I'm going to agree with CDB about setup speculation and claim speculation. It'll sort itself out.
I'd still like to see more from Marquis...
Fegelein, good luck! Hope to see you again some day.

I was really looking forward to playing this game, I read the Harry Potter books more than twice. I'll post in more detail once I catch up but upon a skim, the first thing I noticed was that Stubbs claimed Colin Creevey giving justification as "protecting Harry from accusations." This isn't true. Colin follows Harry around with a camera and takes pictures despite the fact that Harry doesn't want it. He is annoying more than protective. He even gossips about Harry being the heir of slytherin (I need to double check the last point). Whatever he does, there is no "protection" no matter how much I stretch it. I think the claim is fake.

It's what is mentioned in my role pm. To be honest I have no idea who Colin Creevey is. I can't say I remember him from the movies.

he was a teeny lil blond kid that got petrified with his camera in the 2nd movie. Like the rest, he did not actually die because he saw the reflection of the basilisk and not straight on.
Filch's kitty saw it from the water mess on the floor.
Colin his camera.
Justin through nearly headless Nick who was a ghose.
Hermione and the Ravenclaw prefect girl cant remember her name, through a mirror. I do remember Percy was sweet on her.
Filch does seem a tad odd though, he was a rather nasty fellow... Though it really did not show completely til book 5.

Colin as a PR also seems odd too. He was a 1st year and a bit of an annoyance to Harry in book 2.

Thanks for the info Rach. I didn't realize/remember there were so many basilisk interactions. I will have to pay attention next time I watch that movie!

Yeah the more I turn it over the more I think the Creevy claim doesn't fit. Not lynching it today though.

Balance > flavour. Nexus showed in the Philosopher's Stone game that he's not necessarily going to pick the most obvious people in the most obvious roles. JOAT is not a ridiculous claim on its own and it being in the hands of Colin, a less central but nonetheless notable character who played a role in helping Harry overcome the plot, is not inconceivable. Again, I'm not saying it's definitely true, but it checks out as plausible for sure.

2 JOATs though seems rather odd? I have never played in a game with 2 JOATS before have you CDB?

I can't remember if I've played in one before but I'm sure I've seen it (or something very, very similar) done before, and I've
definitely
seen it talked about as a reasonable option. Nexus is not an uncreative mod. Would it be unusual? Of course. Is it inconceivable? Of course not.
Actually, both he and I have definitely played in Greater Idea games at meets in which it was possible for more than one kind of JOAT to be in one game at the same time. It's also not that hard to think about as an idea anyway. I can't claim to be a definitive resource on Nexus's brain but the concept really isn't
that
weird. Take into account the balance of one being stronger in flavour and the other in powers and it fits together fairly well.

Falcon, Colin once directly prevented Harry from dying via his camera.

But how would you balance 2 JOATs they are pretty powerful PRs?
If they both are town then scum must have some serious power going on

by ChannelDelibird
Possibly. But IMO they're not crazy powerful as claimed, a bunch of one-shot abilities. Jason's claimed powers are fairly meh, as well.

How so? Also, the claim mentions "protects from accusations." Does he do that anywhere?

It's confusing, particularly your vote on me which I'm assuming is intended for pressure, but really just looks like scum overdoing it in not wanting to be called out for not putting their money where their mouth is.
In other words, your vote when coupled with a sudden comment on my limited activity, and your question-for-the-sake-of-asking-a-question, are both bullshit, dear.
VOTE: LnGrrrR
Also, feel free to discredit this all as OMGUS as you see fit. Bye.
pedit: Colin just made Harry's life worse, ngl. I'd really see Colin being a negative utility role more than anything, but he claimed he had JOAT powers so that's moot for now.

Do you read Rach as scum?

by fferyllt
No I don't. I thought your rationale post looked good, but you were picking up on stuff that's related to her limitations with the knee injury, and that has affected all her games, not just the town ones.
I wondered if you had changed your mind about her, or if you think LnGrrrR is a more likely lynch candidate.

Yeah, Im fine with thinking that's an OMGUS vote, since that is what it is. And considering you started posting as soon as I voted you tells me that my pressure vote worked.

If you think I am scum, then you wouldn't be assuming that was intended for pressure, you would be assuming it was to put pressure on you for a mislynch. The wording you choose is suspect.
Why is me asking you what you think of the game state a "bullshit" question? Considering you have lurked a great deal, and haven't explained your reads, I think it is a very fair question. The less reads scum put out, the less chance they will get caught in a contradictory stance that can't be explained.
