Flavor

The Hand of the King is the chief advisor to the Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and is the executor of the king's command in the Seven Kingdoms.

Duties of the Hand include commanding the king's armies, drafting laws, dispensing justice, and generally managing the day-to-day running of the kingdom. The Hand may act on the king's behalf when he is indisposed, and sit the Iron Throne while doing so. The Hand also sits on the small council and will run the council if the king is not present.

The office typically makes the Hand the second-most powerful man in the kingdom next to the king, though some Hands have had the reputation of ruling their kings.

It is considered by some to be a difficult and unglamorous job of great responsibility. A popular saying goes, "What the king dreams, the Hand builds," but the lowborn say, "The king eats, and the Hand takes the shit." Many able men have failed in the office throughout history.

Hand of the King

The Hand of the King is Chosen by the King to execute his Will.

They hold the following abilities:

Investigate Loyalty

Once per night you may investigate a player to determine their alignment.

This ability costs [Redacted] Gold Pieces to activate each time.

Member of the Small Council

Has access to Small Council Meetings.

I think Dann is Town btw, and I would vote for them as King. Given some of the intense opposition being expressed here by LLD in particular, I suspect this won’t happen. But I feel compelled to share my view.

DW has almost no AI content outside of distrusting Datisi which isn’t entirely unreasonable but I don’t think I will have any solid thoughts there.

On face everyone will agree a townie needs to be king, but actions aren't lining up with intent. We're on path to select a king from the most active most friendly face, I think, which is likely to be a recipe for disaster.

Don't think I agree that's the path we are on. I appreciate your urgency, but also think you're trying to control the outcome a little bit...plus UNOwen as king seems kind of LOL, frankly.

To be clear. The choice of King or Queen is important. I think the Scum have an important incentive to take control of the role. I think a King or Queen playing optimally should want to devolve power to more players, layered with their own personal views,

Yeah I'm probably leaning Dann right now, LLD feels like she's scum where scum chat went "uhhh andante is universal TR" and LLD came into the thread like "not on my watch!" and uhhh yeah that's kinda my only take away from all the posts between now and when I was last here, also leaning andres town

Right now we're not voting for a player to eliminate them.

We're voting for an, ideally town, player, a town player that essentially gets a free vig shot, potential chance at a bulletproof, and gets to select a counsel which presumably does town things.

If LLD is town, she is the best player for all three of those overall.

^ This one is jst ehh, it was others that caught my eye, but looking at the ISO, this joins the club, it reminds me of when I'm mafia, and I just play the "oh hahaha mech talk yes!" like what kind of question is "do we have to pick king" the post about king literally says we have 7 days to pick a king... this entire game's flovor is based around a king... no way you sat there and actually thought "I wonder if we need a king"

"I'm ok with Damn LLD and Datisi" ok, 3 not super easy people to ready, but yes strong players.. you just wanna throw our first powerful role their way? make them earn it.

Idk, I thought I'd point this out, but after the "oh I can't compete with this PL" I was like, something feels off... I went to the ISO, and yeah Junko really feels like a mafia who doesn't know what to do here, and I mean think about it, mafia is in a chat with 5 of them, now they have to pretend to not know each other? yeah, Junko reads a lot like I feel like I would as scum here.

TLDR: Junko is very likely mafia. and now there's 4 to go. - also I'm not making Junko King.
