When I first started reading I was getting a slight scum feel from

Fizz. Reason was because I felt his posts he was acting like he was over caring what people thought of him.
Right now he's pending because I want him to explain his read list to make sure he isn't just making it up.

Fee's rolefishing and lack of reads overall was a bit scummy to me. Even though he says he receives emails which give notification he's still giving lack of reads until asked too.

I didn't like LS post #236. I think with holding reads to me is scummy. Even if you don't think it's worthwhile it is.

I didn't like Number Six's post regarding to me I'm active lurking. That just pissed me off. Again doesn't necessarily make him a scum read.

I wasn't liking Maj's attitude at first in regards to Aether. I honestly didn't see what he was seeing and I thought he was going overboard. This doesn't necessarily make him a scum read. He just gets put on my "I'm WATCHING you list"

Majiffy, the bolded in that Fe quote is something that I assume was directed at me. I had asked him to post what he had so far. It really looks more like a summary of the game than opinions though.

But I have to disagree, because you're dutifully ignoring the qualifier "If I can't catch up" in Fe's 317. I.e., Fe said he'd replace out if he couldn't catch up, yet you and the rest of them took it as "Omg he's replacing out watta scum."

Mala: If you read through my ISO you can pretty much see the reads I feel strongly about. And it's not a lot, FWIW.

Yeah but the rest of the paragraph references things I've said about his post, which makes me curious if he's intentionally blurring the lines or if he's just completely retarded. Also wrt bold, I know. That's what IIOA means.

Im pretty sure Im not completely retarded and I wasn't intentionally blurring the lines which makes it seems more like your are intentionally restricitng the options to make my seem worse than I am. That isn't necessarily a scummy thing to do, I have done a little digging into his meta and come to the conclusion that this my just be a play style thing, but i oculd be something more.

fe, when majiffy calls you retarded plz don't take it personally. it is what I call "mafia shit talk" and it isn't meant to be insulting per se it is more of a way of just blowing off steam. in my first newb game majiffy called me a cunt several times but for me it made me feel at home cos the site I usually play on there hardly ever a game that goes by where I don't make somebody meltdown and they end up calling me a cunt (a "raging cunt" in the game I just finished up in!) I don't know why this happens I think I am quite likeable. majiffy was in that game too and pretty much everyone insults and trolls each other so he is probably still a bit in that mindset. it is a very rough site but so much fun but to outsiders who don't understand that we are all good friends it may seem a bit...odd.

kmd I have some strong opinions about that word "retarded" and I feel completely opposite than you. I think when you treat the word "retarded" as an insult it is actually insulting to the people who are medically retarded cos it implies that being retarded is a bad thing.

last survivor isn't pinging for me at all but I will read his posts in iso and then go back and read what you said about him and see if I can see where you are coming from. also I understood exactly what fe said. I am still leaning unsure/scummy on him especially with that bs summary where there was very little commitment to any of his reads although I did note that he was trying to throw mud at me but I clean up real purty don't I??? hehe

Since this topic keeps coming up I figured I would comment.

1. Getting a little personal with someone is okay in small doses. It can, in the right situation, get reads that are useful for the game. Basically get someone a little taken aback and maybe post something that could reveal a hand. For scum it could be to find a PR, for town it could be to find scum. Being seen as a "bully" can also help with getting votes on or off a wagon. It is an art, though.

2. That being said, this still is a game, so getting overly and unnecessarily personal is just poor sportsmanship.

Now back to the game. Fe's 361 is just an incoherent data dump. I really really think he is paranoid about posting so just decided to flood a bunch of information with little analysis in hopes that any potential scumtells would not be seen or ignored.

LastSurvivor - I did explain my thoughts in context of the game at the time. His post sounded like a player who was trying to stall having to post substance. If you still don't get it then you probably never will, or are being obtuse.

I don't see it as an Inherently scummy thing to do though. The point is to basically cause scum to slip up and admit to something they didn't mean to, which I think is not a scummy thing to
do at all. Yes its a poor way of doing it but it can work.

Also I would more than happily go toe to toe with you, except that I don't think yours scum so why would I try and get a lynch on you? A bit of a dick, defiantly, buts scum I don't think so.

In terms of my work how exactly does it dismissive itself. How would you go about it differently?

People react differently to pressure and to votes. Fe has not reacted well at all.

That's why my vote is where it is. That's it; it's not rocket science.

#362 Fe, that's a lot of narrative, and while that's "useful", people have already said that's IOA, or Information over Analysis in case you didn't know what the acronym was.

Your ISO hasn't shown any type of picking people out as scummy, nor picking people out as townie.

Argh, just typed up a post and navigated off the reply page and lost it all. Short version (if anyone wants more specifics on post numbers/gap times I can pull them out again), Fe's in that prioritizing defense over scum hunting mode that is very anti-town. Then in looking at the timeline in his ISO's, around #300 he says he's halfway through reading the thread, but his last post reacting to the content of others was #175, implying that it wasn't a matter of catching up. Then it's the last paragraph of his wall:

Town adjusts themselves and I get suspiouns, I would like to know why of all the lurkers N6 thinks I am scum but other than that bork seams to be sheeping n6. Penguin comes and shows not much really. #236 last survivor shows up and starts actively scum hunting, but then holds out his reads, very weird. Then Majifiy starts quoting lyrics, exciting stuff. Uct / KMD possible early bussing attempt? (#246) N6 gets town points for decoding Majiffies post.

that represents what's happened since his last remotely content-containing post (i.e. one that wasn't an activity dodge). It doesn't track that he took all that time to catch up on so little, reading speed aside. Then spending a bunch of posts since the wall arguing minor points and not addressing the overall concern, namely that he's not drawing conclusions. Or posting thoughts on the rest of the game that he purportedly hasn't read yet. It's not the actions of someone wanting to be a helpful townie.

As such, while I still find Nobody Special's shady vote on Kmd4390 in need of further explanation, I'm good to VOTE: Fe

Side note: Fe, if you think Number Six decoding Majiffy's song thing is a town tell, why haven't you moved your vote off him? Not a point in favor of you putting much stock in your own musings there.

Looks like the backup mod is V/LA for Thanksgiving. Later tonight or tomorrow morning I will get a VC up here in this post. (NS and I, along with my Aunt Sandy and cousins Scot and Rebecca will be working on boxing some of my dad's stuff up today plus going to Home Town Buffet for our holiday meal. Looks like it will take a bit longer than I thought. However there is flaky net here and I will have my regular net on the weekend, then back up here to get everything in storage before the 1st and rent is due.

I saw him start it and it automatically looked like rolefishing. I just didn't know if he did it by accident or if he was doing it on purpose.

When I saw you reply I was like hm, she's still a town read for me regardless, but this conversation is going to hurt the town if it continues. So I posted asking to stop it.
