Not particularly telling...? Dude was on a birthday trip and made a passing comment or two without reading most everything else. I do the same.

Are you kidding? I am willing to elaborate on my arguments, and I know perfectly what Ghostlin is saying. Anyone that tries to convince someone to lynch themselves is just stupid.

In short, he always plays like this. He is extremely analytical.

OH HOW PREDICTABLE. Hahahaha.

None of your original "town feelings" for me had ANYTHING at all to do with Ghostlin, but I was generally received positively so your view was positive too. As soon as you see a foothold, you "worry." You're scum. K. Moving on.

Someone asked me (Demon, I think) why self preservation is scummy. That is like mafia 101. Self preservation has always, and will always, be scummy. Not that town should be leaping on the sword, but there's a different mindset to being town and self preservation isn't part of it.

And as for Demon, your hypocrisy is ridiculous. You want to lynch Beli for acting like he's part of scumhunting when he isn't, and you can't even be arsed to read the game and have the gall to act like you're contributing to scumhunting in any meaningful manner. (Hint: you are not.)

You know how town reads are fluid?

Yeah

I refer to your 194 and 199 mainly - I've already made it clear that I'm only tossing this around as an idea.

I never asked you a single question, but I feel like self preservation is situationally scummy and not in its totality.

If you think about it a bit further (take some time to formulate your thoughts entirely), you are comparing two drastically different gameplays, and harping on my unwillingness to read the game doesn't inch it closer to being synonymous.

Hope I won't have to spell this out for you before you start proceeding with irrelevant arguments.

Of course it's somewhat situational. However, early on day 1 when you're not even close to being a leading wagon is one of those times when it's completely scummy. The time in question, in fact, was what, like page 2? Someone freaking out on page 2 because they might look scummy doesn't scream SCUM to you? Seriously?

And I never said that the two gameplays are SYNONYMOUS, just that refusing to read the game is at least equally as unhelpful as anything you are accusing Belphi of atm.

I happen to have a townread on you, which makes it doubly annoying.

I never questioned or tried to argue about your argument on self preservation - actually, I didn't even know it existed, so I'm not sure why you brought it up to begin with, but I do agree with what you're saying.

Maybe you're misunderstanding my argument on Belis... it's not so much the fact that he's not helpful, but moreso the fact that he's literally taking potshots from the sidelines to look like he's contributing to the conversation when in reality it looks like he's trying to choose his arguments carefully and points out really insignificant things. The fact that he's commented on nothing else but distracting theory re: Matt and has said little else is icing on the cake. Do you agree with what I'm saying about Beli. And what's your read on him?

That was mostly my town read of you. not sure how strongly orcinus agreed. Since then, tbh your posts confuse me. I really can't figure out your approach to this game.

SOMEONE said self preservation isn't scummy (must not have been you, Demon).

I would put Beli on the scum side of null at the moment, and for the reasons you say as opposed to some other arguments brought against him. I wouldn't OPPOSE his lynch, but I wouldn't prefer it over several others.

Selkies, I tend to change my approach to the game with each new game. Sometimes, I play excessively transparently, sometimes not, sometimes in between. I try not to be predictable. Sometimes that leads to bad games but so be it. In this case, I don't think I'm being particularly obtuse.

Well, it's our first game together (the fferyllt half of Selikes, that is) and you've kinda thrown my original calibration.

orcinus and I have ghost and demon as solid town. I am going to try to work outwards from there. And I'm good with our vote being on Beli.

I'll have a go at explaining this again.

Milk is unlikely to flip town, ie is likely to flip scum.

But the way he talks about SoO's vote treats milkshake as town. I have never seen someone call a scum vote a "follow the leader" vote. Later, Ghostlin tries to explain this, iirc, but the original wording still doesn't seem like it's genuinely from a town perspective.

It's like saying "milk is scum, but these people scumfucking onto her wagon are also scum!" It's trying to have your cake and eat it too.

Who does that? Scum.

It's not like that wording CAN'T be explained away, with effort -- Ghostlin is not stupid and would not say something that blatantly contradicts itself. But SUBCONSCIOUSLY, I feel a confliction there.

Except it's not contradictory at all in the mechanics of the game. SOO's vote at the time seemed to either position himself as scum on a wagon to look town--so either a bus or a way to push a lynch you know is safe. Pushing SOO has little to do with Milkshake's actual alignment, which is what I wanted to convey.

You seem to be compounding it with motive that is simply not true. It's not that I don't get it, Amrun, it's that you're assigning shit to me that simply isn't true; is highly frankly subjective, and is couched in your personal tells.

Shit. I don't care if you change your vote, I want you to admit fucking here and now that you have zero actual proof besides arguing over what certain phrases mean, and that's EXACTLY what you've based my case on. Because if there's no possible way to explain myself or provide a defense to my language, I'd like to move on.

MattP's assertation that thinking lying is bad makes someone a moron is ridiculous. But it has been adequately adequately addressed already I think.

Ghostlin still seems a little scummy to me. "I never made a mistake! Your views are subjective!" seems kind of like something scum would say. Town can't feel insecure about what they said being towny. No matter what town says it is "towny" and the people who think otherwise are wrong. Also, all views are subjective at this stage of the game.

That said, something Selkies said has been giving me second thoughts about Ghostlin. I would love to hear a short summary of why Ghostlin is town from Selkies.

To me, Selkies Ghostlin GoodCop_BadCop makes sense as a scum team. But I'm having doubts about the Ghostlin/Selkies interaction being scum/scum.

I feel like a vote change may be coming up from me. Hm.
