I actually agree, would not be surprised if psyche is the third on Tip/Zed/X scumteam.

Zoidberg, the only way I'd believe you aren't scum is if you actually do good for town, scumhunt strongly
You talk as if this isn't what he has been doing all game. :/

I think you'll be surprised when all three of those people flip.

@Psyche: Haven't been too impressed with the slot, to be honest.

D'oh, sorry about asking for a prod, was under the impression he was out for longer than that.

@TD: What's your case on Zed?

How about you vote Roflcopter, and then when he flips scum we can argue about whether or not I was bussing?

It's anti-opportunistic voting really.

An opportunistic vote would have been a low reasoning vote on the TIP wagon.

The anti-opportunistic vote is ,as I have previously stated, is a vote on a weakish play on low reasoning against the flow of the biggest wagon, more importantly without commenting on the biggest wagon.

The entirety of my zed case is based on TIP being scum, so I would not want zed lynched before a TIP flip.

Yeah, Psyche might be buddying me for townpoints but right now I can work with that.

I feel like TIP is just a newbie who's uncomfortable now that he's not in Road to Rome. Mostly I'm hoping someone vigs him, because his play has been atrocious but there are better lynches to be had IMHO.

Well, how 'bout you vote roflcopter with me. If he flips scum I'll help you lynch TIP tomorrow.

Zoid, you're asking rofl to be voted when you're doing the exact same thing as he is in tunnelling.

What's the rofl case? Is it solely based on him not giving an explanation for his vote yet or is there something else?

Psyche, why are you so defensive of all these other players? You've spent more time defending players (even TIP, who you had a non-rvs-vote on earlier) then pushing good cases. Are you just trying to earn yourself some towncred?
I don't have to worry about earning towncred in this game. I'm just trying to 1) collect a lot of townreads and 2) contribute in the most protown way possible until we're at a point when I can push a case confidently (when I finish my program that will analyze tells like Varsoon's scumclaim, etc, and enough posts in this thread have been made).

My attitude toward D1 is a lot like NS's except more actually helpful. :/

You know who doesn't have any trouble collecting D1 town reads and appearing protown? Scum.

Ah, I was speaking of him jumping on rofl, then on me, without doing much work outside of that. The only big wagons we haven't seen him on are Zoid and TIP.
Regardless, not enough info for me to put down a vote there.

@Zoidberg: I don't really put down votes like that. I vote who I think is scum. I think you're scum. Why is roflcopter scum?

P-EDIT
@Psyche: See, that post makes me feel a little better about you, even though it is placating and all that jazz. All I ask is that you read my posts carefully. I usually don't post the empty nothings that most players do.

@Desperado: That too. If you could really get in any player's head and understand their process, who would it be? I feel like we need to be asking more questions and making less accusations.

ooh i'm really excited about this so lemme explain

I currently have stored on my computer the archives of about 300 threads of mini normals. These are all in the process of being processed such that every post is associated with an alliance, a Day, and all the other stuff that posts normally get associated with (username, time, etc.). I am using a program to do this at a pretty fast pace (it takes like 1-2 minutes per thread, excluding the parts where I change thread or take breaks).

Once this is finished, I'll be able to use another program to collect statistics on these threads - how correlated a certain pattern of words, post length, Day, etc. is with a given alliance or player. Using these statistics, I will have a relatively more sound epistemic basis on which to vote and advocate the lynches of players.

Once this basic system is perfected, I'll study more advanced statistics and learn how to predict whole scumteams after inputting the first, say, 20 pages of the game.

***

Since it'll be a long time until I get all of this done, right now I'm merely going to process enough threads to perform an im promptu study on how saying things like "I'm scum" correlates with alliance and use the results to inform my read on Varsoons.

This is a lot like my accusations of flailing study that I did in 2012, except my flailing study was done manually (i scrolled through many threads, recording on a notes app who said flailing and about whom) and was much less ambitious.

@Psyche: Neat-o. Of course, you can't factor for people who are insane. Sometimes scum will play their town-game and read town, I'd imagine, and vice-versa. Who knows? Still would be cool to see in action.

@Zed: Can you give us reads? Or more content to work with?

I don't understand how you read these as scumslips. They are very obviously Zoidberg being hyperspeculative and making assumptions about this game based on his experience in past games. Period.

It's clear in Zoidberg's other, less controversial posts that he is overspeculative. The statements that you think of as scumtells are merely consequences of this character trait, not of his role.
Stop defending your scumbuddy.

I’m going to get behind this reasoning because right now I don’t even know what I’m looking for. Those potential scum slips if validated would probably be the flip that gives us the most information.
