Don't associate me with the scum please..
I've been destroyed, that's all.. Poor defense? yes im having difficulties this is the first time as a player im bombarded like that. kinda hard to take 2-3 big bricks of texts and defend myself on each point. Desisted I didnt just accept accusations as correct, that's a lie.. I am willing to admit where your theories are right and when they're wrong, i can put myself in your shoes and see where you're coming from in some points. And yes im finding it hard to find scum when eveyrone is equally taking stabs at me... meh.

Alright the charade is over. There was only so much I could do with my experience and the time I had allowed to deal with those mountains of questions and accusations and I just couldn't find the time and way to deal with it properly to save my skin, therefore helping town. I'm dissapointed. Well we all learn. It's enough, you guys dont have the patience for me anymore so from this point on i'm just being useless to town and wasting your time. I refuse to do that.
I refuse to lose to scum. If someone's gonna have my skin, it'll be me.
I die with honor!
Go town! My final prediction is that Patrick is scum. Javert is my number two.
Pooky as a replacement of my buddy Adel, work your magic and hunt the scum for me!

commentary: wow, what a blowout. scum didn't stand a chance. lynched day 1 and 2 with their night 1 and 2 kills (both aimed at power roles) blocked. i feel bad for asking pooky to replace in to that situation.
yep, scum didn't kill once this game (except last night, when they got shot too). both those kills were made by d3sisted, cop (actually a vig), who managed to kill the prostitute (actually a doctor) night 1 and the doctor (actually a cop) night 2. thank god for Jack's play as the vigilante (actually a roleblocker). all roles did know how they worked - cop was the rolename only, the ability was kill at night etc. if it wasn't for the killing of the final scum he'd be up for worst vig ever. :/
full role pms and night actions will follow tonight.

Congratulations guys, we won!
Wow, I think I understand what went on. Pooky was inactive, and that's why mafia never sent in NKs? Or was it because the Fonz successfully protected the scum targets two nights consecutive? Or maybe even roleblocker?
Props to Jack who successfully drove two consecutive scum-wagons. That was something phenomenal. I think that was what won us the game; I realized that on D2, scum would be extremely reluctant to bus off their last remaining partner (KScope), which meant I only had to choose from ChaosOmega, Pooky, and The_Fonz to kill.
My claim: Cop with vigging powers. I was responsible for MeMe, Fonz, And Pooky's death.

That was some pretty crazy stunts we pulled off there...
Heh, once i saw my vig renamed into cop, I kinda realized the roles appearing in the deathscenes weren't accurate. Porly written flaver indeed, seol; I applaud you.

it's just a shame we didn't have a single incidence of a power role being claimed. i figured that either a power role would claim or a scum would fake-claim, but no, scum seemed to prefer suicides and meltdowns as a defence tactic.

Wow, that was unexpected. Nice, breezy game on the whole, I expect we could have nailed Pooky in the day play even without him being killed at night. I'm happy that I stuck on K-Scope day 2, but man, why didn't scum at least fakeclaim a powerole to try and draw one out into the open?
Kravhen, I have to hit you with this right now. Self hammering was a bad idea that could have hurt the town. You shut off all potential conversation we could have had that day. The real scum didn't even have to comment on anything that day, he just skated right through. Don't self hammer as town seriously.
Interesting powerole setup. Now I get why Jack tried to shut down speculation on MeMe's role. I also did think that the nightkills seemed a bit odd as scum kills, now I know why.
Well played by a bunch of people it seems, including Jack and Javert and desisted, the first two of which I read as town most of the way. Thanks for the game. I think the setup might have been in the towns favour though.

role pms:
pooky/adel, godfather:
pooky/adel, godfather:
logicticus and kaleidoscope, goon:you are a godfather. you are responsible for the religious upbringing of your sister in law’s niece which is ironic because you are hardly a paragon of moral virtue. in fact in addition to your familial responsibilities you also have commitments to a rather shadier organisation – the mafia!
your comafiates are logicticus and kaleidoscope, and each night you can talk to them in The Plotting Room (a google group i have set up on your behalf). between you, you must choose a player to kill – however in the event of a disagreement your word is law. furthermore, if anyone were to try to investigate you, they would discover that you are not really any more bad than the average man on the street.
you are aligned with the mafia. you win when everyone not in the mafia is dead and a member of the mafia is still alive.
jack, vigilante:you are a goon. you inherited your burly frame and penchant for violence from your mother, and your blank stare and your secret pasta sauce from your father. all of which suits you perfectly for your family trade of mafiosoing.
your comafiates are adel and kaleidoscope, and each night you can talk to them via pm. between you, you must choose a player to kill – however in the event of a disagreement adel’s word is law because he’s the boss.
you are aligned with the mafia. you win when everyone not in the mafia is dead and a member of the mafia is still alive.
d3sisted, cop:you’re a vigilante. although i hasten to add that you weren’t always a vigilante, of course. you’ve always been keenly interested in the plight of the proletariat, hence your long and fruitful career as a social commentator through both your sunday column for the cityville herald and your acerbic political cartoons. you have long held, quite correctly, that the pen is mightier than the sword. however you have recently discovered that in certain situations the two-by-four is mightier than either.
each night you can beat someone to within an inch of their lives. they will be incapacitated for the night and prevented from going about any business they were intending to go about.
you are aligned with the city. you win when all threats to the city are dead and at least one pro-city player is alive.
the fonz, doctor:you’re a cop. in a city full of badness, there’s no room for a nice-guy attitude. in a precinct with no chief, there’s no need for paperwork. and with people dying all the time anyway, you might as well exert the full force of the law and shoot some perps. after all, the city gave you your gun for a reason, and now that reason is totally clear. in the words of rainier wolfcastle, “’bye book”.
each night you can shoot someone. this will make them dead.
you are aligned with the city. you win when all threats to the city are dead and at least one pro-city player is alive.
meme, prostitute:you’re a doctor. times are tight and you act in as wide a professional capacity as possible – you’re a general practitioner sure, but you’re also a physio, a chiro, and a pedo.
although of course in respect of that last one, your private life is your own business and nobody else’s.
and in addition to the rest, you also act as a therapist. you must have case notes on pretty much everyone in the city. in fact, you pretty much know everyone inside out. shame you’re suffering from memory loss as an aspect of senile dementia, although of course knowing you have senile dementia you’re somewhat sceptical of your own clinical assessment. when the opportunity arises, you’ll want to get a second opinion on that.
each night you can look at your case notes on a player of your choice and see if they mentioned anything about being mafia.
you are aligned with the city. you win when all threats to the city are dead and at least one pro-city player is alive.
and the rest, cityies:you’re a prostitute. that means you have sexual intercourse with people in exchange for money. icky, i know, but at least it’s a career.
each night you can, um, do your thing with a player of your choice in a seedy motel off the interstate. if anyone tries to kill them in their sleep they’ll be less than successful because a) they won’t be in their bed and b) they won’t be asleep either.
you are aligned with the city. you win when all threats to the town are dead and at least one pro-city player is alive.
the setup does favour the town - standard gf/2goon/4power/5town favours the town but not excessively, and here i think the role rotation ends up favouring the scum (claims are likely to cause further claims meaning more power in the open - on the other hand it is much harder for scum to fake claim power).you’re a bad person. you haven’t paid a parking ticket in years, you don’t recycle, you fart in lifts and blame old ladies. but there are limits – you wouldn’t kill people.
well, you would participate in mob justice and lynch people who didn’t fit within your insular worldview in a desperate attempt to lash out at something in the face of issues beyond your control or understanding. but then, that’s not you doing the killing, it’s society, and you’re ok with that.
you are aligned with the city. you win when all threats to the city are dead and at least one pro-city player is alive.

yeah, all the town roles were rotated. The Fonz wrote:My role wasn't actually doc- well, the flavour was, but the powers were cop powers. I could look through the hospital records and find out if anyone had mentioned being mafia to the psychiatrist, Tony Soprano-style.

After Kravhen came up town, I though I was the next one to be lynched, followed by Patrick perhaps. Patrick really looked quite scummy to me, largely because I thought it was impossible for Jack, d3sisted and Javert to be scum. Thankfully, d3sisted got the scum correct on N3... (Although it totally beats me as to why d3sisted vigged Fonz, who was looking quite pro-town to me)

Hmm... well, Adel did not look that scummy to me, and while she was lurking, she was lurking for a genuine reason. Pooky hadn't posted much.
CO did not look scummy to me because, again he hadn't posted much... plus he had voted me, largely without explanation, while I figured the scum would vote K-Scope or Kravhen on D2.

Like I said, after D2, I just targetted whoever wasn't on Kscope wagon. First Fonz, then Pooky. Meme was more of a random thing, I just didn't like how she only made one vote: on me (from the random stage) before jumping on to the end of logicticus' wagon.Sir Tornado wrote:After Kravhen came up town, I though I was the next one to be lynched, followed by Patrick perhaps. Fantastique!
It's always a bother when scum are replaced. Seol can vouch that my 'plan' was to lynch kravhen and Pooky, in that order, though. I was already setting up a post to ask Pooky to address Adel's shortcomings, and the fact that she asked for replacement directly after I asked her a few questions (while also avoiding answering questions earlier in the game). Ah well, this works just fine.
I will second Patrick's comment about town self-hammering;
I also think the game - on the surface - is balanced towards the town. I also think it unlikely a town power role would ever actually be lynched (at least the first to claim would not be), because another role would probably claim and say something like "hold it, my role is like that too", meaning the scum almost necessarily had to go after Townie/Cityie lynches. As Seol does mention, though, this type of thing will help assure that the scum hit power roles at night, so in a way, it
Well played town, and I will specifically mention that I was impressed with Jack.
Can we get full night choices from everybody?

do not do it
. That was possibly the least
"honorable" thing you could have done for the town - the town ultimately got about a day of play in as opposed to two weeks, and three people never even posted. Some players may rely on the night game, but I rely on the day game... and it's insanely difficult to find scum if players allow some people to simply not post at all. Furthermore, if a townsperson must
be lynched, it's good to wait to see who will vote for you; in your instance, we should have been able to see five players who were willing to vote for you, but your self-hammer cut it down to four players, which takes away even more information.I also think the game - on the surface - is balanced towards the town. I also think it unlikely a town power role would ever actually be lynched (at least the first to claim would not be), because another role would probably claim and say something like "hold it, my role is like that too", meaning the scum almost necessarily had to go after Townie/Cityie lynches. As Seol does mention, though, this type of thing will help assure that the scum hit power roles at night, so in a way, it
does
sort of balance out. Of course, this is an instance where telling the scum about that mechanic (not sure how you would do so) might have made the race a closer one, and there is nothing stopping scum from claiming after
the mechanic is revealed in order to get the appropriate power role lynched (although I will be the first to say that would be more difficult than usual).Well played town, and I will specifically mention that I was impressed with Jack.
Can we get full night choices from everybody?
"I was born with scum like you."
Whoah! That was an unexpected twist. I had no idea my blocks were successful, hadn't considered a vigilante. Though the MeMe kill does make more sense.
D3sisted did confirm himself in my eyes by saying that bit about poorly written flavor. When logicticus came up as "goon" I realized the mafia didn't know.
Night 1: blocked K-scope. There was a kill so I thought his partner did it.
Night 2: blocked pooky. Very surprised when there was a kill. Adel had acted scummy most of the game and pooky was avoiding the k-scope wagon as d3sisted mentioned.
