i was in a game (popcorn mafia, as vulture) where i was scum and the mechanic was the gun gets passed along if you shoot town, and a lot of people were vying for toogeloo to be shot on the basis of them being very cagy with their reads and not outting anything intentionally. 4604 and 4722 feel very similar to the mindset they had in that game (one example there are others). i was resistant to the idea of them being town in this game because i felt there was a lot more vitriol in how they were posting in comparison, but i realized that they didn't actually die in that setup if they were shot/misread and here they seem to be pretty... pissed off about it which i feel makes sense when they're doing things they think are helpful.

s: i'm not sold on tamora being 100% scum (even if i am hoping to be wrong) so tamora also pushing for tooge to go through doesn't bother me but the firebringer push is probably worse (sorry doggo)

i don't think i'll be able to read firebringer and skitter felt... idk. she wasn't having a lot of fun i guess or something but it's a !! moment.

maybe i should ask tamora how much she actually believes that all the ppl being left behind are town + who the scum who crossed are because i think she made a comment like that but i don't know if it was frustration or not at being left behind and people not changing their minds.

as for toog themself it just feels very similar mechanically? and idk if they would feel a need to replicate something like that in a game where id on't think anyone else except me (who they didn't know was me) was in.

i just don't know how to make sense of this game. if toog is scum then the team is to you something like toog/a50/tamora/fire? (i guess me too you said that)

I didn't take notes and I'm not about to reopen the thread. I just marked who said what and who they nominated from the other thread and coupled all that with votes and flips from the Mod's ISO, put all these ingredients in a bowl and stirred for 5 minutes, then added the salt and pepper and brought to a boil before I turned off the fire.

No. I am playing in more than one game, and I am trying to keep up and be useful however I can, so I just do my thing in one thread and quickly switch to another

okay hi, i understood i was gonna be nommed moment i saw the event but give me some time to convey what happened in our pt, because i am gonna flip town so, yeah.

basically the tl;dr is that sircakez gave his life for me

our event was basically:

you could either pass, or sacrifice your life for someone, and it went in a line based on how we were nommed. if we did not save someone, and there were multiple town people alive in hell, then scum would have the option to save someone of their choosing. so:

titus -> sircakez -> me -> ulyana

sircakez from the start wanted me to be saved and i don't think he really wavered on that at any point. titus spent... a lot of the pt, if not all, saying that she thought no saving was the best idea so that we could kill 'at least one scum' if there were multiple in there. ulyana and i both thought that was pretty dumb i think (i'm saying i think because ulyana and i had a lot of back and forth and it was very, very frustrating because ulyana kept saying that 'you can just believe me if you don't trust your reads and pick me' which was like... okay. so, we were both pretty upset with one another. i cried. because i was /okay/ with ulyana leaving if she could hold her own right when she came up here and explain things and like, be listened to, sort of thing, but from my point of view she... was considering worlds where i was scum still which like... really frustrating when i poured my heart out into that pt trying to figure out what i could to get town to escape hell.) anyways.

titus passed, because she ran to deadline. she did come back in later to say that she was considering giving to to ulyana (meaning, let ulyana escape too), because she was worried about me/cakez being a scumteam together which lol, clearly not. cakez for the most part just like... didn't do too much but support me/call me town? and then he gave his life for me. i was unable to sacrifice myself or do anything at that point, because when someone sacrifices from you you're removed from the order. and then ulyana spent a little bit thinking about it but then ultimately passed.

i'm going to try to go into it in greater detail because there were a decent amount of pages but basically

titus: argued for no saving (aka scum escapes 100% of the time), passed, was scum
cakez: mostly just townread me, scumread ulyana
me: i spoke the most with ulyana going back and forth trying to get her to towncase herself so that i could feel comfortable in a world where i had to pick someone (if cakez passed fsr), cried some
ulyana: frustrated as well, spoke a lot about what we should do/optimal people to escape, dwelled on teams, also frustrated a lot

she spent the majority of the pt saying we should all die.

after deadline passed, and she auto-passed, she made a comment about how she considered saving ulyana because she was wary of me/cakez having scum. she also made other comments about agreeing with ulyana (because at this point, ulyana was the only person who could save her because cakez was saving me)

also it's harder for me to talk about ulyana because i was very very frustrated with her for a lot of the pt because i felt like she was... just saying she knew she was town, that everyone should see it sort of thing, and it was really frustrating for me because i wasn't... like. there was some disconnect between us. when we tried to talk i would ask like, what have you done that's towny, how have you helped to push out scum, etc, because i wanted to see who between the two of us should go up because we /both/ couldn't, but then it would pander out and then i got kind of nasty with er honestly and i still feel really bad about it because at a certain point i was just going like "i'm town too don't you see i'm town i am saying i am town, so believe in me okay just believe i'm town" which... yeah.

- i just want to flex a little bit because on page one i was saying if titus was scum she had a partner set up well in heaven and just wanted to drag everyone down. my mind was active and my third eye open

- titus was really on one in there because she literally said if we thought she was scum, AND UNLESS HER PARTNER WAS IN HEAVEN, that we should still do the dumb suboptimal thing and not save anyone because ~two scum in hell guys teehee~ and force her to be killed. lol.

- sircakez didn't really think there was any scum in heaven and he had a dream that everyone in hell died and town won. at the very end though when i pushed him to give me something to share he said look at gammagooey and peta.

- ulyana thought gamma emerald was scum but this wasn't expanded on, just said like, she tried to not save him post event-1

Because you were the first person that told me in Event 2 that you trusted town's judgment enough that Gamma/Galron were actually TvS and I foolishly overlooked your potential logic for why.

i don't think that you inherently have to capitalize on it for it to make you look good/like a read you were invested in/etc, it just happens, people recall it as something you did; gamma did leverage it once (people bowing to his reads) that i can recall off the top of my head though

reason for scum to vote town into a kingmaker position, theory: you have to look uninformed that it is actually a kingmaker, even if people hypothesized it. thus, you have to act as if you are wagoning for real (which I think most people were doing), so, you vote town on there, and it's beneficial to vote town who will kill town for you; the sabotage is there to protect scum if killed by kingmaker and can be framed as wifom or not wifom but ultimately it is something that people cannot prove or disprove and thus resort to reading the slot more i think than the actions scum took around it.

the simplest answer is that it's used beneficially for scum which, i mean. the benefit is scum not dying lol. gamma had a 1/3 (?) chance to pick the scumslot in his reads he was willing to kill (the other two were like, ceph and you iirc, dont quote me on this) and he just swung right if he's town and forced scum's hands.

I’m shifting into ISO reading for probably the rest of my deliberation because just reading the game regularly is starting to feel like the well of info has dried
Saber’s early progression through the game seems pretty alright, I just feel like there was a lot of flowery content in the way of that and we also had the square-off about my TRs that set me against her. I’d like a chance to actually have a heart-to-heart, so she’s exempted from the kill.

I think I’m also good with exempting Cakez for a couple of reasons. Let’s get this out of the way first, yes I want to dance with him eventually. He also just, hasn’t felt scummy at all? I feel like I’m normally really good at picking out when his vibes are off. I managed to ID CL!Cakez off of a very loose grasp of his play in 3d20. Times where I’ve been off-track are probably mostly attributable to other factors.

In a way it feels like Dunnstral has been playing a different game than the rest of us, his focus and thought process seems so out of line with what's going on. While that's probably scum-indicating, I also feel like it's something I again want to put up for discussion rather than acting on now.

I feel like Toog’s contributions up to now feel very hit-or-miss. The middle of his ISO kinda feels the worst. I’m not sure how much I think it needs litigating, hrrrrm. I’ll skip a final determination for now.

Galron’s posting looks pretty not-okay looking at it with fresh eyes. I feel like from the beginning he was hoping to pocket me. I’ve had talks with a friend from this site that have led me to realize that it’s honestly very rare to see scum all against me. When I’m in the hot seat, it seems more often scum will take a broad set of stances on me. His play around my slot just feels very engineered to make a good impression on me overall.

So my list of names atp is down to (Cephrir, Dwlee, peta, Galron), with Toog as a maybe.

I really feel like Cephrir’s push on me doesn’t feel right. It feels like he’s stuck in a spot of

to push me, which kinda builds on the idea that scum were stancing up around me in different planned-out ways.

Not much to say about Dwlee’s ISO, still think the dumbtelling was bad, still not a fan of how he feels bent against my view of the game. The big thing on my mind wrt the second thing is he and Saber have felt very similar in that regard, and for a couple of reasons I think that makes Dwlee/Saber likely not S/S.

After having given myself a framework, Toog!scum feels more within the realm of possibility. His play feels at least a little in line with what I’m expecting scum to have done here.

Gonna watch the anniversary screening of Evil Dead soon. Once I finish with that, I think it’s time to give someone the boot.

@Taly- peta I just like for his day 1 posting I think. His Blue PT posting was good too but I specifically read over his day 1 posting before voting to yeet Infinity over him and it just seemed like he was casually scumhunting and regular ass townposting

I feel like I just want to leave Skitter/SaberXHarley/Toog/??? uncrossed unless vast amounts of goodposting occurs from them soon. Cakez will probably fight me on Skitter/Saber but I do want to know why he's townreading them so that's fine

For the most part yeah, and definitely about skitter & Saber

On Skitter - Her latching onto 'No more than 1 scum in Pink' and 'something fucky happened in the Blue PT' without seeing the blue PT herself I dislike a LOT. It seemed like really shallow logic that she wouldn't give up on, and focusing on that instead of her actual reasons to find peta scummy outside of that just seemed like filler posting to me.

Saber I just reread a bit of and Harley's posting now is both a) better than it was last event when it was just random thoughts based on borderline no reading at all and b) still not good enough to not be faked by scum or to outweigh what I think looks slightly sketchy from Saber's posts regarding Dunn - Saber had Dunn as a 2nd from the bottom tier read for a while but didn't bother voting him until there were major wagons on both him & Toog, and early-game had a few statements/comments that redirected people away from Dunn.

Ydrasse I like their posting this event but I still want to reread her and most people I townread more than her

Toog I'm probably fiiiine with not dying today but I don't think the Dunn/Toog interactions are impossible to fake and if he doesn't contribute actual posting in future events either I will try my damnedest to chuck him into the nearest meatgrinder before whatever this game's equivalent of LYLO is

i mean true, i didn't see the blue pt, but i saw the pink pt and i was basing my understanding of the game from what i saw there
and i take issue with the fact that you're saying i was focusing more on the pt than why i found peta scummy, and i also described my peta read above more

This is...pretty clearly not true? We interacted v. directly when we talked about you thinking the Toog/Dunn wagons meant Toog was town.
I can see how it might feel like I'm being a bit dismissive of you, but I think you're pretty likely scum compared to the rest of the players here and your reads feel more reactive than based on actual reading of the game before your entrance, which I don't view as particularly helpful. To answer your question from earlier I could see you as scum with almost all of the playerlist if I assumed that those other particular player(s) were scum (not like...peta and imo likely not Ydrasse b/c I don't think you'd tie yourself to her strongly as Scum/Scum which I feel you're doing when she'd otherwise be in a pretty fine position), and its particularly that if you can be scum with skitter, since you'd feel somewhat forced into distancing/bussing atm given the collective opinion of both of your slots. And if you disagree I feel like it's on you to read through the game and give coherent reads and give actual reasons for why you wouldn't be scum with person X or Y (and peta already made a similar point to this earlier).

oh, and very last part. I don't think this should be considered nearly as much as the above, but I also really, really dislike Harley Quinn's interactions with skitter in their short time in the Saber/HQ/Tamora playerslot. It goes from town reading skitter to having doubts because of this skitter post (with the reasoning of HQ thinking skitter has a really bad sr on her)

saber's slot has just kinda been around and just making kinda polished observations without follow-through and without really having an underlying thought process. kinda reminds me of scum-lilith in that way tbh. harley's entrance was focusing on the wrong things and was kinda scummy in that i think it's easier for scum to focus on mechancis in a game like this than figure out what their reads ought to be

Ydrasse as Bee in PYP had a serious case of scum fatigue; after I read that fact in the scum PT of that game Ydrasse shot up to Taly-level town because I saw none of those same warning signs from her in this game that I received in that game.

so knowing the entire scumteam decided to hold my hand through this game this was a little ? to think about because it's one of those little pet townreads or whatever that you throw out that doesn't have a lot of stake to it because i don't -think- i had a lot of fatigue and i don't really know what warning signs he ever... meant?

Skipping over last event and going over previous stuff would be fine, maybe what you thought of skitter early game, how scum interacted with you in particular and why you think they treated you the way they did, anything else that you think is weird/insightful that you think has been overlooked so far would all be fine.

gamma fits this better earlier game actually bc he slapped down a weird tr on me that i don't quite get. also peta if youw ant to get technical for going through a ton of quotes to tr me but i don't think this is the 4th scum coming out to tr me for a hard pocket. maybe it is i pray it's not but pretty sure that isn't hte case.
