I'm on it. Not sure *how* to fix it, but I know what the problem is.

Ok, we are on the right path. Instead of like 4 hours off and behind, its now about 15 minutes off and fast.
Nevermind, thats just me and settings I had messed with earlier.

I think DST broke my settings. Testing time on this post.
EDIT: It seems okay now; I only noticed it due to "sent" times on Role PMs.
(For those having issues: In Board Preferences, there's a button to enable/disable DST. It's handled differently on other BB systems, and I think this way is clunky but
I am grateful to mith for everything he has given us.)

What the hell - why didn't anybody tell me the tab order was all messed up on submit/preview buttons? I'll get right on that after access is restored...

Heh. Sweet.
ALSO:
When I search a thread for a string... it seems to stop after a certain number of results.
For instance, I was searching Succession for 'chrono', and I only got results from day 1.

Yeah, on the old forum, I made it so that it could only be set by someone with database access. It was briefly settable by admins, but that mod broke at some point.

Hmm.... did I actually accomplish anything when I was looking into this for the transfer? I wonder if I can find it on my hard drive to see...

View First Post on every page
- had this on the old server, will need to look into JEEP's code for it and see how well it translates. Would like to add a way to enable it by thread owner, not user.
Priority: low.
This should be easy enough to port as a user setting (the way it used to be). Having it set by topic owner should be doable.
Hoopla wrote:I remember seeing a forum that displayed thread views (or maybe thread replies, idk), but when you clicked the number it showed you a list of who had posted in that thread and how many times. I think that would be handy to quickly get a game post count without having to look at each player in iso.
Getting a count of how many times each person posted in a topic should be relatively straightforward. I think there used to be a mod on phpbb.com that did this for 3.x.
Ythill wrote:Also, would it be possible to indicate original post numbers somewhere in iso? So that I can look at iso24 and know it is #342 without navigating?
I was thinking about overloading the subject field with the post number and not allowing it to be edited. It could lead to skips if posts are deleted, though.
Oh, and hi all! I'm not sure how much time I'll have available, but I've missed scum and hope to check in at least occasionally.

Blah, what happened to avatars, they are gigantic and horrible.
And mine is all distorted now.

Heh, avatars aren't actually any bigger than before, there was just an import error and the site lost dimensions. So everyone got set at 100x100 - fixed yours.

I am currently modding a large theme game that's in night. I had to open the thread to edit my OP and post to inform the game that I found a replacement. I forgot to relock the thread afterwords and a player posted in thread. I am unable to delete these posts and it's something I find reasonably important to be able to do. Is there something that can be done about this?

I believe the work-around
at this time
is for you to edit the post to blank and then ask mith or Flay to delete it. (If I'm wrong, I apologize.)

Correct. It's still high on my list to get mods their own rights to delete player posts, but haven't had time to find the right combination of variables. They locked phpBB3 down in some interesting ways...

That they did. And on my boards, I had neither the time nor the inclination to deal with that kind of programming.
Luckily, I don't need anything nearly as specific as Mafiascum does, or I'd be tearing my hair out. Frequently.
Also, I am adding to the wish list (not quite sure if it's here yet) the ability to (when in "posting" or "reply" mode) to be able to quote not a post, but just the link to the post, if you can find it in the Topic Review section.
i.e. When you click "quote", it'll quote the post into your reply wherever your cursor is at the moment. I'd like you to be able to click "quote iso #" and it'll display something like the following:
Code: Select all
[url=https://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?p=2684958#p2684958][b]Post #311[/b][/url]
which displays (once posted) as:
It'd certainly make guys like me happy, and it'd save me a lot of time when quotewalling.
Also, the ISO #'s don't work in topic review, it just says "#", and that's it still.

Somebody who ONLY has game mod rights (i.e. not a List Mod or GD Mod) and has a game currently in Night should try to edit one of their posts. Kison may have tracked down that particular problem...

I am able to successfully edit my own posts (without unlocking the thread) in Picking Simplicity, which just went into Night Five.

Thank Kison!
I've got a fix in the works for post numbers not showing up in topic review under the reply editor, but it won't upload for some reason...
Worked the following evening... let me know if it broke anything.

Can't edit first post right now, so saving edits here:
Format of PMs is wonky
- I know, I know, technical terms. I can see it's not formatting correctly and I even know why, but I haven't tested the fix yet.
Estimated completion: 6/22.
Done.
scumchat
- need to put the link back up for it, soon! Undecided about where exactly, yet... taking suggestions.
Done.
Game Moderators being unable to unlock their own threads, or edit once locked
- we know what's causing this and are working on a workaround. Go to
http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopi ... =1&t=14321 in the meantime if you're unable to unlock your game.
Estimated completion: 6/17 at the latest.
Done.
Read in Isolation mod
- I haven't ported it over yet, but I have at least two examples to work from.
Estimated completion: 6/18.
Done; does have an idiosyncrasy when there's just one post.
wiki images
- mith has fixed the permissions on the upload folder.
Done.
BCC PMs
- The new 'Add' button on PMs works great, except it copies the names in public.
Not so great for role PMs
! Use 'Add BCC' instead. I'll look into changing it, but I suspect it will be easier to just learn the new interface.
Added a disclaimer.
Open Game Forum
- pretty easy actually, we did it on the test forum. Low priority compared to some of the current problems/bugs, though.
Done.
Watched Topics
- WT were a homebrew mod by JEEP so they didn't convert over into Subscriptions/Bookmarks. I'll check with mith about getting them ported into Bookmarks, but can't promise anything. Use 'View Your Posts' to find most of them and Subscribe/Bookmark them.
In a similar vein, the regular reply screen should be made less confusing (Submit | Preview | Save Draft)
Done.
-->
somewhere
there's a bad interaction between comment tags that leads to a trailing tag showing up on the Quick Reply box. It doesn't happen on every page, however... may be because of an oddly-compiledBBcode.
I believe I found this problem and fixed it...
Post Numbers
- I haven't ported it over yet, but I have at least two examples to work from.
Done.
Game Moderators being unable to edit locked threads/player posts in their games
Done.
Topic-Mod
- Game Moderators should only be able to edit posts in their own threads, not forum-wide. Just requires a bit of fiddling with permissions.
Done.
class="first"> -->
- Some users (Opera-only?) are getting this before posts. Check and see if there's any mismatched comment code.
I believe I found this problem and fixed it...
Truncated posts
- We underestimated how big our biggest posts were; some posts over 100,000 bytes got truncated. All data is still available!
mith is working on a copy scheme. Fix in progress.
- Done; may want to add it to the profile page at some point.
- - just need to look at JEEP's old code, should be an easy implementation.[/strike] Done, thanks to Kison for the scumday code fix.
scumchat link
- the redirect from index.php doesn't work right now; the fix is coded but not implemented yet. Estimated completion: 12/23
mafSepia, mafTigers
- Sepia is implemented. Tigers needs a new artist/coder, as the other person had to drop the task due to time constraints. Some people have also asked for a mobile theme that is high-visibility, low-image-use. Priority for Tigers and Mobile: medium-low; sciGreen and others; negligible
Gender and other custom profile fields
- The data's reimported, but icons aren't implemented yet. Would like to have a way to 'forbid' the use of the tg icon if it becomes problematic. Estimated completion: unknown; may not redo it. Priority: low.
Preview on Hover
- JEEP's old mod shouldn't be that hard to transfer over, but it might take me a while to get to it.
Done, though only for first post, not last post.
Game tags
- Chess is done, though I'm looking into removing the 'piece icons' from the moves list. are still dicey, and Go/etc isn't even on my radar... Priority: low-medium.
Quick Reply needs some tweaking
- already forced it to display by default and swapped Preview for Full Editor. A "Quote Selected" button would be nice; should also re-add the "Subscribe to this topic?" checkbox. Found a mod that does most of this. Also need an option for people to disable Estimated completion: 1/15
Prod Interface
- It should be possible to give game moderators a summary of when everyone last posted in the game, and an easy way to prod them. There's an offsite script that does this at present, but integrating it with the forum should be more efficient. This will benefit from a way to designate players as 'alive' or 'dead'.Priority: medium; knowledge: lacking.
View Entire Thread
- had this on the old server, disabled it due to server load. Might be able to restore it, for Printer-Friendly View at least. Priority: low
Search PMs
- http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/pm_search/ will probably work, but may need some bug-checking. Priority: low
View All Players' Posts
- on the old board a 'bug' allowed all the View in Iso posts to show up on a single page. Some people want this again... may instead bump it to 100 posts/page when viewing in ISO.Priority: low
Global Announcements
- something seems to be acting up about the 'view latest unread' when it comes to GA threads. Have to dig in the code to find out what might be causing it, though... Priority: low
View First Post on every page
- had this on the old server, will need to look into JEEP's code for it and see how well it translates. Would like to add a way to enable it by thread owner, not user. Priority: low.
Multiquote
- I'm not sure exactly how people want this implemented, but it exists now for the last 25 posts in a thread - just look at the Topic Review under the posting editor. Other sites use a 'sticky' QuickReply box, or checkboxes and then quoting all checked posts (will lead to walls).Priority: low
BBCode Documentation
- At some point we should edit http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/faq.php?mode=bbcode to show our new/custom bbcodes. I'd prefer to upgrade the FAQ Manager first.
Let me know of other things - this is more of a honeydew list than the Post-Conversion FAQ thread.

Yeah mine goes up to "search this topic". Not sure if it's because I'm on a ghey mac or if it's cause that's what you're talking about.
