I don't see how Sona can beat a full team of people fully specced to kill champions like her.
EDIT: That example isn't an assassin team

Even with 25% scaling, sona's heal becomes rather large when she gets AP. And this being dominion, items will come to everyone. The 70% on her Q is nice too. As long as you have a buddy, you are going to be a much better supporting champ then you can ever be in summoners rift. Being alone is rather iffy though, since only one person benefits from your heal then.
That said, while supports are amazing since they get money here, there are better choices then Sona, it seems. I've tested soraka (starcall is decent defending, the heal is meh, the silence is great, naturally esspecially against casters). But naturally kayle looks very good, being a lategame champ usually and Karma scales rather well too. And I can't believe I haven't seen someone testing Janna (I mean, large aoe knockup with 75% ap scaling, shield with 90%, slow with 80% and should all fail, an ult which completely stops the enemy from capturing or even coming close to a point, added to that, you personally outrun all but that particular rammus, and your team is faster too)
EDIT: I beg to differ? kat and xin count as sins to me.

Agreed. The thing with Eve is how long hers last and how quickly it comes off cooldown. Shaco and Twitch are also Ok, but just not quite as effective I feel.

Dominion's so damn fun. There's a hell of a lot of complete morons playing, more than the average of the community. Haven't gotten through a game yet without someone on either team calling their team a bunch of retards or baddies.

Yeah... I had a teemo who was in last place who did fuck all complain at me (while I was in second) when we lost. >_>
Also too many people waste time trying to fight in Dominion.
You could theoretically play an entire game without killing a single person and win.
Speed is very very important;
That's why Rammus is banned in all the Draft's
Janna's passive is great for dominion;
I prefer Sona though beacuse she can actually do some damage, can heal, AND speed boost.
Stuns are also great for people under your tower.
<3
Also a few days ago in 3v3 someone told me they thought Sona was OP. o_O;

points don't tell that much brandi.
I mean, you get points from standing near your own capture point. You get points from taking a healing pack. You get points from running with the group capturing or neutralizing a point while you get less when you stand next to it fending off enemies so your buddies can capture. And you get points (and a whole lot of them) for "assisting" your companions.
The points system is riots best try at giving a number to all the things you can do. And it's going to be wrong, since there is no way they know how much every action adds to winning the game.

Janna does tons of damage. You see 100% more AP solo lane jannas than solo lane sonas. Sona is great, but Janna is > Sona in Dominion. <3

My point is that I'm successful as Sona, who is support, and I'm a bad player in general. SO that must mean something good for her~
Also, if you are able to successfully capture points then you are doing what you need to do for Dominion, and those points you get for capturing them are the most deserved. Also not dying as much is helpful as well. (Which as long as I'm with someone, I manage to stay alive a bit)
And well, I haven't tried Janna in Dominion yet, but yeah... she probably is better for it than Sona. But I'm better at Sona than I am Janna. (I keep sucking wtih Janna's ult...)

Janna's ult isn't that useful on Dominion anyway. It's better as a defensive mechanism because of it's push rather then it's heal there tbh.

Sivir + Smite + Promote + Ionic Spark + Priscilla's Blessing + maxing W first = epic pushing ftw, I think. Really want to test it.

Cait is one of the best laning champs in the game. Cait doesn't lose to *anyone*.

she's also incredibly hard to pull a gank off on. Shame her DPS isn't quite as high as some of the other ranged AD champs late game, but lane phase she's a monster and she doesn't exactly drop off, at least not in the way you'd expect someone like leblanc to.

I've been building this on Cait --
2x Doran's Blade
Berserker's Greaves
Infinity Edge
(Vampiric Scepter)
Phantom Dancer
Bloodthirster
Black Cleaver
And it seems to work really well. Caitlyn harasses LIKE A BOSS by the way. The combination of traps limiting mobility and her Q really making it so nobody can lane against her successfully is beautiful. I still only use her net attack to escape, and I can't really see another reason to use it.

I build a little differently. If my team is competent I don't see the need for a banshee's so I forgo it. My build ends up looking something like this.
Wriggles / Beserker's / IE / Wit's End / Bloodthirster / Bloodthirtster or QS Sash or PD or Last Whisper or Black Cleaver
Generally I start with a Doran's in bot and Vamp in mid. I build a madreds then grab my boots. I will then get my wriggles and start building up my next three items simultaneously. So that generally means one of the damage parts of the IE, another vamp scep and the negatron. No matter what happens as soon as I get to the point where I may need to escape I finish my Wit's End so that I can take a couple of hits while escaping. Always remember with Cait that while she is a great escapist, if she is silenced while escaping or stunned. She is dead. So always place your traps at all the entrances to the lane you are in or if you are going with the group leave them at good spots to catch the enemy team getting into a position you don't want them to be in.
Now her net. Her net has four main uses. Escaping, Closing in, supporting, and dealing damage. Why deal damage with your net? Well simply put two attacks that can go through walls is better than one. Use you net and then follow with PP when you are close to make sure land both and put distance between you. This is a great skill for skirmishes. Supporting: You can always use your net to help other secure kills. If you see a chanse happening and are too far away to do more than hit them with something ranged then slap the net on them. it will help your team catch up even if they are in fog. I remember a few days ago I helped my team kill a brand by hitting him through a wall while he was being chased but out of range. The net let my team get to him and finish him off while I was able to go somewhere else. I still got an assist. Not only can you escape with it but you can also use it to get close. You ult may have a long range but sometimes you can see them but they aren't in range. Use your net to close in just enough to get the lock on and it doesn't matter if they move out of the range provided your inions or whatever retains vision. As for escaping. You can also bait with it. It is a great bush checking tool. Go up to a bush you suspect someone is in. Get fairly close and use your net. Sometimes you can get them to blow a cooldown or two or just simply work out where they are. That can mean the difference between an ambush and escaping.
