"productive" as in posting something that looks substantive and contributing to the game wincon but isn't scumhunting
why do I not fit in the list?In post 392, Green Crayons wrote:feel like one of DDL, S_S, and Datisi gotta be scum enjoying the free conversation generator that is Hoopla's number theory
Thats a shame to hear; some ppl like more mechanic play than others. The main point tho is that everyone can discuss mechanics-its considerably easy to do as both scum and town- henceforth, an easy way to scum to seem engaged, wich on the other hand causes a lot of paranoia on ppl who mainly do that, cause they r "avoiding" more AI kinds of playstyle; this is generaly true to anything overly rational (as in based in simple, demostrable arguments of a deterministic kind, like probabilities)In post 404, Something_Smart wrote:I've almost never been told that my mechanics discussion is a good contribution to the game.
I have, however, been told that it's a distraction and a waste of time. Frequently.

"I don't think you should be townread" in particular is a phrase that feels distinctly scummy to me, there's like an undertone of bitterness to it, like DrDolittle is annoyed that people have correctly identified Hoopla as town for reasons that DrD finds erroneous. In post 289, DrDolittle wrote:even if you are town, how do you know scum players haven't thought about your line, and have players like you in the lobby to provide them with free defense?
independently, I don't buy this line of thinking, and I don't think you should be townread for suggesting it.
it's like a funhouse mirror version of 'you caught me for the wrong reasons'.
& i feel like S_S has acquitted himself adequately. the post that originally bothered me makes more sense knowing he was describing 67 as a 'plan' and not talking about Hoopla's initial entry. his eagerness to jump into theory discussions where, as scum, he doesn't have to lie about his true feelings is still a little concerning, but he's hardly alone on that front in this game.

what is your read on greenIn post 369, Datisi wrote:i kinda don't get why people are giving townpoints to green for calling out the gypyx thing... like i read the explainations and i Don't Get It. i liked the fact clover also said he got wolf pings from that slot but then he said he's liked word's intro so i guess mindmeld with clover is over
oh ahIn post 369, Datisi wrote:i heavily *heavily* dislike this
I enjoy it, it's a breath of fresh air.In post 369, Datisi wrote:re: 345 duck's reads
i don't know if i like or hate the fact that i can be obvtown or easy to read :/
i feel like our reads are otherwise more or less Similar hmm
@duck, can we talk about green? i'm havign trouble getting the townreads there. eli5 pls.
weird vibes...oh...ahIn post 369, Datisi wrote:i'm getting weird vibes from username
@username, do you have any townreads or something? i think you've only talked about scumreads so far (other than s_s getting better i guess)
if I'm honest I don't think I'm smart enough to correctly guess! In post 370, Something_Smart wrote:I'm obviously not sure either. But I'm really struggling to see what scum-Hoopla hopes to gain from this. I don't really think that the smartest way to profit from doubling up as scum is to double up and then drop the stats immediately and announce that scum definitely didn't double-- in particular I thought the part where she announced that a double could only have occurred if she was scum was fairly towny. If she's scum, it doesn't help her if she doubled, and it doesn't help her if she didn't double, and it very well could get her pressured for trying to execute PR's.In post 335, the worst wrote:but this is a fairly neat observation. i'm not really sure hoops does anything different as scum though really? i don't know her super well. i can understand why this is a positive observation fypov
can I pat you plsIn post 377, Grumpy Cat wrote:No
interesting, I have too many null but kinda towny slots rn.In post 380, Datisi wrote:ugh i feel like i have too many "null but kinda scummy" slots right now
hoopla, do you have any non-mech reads/hot takes to offer
this game needs more content
maybe i'm not the one to talk when i keep dragging mech on
sigh
Marquis seems..... oddly aware of own thread presence perception for having posted four times

why are you voting my strongest townread and townreading my entire nullpile ugh... explain please? In post 385, Clover Ebi wrote:Word/Worst/Hoopla/Grumpy Cat are all good townreads for me. is it bad that I don't think either of these players would avoid the temptation to chomp down on number theory nonsense as either alignment but statistically desperately want you to be right? In post 392, Green Crayons wrote:feel like one of DDL, S_S, and Datisi gotta be scum enjoying the free conversation generator that is Hoopla's number theory

By my own estimate 2/3 of them are possibly town so it’s not exactly the AI silver bullet. In post 418, the worst wrote:is it bad that I don't think either of these players would avoid the temptation to chomp down on number theory nonsense as either alignment but statistically desperately want you to be right? In post 392, Green Crayons wrote:feel like one of DDL, S_S, and Datisi gotta be scum enjoying the free conversation generator that is Hoopla's number theory
I can vibe W this but I'm kinda waiting to see if his style actually does have trajectory or if it's just...thatIn post 399, Green Crayons wrote:Just so I'm not a complete ass, here, because Umlaut has suggested IRL reasons for not being as active as he might otherwise be (so the inactivity itself isn't AI). There's a sense of Umlaut's catch-up posts are more like detached observations rather than any attempt to really engage. No engagement is safer for scum because that never requires devolving into argument where you might actually have to put rubber to the road and evict a towns person based on the back of your bad reasons. In post 396, Green Crayons wrote:Umlaut isn't the only one who does catch up posts (hi yes I do it too but with multiple posts rather than a single big one), but damn the format just feels like a scum indicative tactic here.In post 391, Green Crayons wrote:is this just how you're going to play?In post 383, Umlaut wrote:Oh cool, more pages.
