Hi, I have an idea for a potentially very entertaining bastard mod game. I'd rather not share my ideas publicly as if I ever do host the game it's best if everything is kept secret, but I would like someone to help me out with ideas and the rest. Preferably from someone reasonably experienced at moderating (I've never hosted a game, sadly, and I'd need the tips). If anyone's interested, shoot me a PM.

If this isn't the right place to post this I apologise.

I also have an idea for an amusing (for me at least) bastard game. give me a shout if you want to discuss it. It might be better getting a more experienced person to mod it.

I wouldn't host a bastard game if it would be my first modded game.

I don't think you can host one in your first game anyway

I know, don't worry, if I ever do it it'll be a long way off.

At least until SC's bastard game gets done so I can /in without getting overloaded :)
<3 bastardy

I wasn't in this thread for serra's post about Shakespeare games but
HELL YES TO MUCH ADO OR OTHELLO!

If a Shakespeare game isn't made by the time I finish modding my 2nd (Got the first on the go now) I'll make one myself. But I'd rather play one.

^ this will definitely happen. Probably starting with an Othello micro once my upcoming micro is running.

Okay a while back Tracey and I called dibs on Avatar: The Last Airbender
Just wanted to remind everyone about that. Also, I'm beginning setup design today. Game probably won't run for a while though.

Touhou Upick

send in a list of Touhou characters and get a role based off one of them. I personally love the concept and I think it works really well for mafia ~ not sure if it's been done here (afaik Touhou mafia games exist here) but I've done it on another site.
I can't host it but I wanna see if anyone thinks it's a good idea www

What say all to a series of linked games based on history, running from the Punic Wars to WW2?

By linked, I mean each game may influence subsequent games placed close together in the timeline; for example, in the event of a Carthaginian (scum) win in game 1, the Carthaginians may appear as a faction in Caesar mafia, making it true multiball (in the event of a Roman win, I had in mind a SK game for Caesar)

Games I have tentatively plotted are Punic Wars, Caesar, Jesus Christ*,Genghis Khan, The Bakumatsu, The War of the Roses, The American Civil War**, Flying Aces of World War I, and Axis vs. Allies.

*Judas Iscariot can be either alignment, determined by RNG

**This would have to be a micro barring a lorewise reviewer, because I only know 3 significant Confederates, and one's the dude who started the KKK. Not making anyone play
that
role.

Likewise, for reasons of taste, Adolf Hitler, Lavrentiy Beria, and all Nuremburg convicts are guaranteed nonplayable.

EBWOP: I'd want an actually Christian reviewer for Jesus Christ to avoid inadvertent offensiveness.

I don't know a lot about history, mind you, but wasn't Jesus
first
?

You could split the WWII one into two or three tbh.

West Europe vs Axis
Russia Vs Axis
America vs Japan

And Americans bitch about being in the Middle East for a decade.

Read what they did after the 3rd war. They completely crushed the army, sacked the city to the ground and salted the earth.

On topic with the thread, though...

Would people play a mainstream-themed large bastard 40p game?

Looking to run it in December.

edit: the only bastard element is that there's a cult in the game w/ anti-cult town roles for balance.

So, I have a weird idea for mechanics involving the flavor of the NC Scummer Commune. Since it'd be a Scummers Mafia themed game, I bring this here for multiple reasons:

#1) I wouldn't be able to run it as an invitiational, per my punishment for /in15 with quadz.

#2) Given the controversy over my flavor in /in15, I wanted to gauge interest in the game.

Now, I would
know
the people involved (as in, these are all people I've spent and do spend ample time with in REAL LIFE so there wouldn't be the anger factor) but it feels like a very niche theme. I think I could come up with some really interesting roles for this particular theme, so yeah. This is to get a finger on the pulse of what people would think about me running said game, and if there'd be any interest. I could see me running it as a private thing where everyone just trusts I've learned from my mistakes, or as a peer-reviewed thing where I made sure to send each person who was a role in the game a copy of their PM to let them approve or deny it.

doesn't that cut into a large % of your target market (and thus is a bad idea?)

Again, if that was the case people deemed acceptable, I'd have to see if there was a market for a mechanic heavy game based on Scummers flavor. Hence the post.
