how does that exactly work

the passive on doran's shield is unique, so I'm presuming that ring ring or shield ring? It doesn't seem like the stats on the item are so compelling you would stack it in spite of it.

I build Singed by starting mana crystal and rushing rod of ages. I usually build Sunfire cape somewhat early, depending on my matchup.

But honestly i'm an old guard singed layer and that build is probably outdated, been using it since like early-mid season 4.

In my opinion Liandries is trash on Singed, Rylais is OKAY but not an early item. They both seem super tempting since Singed's Q seems like the best synergy to them, but Singed had to be very tanky and Rylais is not necessary to do damage. Rod is one of the best items for him imo, Rylais is probably a good 5th or 6th item, after a couple core tank items.

PEdit: Please don't build dorans ring on him. There's no point, get a Shield if you dont want to go crystal.

champion.gg has had rylais+liandry's winning more than roa+rylai's for a while

Rylai's/Liandry's is better than RoA/Liandry's.

RoA is just not in a good spot at this point.

Ok, I've been off my singed for a while, mostly because some of the common matchups have been and will be for the coming time are absolutely terribly to play. You don't want to face a gnar, a fiora, a darius, garen is hard, gp eats you. Riven is a trash tier matchup. Basically anything with some form of trading that's newish (apart from garen) just makes your laning experience a pain, and half of them get to scale now as well.

Season 2 more like. This build worked for a while because there was a nearly broken mastery that gave you a lot of regen based on your max mana. The moment that mastery is gone, you don't want to start sapphire crystal, ever. That's fucking 3 seasons ago and people still haven't caught on. If you want to go this route, at least go ruby crystal, it gives some stats, they made it cheaper so you can use it as a greed starting item. It's indeed still greedy. Just go shield or flask (shield because you won't be building out a cloth armor soon, that's basically the determining factor there. If your champ wants to build a full armor item first, go cloth 5).

RoA got buffed on the same patch. Not to the same silly extent as liandry's, but a buff nontheless. The issue I have and will have with rylai's on singed is that you basically buy it for the reduced slow (even if you get 5% extra post buff) on his poison. There are times where this is key, but otherwise you get a massive aoe slow in your kit, use that. For the tank stats, I think there are better items.

Not sure who told you that. It is worse than the average melee matchup. Not Riven bad, but up there. Depending on play, goes either way.

champion.gg has singed beating irelia 56% of the time over 168 games
so i'm inclined to think that there's a reliable way to play against her

From my point of view, Singed only has to play safe until his first back? After his first purchase, considering Irelia's usually go Trinity, she shouldn't be able to fight and chase a singed anymore.

IMO building flat ap on singed is bad besides early, liandiries does most of his damage, and ryalais is too good to pass up. Sometimes I get tear instead of two dorans though. or ludens for fun.

i just played and won my first ranked game of heimerdinger. Forced to play top lane against Darius, I pulled him out. He seems like a really hard matchup for Darius, particularly because the build path already wants to build zhonyas #1. That said, i'm pretty sure our adc was getting elo boosted.

Also it qualified me for my next series on my zorasterful account. I've won 10 of my last 11 games and on a 7 game win streak.

I fucking hate Yasuo.
