Jennifer is not giving us enough to get a decent read and is hence mostly in null and scum piles right now. DGB thought Jennifer was the scummiest player in the game. She has one conversational interaction, and that was over the advisability of trying to form a town core. She says she can't be forced to participate. Varsoon is still a person of extreme interest in my view. And in orcinus' view. We've got too weeks. We should strive to improve our information on players. The ones I want to hear much more from are Jennifer and AA9. I think we'll hear more from Varsoon naturally. If not, we can dig for it. I'm not going to ask him to expound on his case for our slot being scum. He's doing himself no favors by not expounding.

This kind of crap, though, is what makes me nervous about leaving bandwagons at L-1 when the player isn't even online. yeah, the person who hammers is an idiot and will be lynched if the lynchee flips town. but we'd lose potentially two weeks worth of scumhunting to it.

Well, mostly fery and DGB's town reads. This hydra is pretty divided on the issue of Sven.

I agreed at daystart to sheep fery on her Sven read because she has played with him multiple times before and has meta'd him extensively. I've been looking at other things, like Varsoon. Who I think we should roll a wagon on.

Re what you bolded - I read that differently. I didn't see it as being about your staying on a bandwagon that I L-1'ed and Svenskt hammered. I saw it as being about your comment afterwards - that if DGB flipped scum then I would also be scum because I hadn't supported the DO bandwagon earlier. You had both of us leaning scummy (though I think you softened that a little bit wrt me). I believe he thought it would have made more sense to assume that as scum we were driving home a mislynch not a scum lynch.

The underlined gets tossed around so often by town players and scum players that it's basically just bullshit wifom. The italicized has been going on all game. I'm surprised it only hit your radar at this point. It's part of the meta, though. And I think it's why he was so mad at me last night - I did not make an effort to have the back of a player I had a town-read on. But I have to weigh it against the layers and layers of town-read that I've gotten over the last nearly 50 plages. The site Mollie is native from involves a lot of people who are good at spotting "specials" (PRs), and often find themselves mixing up signals between PR and scum. They drop a lot of similar attitude tells.

What they fear is different. If you can figure that, it's not so hard to tell friend from foe. But, different sites, different styles, different cultures. I have a lot of fine tuning ahead of me.

1). The way Sven called for it was scummy as hell
2). It was a premature claim with no intent to hammer
3). I didn't feel comfortable enough with the Jennifer lynch and I'm not sure enough people in town were

Just because I feel like somebody has a high probability of being scum doesn't mean I automatically want them to claim. That would be stupid and anti-town.

Svenskt obviously had severe misgivings about our PGO claim from the minute he read it during twilight night 1. However, his town read on us recovered from it.

That was pretty much my own reaction to the case you built on him on day 2 after I let it soak. "yeah, yeah, but I really trust my towndar this time."

When he claimed 1 shot BP it all fell together - why our role claim freaked him out the way it did. And that's why Jake came into this game with a solid town read from me and why it will take something just about unimaginable to change it.

I think Orcinus is nearly as (if not equally) confident as I am on this read now.

Orcinus and I have been looking at Majiffy/Rach/Jen as the players we'd be willing to lynch.

Based on this post 1608

and this post 700

we feel pretty confident that Majiffy and Rach are not a team.

Rach and Jen do not look like a team. Rach wanted to lynch Jen rather than Varsoon on day 2.

Majiffy and Jen have had few interactions if any. Sort of like everyone else. I think Svenskt was the only one who was really able to draw Jen into conversation mode. I can't find a single mention of Jennifer by Majiffy on day 3. And precious few during earlier days. He's spent most of the game tunnelling either us or svenskt/jake, with the occasional foray onto whatever town bandwagon eventually picks up steam. I thought he'd pull up his socks and get into serious analysis mode today, but it's been more of the same.

So yeah, I think we're looking at a Majiffy/Jennifer team.

And I'm ready to put a vote on one of them. Preferably Majiffy.
