I've played Soulsilver through so many times. Best main line pokemon game tbh, the 2nd gen remakes.

sword and shield was the worst for game, but the post game was really fun because I like to play competitively on my switch itself. Don't really care for showdown.

i stopped playing after black/white 2 which were great
i think i played a little of x/y but idk i didn't have the motivation to finish it
i agree soulsilver was probably peak

sw/sh are actually good additions to the series but are just bad games.

Maybe this is why I liked pokesnap so much.

I think there's the most fun tactical replayability in Soul silver is probably, and it's in the 4th gen system, and personally the pokemon following behind is a great touch. I also like the Easy-Normal-Hard mode options in regards to the starters.

Platinum is good, I'm excited for eventual 4th gen remakes because it'll be way better than sword and shield, however, I rush through those games anyways to get to post game.

Sword and Shield feels complete now that the DLC comes out, but it also gave different meta games to the competitive scene, so I'm indifferent. I spent a lot of time breeding sword and shield, and I think there's some decent stuff, there's just a lot of groan worthy stuff, mostly to do with the story essentially holding your hand the entire time. Like come on, first gen, second gen didnt hold hands, and tons of kids were able to go through it. They need to stop babying it down for younger players because it's possible to write a good story that can draw kids in still.

I'm also working on a children-young adult like fantasy novel right now, so I'm thinking about that kind of stuff a lot.

I love Nintendo, but they don't understand a specific subset where they could be even bigger than they are right now.

Everyone in my social group has a switch, and we're like all mid 20's.

Pokesnap is good, they're making a new one too.

Pokemon Puzzle League is where it's at, though.
