Quick question for anyone who can answer, figured this was the best place for it (and if it's not, feel free to delete and PM me a response)
Wanting to get back into mafia having not played it for several years, and debating whether here or a normal game is best fit for me. My experience in the past was one game on here, as well as a couple on another forum. Since then I've played variants here and there, but not on forums.
Basically, has a lot changed since I last played, and would I be throwing myself in the deep end too much by playing a non-newbie game?

It's really a matter of how much being unfamiliar with terminology and voting norms bothers you; basically, in newbie games talking about terms, concepts, and strategies is par for the course because the idea is everyone is trying to get a handle on the game. People will explain terms in non-newbie games if you ask but they will generally be assuming you know what they mean. I think it's fine to do non-newbie games if you've played a few games in the past so long as you're okay having google or the wiki open.
That being said newbie games are pretty nice. They tend to have an even pace and nice people so I think you're good to either way. I wouldn't avoid the newbie queue; honestly it's one of the best queues on the site. But you can go either way if you want.
