A backup and original should share alignments, otherwise it'd give one team a huge advantage if the original dies.

If Cliff did receive fruit, he's confirmed Scum. If he didn't, then he's still scum because he lied about it. Either way, this is caught scum and I have fulfilled my duty (in an even better way, since I caught a scum PR not a Goon)
