The afternoon went by without much incidence, and the officiers who checked the outside noticed that the crowd was thinning more as the day wore on. Whether it was from night approaching or from losing interest, they couldn't tell without asking, and that was something they couldn't do.

With not much else to do besides nursing the remnants of their hangovers, they argued back and forth over who should be the one who killed the chief, or had a hand in helping him. The accusations were thrown from one officer to the next, seemingly without end, without pause.

Eventually, as the sun was sliding down the horizon into sunset, one of the officers cried, "Enough!" And roughly grabbed Malthusis to bring him to the fore. Malthusis himself was obviously indignant and being roughed around like a prisoner and said as much. To his shock, the rest began listing a myriad of reasons why he should be one of the accomplices to the murder, if not the murderer himself.

"You...you really believe that shit?! he cries incredulously. "I thought we were supposed to trust in the truth, not have faith in lies!"

"Some of it is true, though," IceGuy replies, raising his gun to Malthusis's head as the rest stand back. "And we can't wait for the judges to convene, not when the murderer is still here in this building. so let's finish this."

Everyone else jumps when IceGuy pulls the trigger, not expecting him to shoot at all. Malthusis has a few seconds to look around before his vision blurs and he slumps to the floor, dead.
"What'd you do that for?!" One of the offiicers shouts as another searches Malthusis.

"Because I thought he was the perpetrator, and because we were getting nowhere," IceGuy says simply.

"You thought wrong," the searching officer says suddenly, pulling out Malthusis's badge. Inside was the sign for their own police force, emblemed and wrought just like the others. It certainly didn't look fake, to IceGuy's surprise.

"Nice," the officer sarcastically says

All of them realize then that the sun had already set and night was coming. Eager to put this day behind them, most of the officers went back to bed, except IceGuy, who stared at Malthusis for a long moment.

"You were just going to get shot, anyways," he grunts before finding a place to sleep in the room that was comfy and also out of the eyes of the public.

And so, the first one falls; exactly as planned, as the three interlopers thought.

The morning dawned grayer than yesterday, as if nature knew of the dire situation in the building.

the 11 other people in the building eventually awoke, groaning as they slide out of their beds or wherever they slept to see what this day would bring. As two of them hauled off Malthusis's body (which oddly didn't smell by this time), another began searching for vijay, who wasn't with them upon waking.

Aware of his habit of watching others from the shadows, they made sure to search high and low around the building, but there was still nothing. With exaggerated sighs, they head back to his own room to discover that, despite their cleverness, their enemy was even craftier.

After all, they put vijay in the one spot that no one would think about until the last second to find someone like him: his own room.

I re-read overnight and decided I was wrong about Korlash. He's town; we just don't see eye to eye.

I didn't reread last night and instead went to the pants store. I decided these slacks are ugly and make me look fat so I bought 10 pairs... Yeah, I don't honestly make smart decisions with my money. So I've decided to make a smart decision with my vote. And we come full circle!

I suggest he starts us off with hypocop, followed by Lucky, followed by popcorn style. But I haven't not reread to decide if I make a smart decision with my suggestions yet...

I suspected him and he strikes me as a fairly unreadable player.

If RD wasn't a miller thing, I would have checked him out of pure theoretical strategy.

I thought he was fairly obvious town personally.

Why couldn't you read him?

I read him as scum. If you check my ISO, my suspicion of him is consistent.

He is an older player whose skill level I am unsure of, but older join date players tend to intimidate some newbies into town reads, even if unwarranted. His particular posting style seems to relish in fluff and AtE, which can be a difficult posting style to read.

I was going for a guilty, though.

IceGuy was going to get negative attention no matter what because he's been playing like absolute shit.

I was one of the very few (and perhaps the only one) suspecting Korlash, so if he was actually scum, I was going to have a much harder time getting him lynched without a guilty.

If scum had a roleblocker, they would almost definitely have roleblocked me last night. They know that I am a cop because they know I'm not scum, and the likelihood of me fakeclaiming as town is very low. So they know that I have the potential to fuck them over (as both guilties and innocents are very bad for scum).

It's not 100% sure they don't have a roleblocker, because there are other interfering abilities (redirect, for example), and other possibilities of things that interfered with their roleblocker. They also COULD have blocked RainbowDash or someone else, but I think that would be dumb. But maybe the scum are dumb. idk.

Still, despite outside chances of uncommon roles/weird role interaction/super dumb scum, it is unlikely that there's a roleblocker on scum side. Me turning up with no result today could easily have led to my lynch, which is a possibility that would be very hard to pass up for scum.

Yes you do know... In order to argue Iceguy as scum you had to say he was dumb since it made no sense for scum to claim in order to mislynch a miller... :\

In addition, I would speculate redirect and a number of other power roles shouldn't exist in this game. I will admit there is a very viable and likely role that would stop a RB so you make a good point in that.
