just a thought.
it doesn't feel like Puppy and Tanner were constructing a gamestate together, is the point i was trying to point. that there were better avenues if the idea was to maximize Tanner's towncred.
ugh, i feel like there's something here i'd be better suited to examine tomorrow instead of now. but it's nice to hang out.

yeah I can see that, but remember I'm responding to the point that prism was making that that moment should be townclearing for tanner. I'm not saying he's tanner for that, I'm saying that there are problems with hard towning him there. I agree with you there could be scenarios in a scum!tanner world where he's simply uncoordinated with puppy

also, fair. alarmist/fear-mongering was probably too strong a word. I think for me a big part of it is just looking at the way he's leveraging those things today that make me suspect. The comments themselves at end of day 2 are I think in and of themselves 'townie' -- but trying to insist you're locktown on it and then pushing a bad case makes me revisit the 'townie' action and feel like it could have simply been the 'safe play'

or maybe I'm just omgusing too hard with my head up my ass

I almost wish this game could never end and we could just chat away all the troubles and enjoy laughter and happiness together.
Our hostess is lovely and I couldn't ask for a better group of friends to play this game with.
I didn't know most of you coming into this game but I appreciate all of you very much :)

In post 3426, Chara wrote:so i take it Pooky can be generally self-sacrificial as town? it might unfortunately be NAI if it's something he does as town and then tries to use to his advantage as scum.
It's not really about self-sacrifice for me.

I only really do this in games I genuinely deeply care about, and this is one of them.

Once I get committed to a game, my level of commitment really only increases.

Would it be painful for me to be mis-elim'd here? Yes absolutely - I've put a lot more of myself into this game than I was really planning to because I really like the Mod and the Setup, it's something elegant and beautiful to me and I'm absolutely a perfectionist when it comes to things like this.

However the town is in a great position, we can miss 2 mis-elims in a row and be in an F5 with 2 PubCops and 2 chances to find 1 scum in 3 players. (raw odds is about 24% victory probability)

What I would feel awful about is if I end up eliming Hectic and he flips green. That would be beyond devastating to me because he's a great player and what if it was me being a re-re that caused him to read me wrong? What if Hectic would've found the real murderer if I was not here distracting him with my constant neediness? That would be awful and I'd be truly gamethrowing if I allowed that to happen.

But there's another scenario I fear worse than this - that's if we don't elim me or Hectic and we get to a point where it's LYLO or close to LYLO and it's between me and Hectic with the game on the line.

That would require me to commit to levels to this game I simply do not feel comfortable doing and it would be absolutely devastating to me if we get to that point and he MLs me for the win - then the burden for the loss would feel very heavy and I'm not sure I would like that.

I think the talk about me vs hectic has been too distracting for a lot of people - I truly hope he's good here and I'm just being an idiot and we find the scum somewhere else.
Fair enough. There's a lot of heart in this post. ;'(

In post 3429, Tanner wrote:you're saying scum-you would go over all of the rules carefully during n2? and not miss the n4-is-skipped? (i'm aware this might be a dumb and/or pointless question but)
In general I think building a case around the idea someone didn't read the rules before deciding to no kill is a great way to throw a game lol

like Datisi

do you want

to case me

based on the idea

I either didn't read the rules

or couldn't understand the rules

is that like, a real argument, you actually want to make in this game?
Clearly someone missed that sentence of the setup where it says "The night kill is skipped on N4." You have been around for less long than all of us. It's not as far-fetched as you make it sound.

People have actually been missing stuff about the setup pretty consistently. For example, Hectic missed that Not Chara doesn't suicide if there's a spared townie. Again, just a little line in the setup that is easy to miss.
Spoiler: Prism post

In post 3450, Chara wrote:i kind of glazed over it the first time but yeah, i don't understand what you're arguing in the quoted portion. why would it be towny if you gave up your puppy push? it wouldn't be. why would it be scummy if you stayed tunneled on... scum that would win us the game if he were eliminated?
I think what he's getting at that is that in another world where he sticks to his guns, he'd wind up being scumread for distancing.

Krazy posed the following ideas for sorting between a Day 2 distance and a Day 2 townpush on scum:

A) If X starts the day pushing Y-scum, but later backs off: X is scummy (D2 distance)
B) If X starts the day pushing Y-scum, and sticks to it and tries to build a wagon: X is towny (D2 legit push)

Krazy says Tanner fits into A.

Tanner is responding by proposing a new principle, which one might use to justify Tanner-scum iin a world in which he stuck to the Puppy push. This principle is:

1) In light of realizing a fight is a deadend (ie. will not happen), it is towny to look elsewhere for other appealing options.
(Conversely, it is scummy not to)

Applying 1) to Tanner's actual dayplay, we have:

A) If Tanner starts the day pushing Puppy-scum, but backs off when he realizes it is not viable and looks for somewhere people might agree: Tanner is towny (Day 2 legit push)
B) If Tanner starts the day pushing Puppy-scum, but continues even when he realizes it is not viable and does not look elsewhere: Tanner is scummy (Day 2 distancing)

The point being, here he's scummy for backing off when it wasn't happening. But someone might scumread him had he stuck to it, because it blatantly wasn't happening. Damned if he did, damned if he didn't.
Thank u for this

I think it is 100% correct that Puppy was NEVER happening D2. Had Tanner just vanity pushed Puppy for the whole day, that would be kind of odd. So that's my opinion on that

i'm pretty sure 4 fights are optimal in every single scenario now. day 2 is definitely a fight day to either win or get Not Chara flipped. since the "if mafia is spared, they win if both of them survive Day 5" clause in 1-3 is now pointless, sparing on day 3/4 is just setting off those executes for later... while losing 2 public cops. i can crunch the numbers later if anyone is that interested in it, but i'm pretty sure fighting is the way.
This wouldn't really make sense though, your argument would be that 4 fights is obviously objectively correct, also scum bussed for credit so they could play better in an inferior position. Why would scum bus at all?

I think it's more realistic that scum didn't bus, or at least didn't push the wagon until it was too late. In that case, sparing is a decent move because we'd save two townreads and still get a copcheck for it. 2 + 1 > > 2
yes, i realized it wouldn't make sense because "wait a minute, fighting is clearly optimal, nobody is gonna enter day 2 asking for spares!"

...except then you did exactly that.

i am 99.99% sure that genocide is the superior option as i was thinking about it earlier but now it's past midnight and my math brain is closed.

. The only issues are that he gave beeboy a chance to post content and said the wagon was a bit too fast. Somebody call 911 on him. He also shuts down the Tayl0r vote so unless this it's Tayl0r/Tanner ???

I feel like if there's a deepscum it's one of those two but at this point there might not even be one. I just feel bad for still being cautious of Pooky for his early game despite obvious strong play.
am i insane? am i seriously crazy for thinking that the pretty much only wagon on day one, a deadline consolidation with no serious counters and almost no resistance (and the late counters/resistance coming from me/catboi, so confirmed town to me) flipping scum, in a game where a day one scumflip is so damaging to scum, that wagon flipping scum is at least a little bit concerning? like just a tiny bit of a possibility of some 9000 iq theatre bus happening?

also i'm finding it p funny that scum!me would be classified as deepscum in this game.
In post 1294, Prism wrote:Tanner-can you talk more about your Puppy vote? I remember liking a lot of their interactions with Elements in hindsight. I also really don't see the point in pushing for a spare from them unless it is exactly Puppy+Chara...which I find really unlikely.

sure. i was already of the thought that "this game is either really easy or there's something concerning going on." and puppy's posts from - just... creeped me out, i dunno, they feel like they belong in the latter gamestate. i wanted to see if he got better, and... he didn't? like i think i'm bringing up a valid concern about the possibility of an *actual* deepscum (though if you feel like i'm not, tell me, because at this point i can't tell myself) and why sparing right now is very dangerous, and i kinda find it odd they didn't interact with it further than "scum wouldn't buss day one, it's silly."

and is also kinda :/ since it was made right after hectic and i were talking and where it seemed i was a viable vote for today...

ok. at first i vaguely liked redtea, and was also half sheeping you/catboi since i was townreading you two and you seemed to have a dope metaread there so whatever, you're probably better at reading them than i am. somewhere along middle/late day one, i was reskimming their iso again, and realized i plainly don't remember why i was so town on them? and after the flip, i decided to at least take a loot at the people off-wagon during the night, and uhhh, redtea wan't *great* (). also obviously not thrilled about suji.

ok posting before this turns into a bigger wall

What do you want to talk about

Ele had a weird push on me that felt forced, chara made a good point about him, I pushed and then he subbed out. I actually feel lucky more than anything, but there's still no way his partners wanted that bus to go through
i don't know what i want to talk about. something that makes me think you're not trying to murder us all, because at this point i'm sounding insane to myself. i guess a good start would be who you're willing to fight today and what is actually your read on me?

why do i feel like something is so very wrong with this (puppy) post... what was your thought process writing this post? especially paired with ?

like i get the feel is the "this is the post i'm going to point at post-townflip to show i wasn't on board with it for townpoints", while feels like shutting down valid reasons by which prism is correctly getting to town!suji... but does that make sense? who is his partner?? am i cherry-picking the most minuscule bullshit??? stay tuned

i'm kinda shoving all of hectic/prism/morning tweet/chara/pooky as "this is most likely town, and even if it's not we're not flipping them today unless something mindblowing happens, so moving on" (yeah, i get it's funny saying that while watching the prism-chara thing brewing, but hey)

which leaves
suji - at the start of day two i pointed out that some of their connections with elements aren't... great, and i've talked about my read progression on redtea at the bottom of . i have never played with suji, but from what i've seen of their play around the site, they're usually not that invested as scum and they often flake? and this game is kinda similar to their scumplay? the issue of "who are they partnered with?" is the only thing bothering me.

lavender - do we need another chapter of tanner ranting about lavender? i kinda wish they were at least, i dunno, trying to interact with me. actually kinda wanna hear what hectic thinks of this slot now. @hectic pls help.

puppy - we also don't need another chapter of this. also i kinda wanna talk to them on the things i brought up recently. will give an update at some point maybe.

taylor - i don't know. they're like. meh. i pretty much don't remember anything they've done.

i spent a good minute trying to figure out who i'm forgetting before realizing it's 10 alive, and 5 townreads + 4 maybe not townreads + me is 10
i'm tired

i literally said what i want from you
i want your scumreads
i want to know who would you like to murder and why you would like to murder them
i need to read ele+puppy iso to make a decision whether that's plausible s/s but i don't want you to case that
who would you like to

?
also i'm not trying to make you scumread me, i'm triyng to sort you by seeing what your read on me is or something like that

hi krazy !! i am glad to see you despite what i'm about to say
i have a bad feeling about that vote on me, not necessarily "this locks krazy as scum" feeling, but rather a "this game is gonna get less pleasant for me" feeling
because i am not in the mood to scream as i fight (haha) my own misfight

also agreed with whoever said that you should probably at least take a look at the wagon or whatever
day one was weird since there was practically no counterwagon to the scumflip

i have no idea what is trying to say

I reread and decided I didn't feel very strongly about it anymore. I was just reacting to what was at the top of the thread. Sorry w/e

Is there a case for lynching anyone or are we going on activity levels and the like? It seems to me like a suji slot lynch is as good as any other, I was just looking for some case to grab me. We nab scum today either way so the votes are just for bragging rights
prism, i think i understand your fixation on chara now because my fucking god i cannot

like this rings so fake because there is so much more to the case on suji other than "lol lurker" and this seems like this is the type of post that's meant to be "defending" a misflip before it happens while not actually trying to persuade anyone from not voting

like it almost feels like purposefully playing dumb?? i dunno???

but suji slot seemed so like scum, but i don't think they're partnered with puppy???? help

I still like Lavender. I like the meta read that she concluded on me, and townreading Launchy for consistently shading/pushing Ele from start to finish is also fair. I mean, I don't expect much from her, but this is more contribution from her than the entirety of Crossfire (where she was town), so the lack is certainly not scum-indicative if that's what you're afraid of.

I have a tinfoil theory that she's an Isis alt who's self-inserted herself as Chara into the game, but I'm still working on formulating this one. Will be back with soemthing more concrete later.
the first paragraph is telling me i'm gonna need to read crossfire
i don't feel like reading crossfire
sigh
later

is that second paragraph joking? i genuinely can't tell
if it's not a joke, i'd be willing to talk about that

i townread tanner because he is pushing stubbornly up in situations that would be easier for town to shirk back from. he's still trying to push a case on me (?) when i'm obvtown (iso my votes on the elements scum wagon from yesterday). is that a "good reason" for you?
my tunneled mind is saying "this is not-chara trying to leave bad associates for me so that i get misfought after they flip"
i understand that might not be rational

Essentially, if Tanner is scum, then he felt the need to fabricate reasons to start scumreading Puppy and get a distance going. Otherwise, the posts are genuine.

Well they don't come off as particularly forced to me. It doesn't come off as showy to me, and I think if it were for show, then Tanner probably would have made a bigger fuss about how scummy Puppy is (and then switched to tayl0r or Lav begrudgingly). Instead Tanner just kind of starts putting Puppy higher without bothering to explain it much

and i get that you find that part scummy so I guess fair enough i suppose. I guess I just don't

Prism is busy looking for a way to kill me without looking too bad because he might be the last bad guy.
Chara is indecisive ~ dunno why.
You're here. Can I help you with anything? :3

i will be amazed if it's Prism. astonished even. like wow. He seemed like he was trapped in hell at several points yesterday, and then he no-kills and condemns himself to an extra day of his own little personal nightmare

and man is he trying hard to win

are you really considering Prism, Pooky?

only because he is considering me.

I went thru that hell yesterday with him and considered him locktown and I don't understand why he'd go through that hell with me and think I'm more scummy than Hectic.
