Mini 563 - Fish Monkey God (ROCKS FALL EVERYONE DIES)
Forum rules
I'm completely confused and am trying desperately to figure out the scum set-up so that we can lynch in the best way possible.
armlx - Are you saying that you don't believe roffman's claim anymore? What do you think the scum set-up is, and if you think roffman is scum, what kind of scum do you think?
Saturday I will sit down and read through the thread and try to land on a new target for lynch. I suggest that everyone do the same, or at least try to post something significant by the week's end. We definetely need more participation.

Alright, let's break it down how I see it based on my role PM (all paraphrasing, since quoting from the role PM is verboten under threat of a fate worse than a fate worse than death):
We have three groups: The town (described as a democracy in my role PM for some reason, despite there being an emperor of some kind), the oligarchal rebellion and a group whose title includes the word "cult". At the start of the game, the "cult" numbered two plus people who could win alongside them. One of these two original "cult" members is also a member of the oligarchal rebellion. I don't know if the "cult" can recruit - it could be the case that "cult" is just an appropriate flavour title for them, and they don't act as a cult in the mafia sense, something we can't assume based on the fact that the mod says nothing about them. There's a vague implication also that the "cult" members don't necessarily know who else is in the cult, but I could be misreading that and, obviously, I can't quote the exact wording since I don't want to die.
Win conditions:
- The town wins if only townies remain at the end.
- The "cult" win if they and people who can win with them are the only people left at the end of the game.
- The Oligarchal revolution... I'm not exactly sure what their win condition is, since it's not explicitly stated in my role PM. I assume it's a standard Mafia win condition, since that's what's implied.
Numbers:
1+ "Cult" (at least one, possibly more if they can recruit)
1 "Cult"/Oligarchy
2+ Group-Specific Cops (2 deceased, probably no more)
1+ vote theives (1 deceased, probably no more?)
1 Emperor (the flavour states that he's among us, so I assume someone has that role and I would assume he's town aligned, and is included in the number of living town players)
1+ non-"cult" Oligarchy (unless this oligarchal rebellion is just one person)
6 or fewer living town-aligned players, including multiple win-condition people/survivors. I believe there need to be at least 4, but I'm not entirely sure.
Am I missing anything?

I don't believe his claim based on Dizzy's info, but quite frankly I had I had no freaking clue what the set up could be until Dizzy posted.windkirby wrote: armlx - Are you saying that you don't believe roffman's claim anymore? Urgh. You'd think that people might be able to comment on my last post, but apparently not.

Ah, thanks for spelling that out Dizzy. It helped. There. Is that a good reaction?
However, your setup does not explain the two nightkills... The "cult" probably can't kill since that would make it just like the Oligarchy, so we probably have a vig or an SK, though the latter seems unlikely because the game already seems rather pro-scum.
As I said, I'll look for who to target tomorrow. Today's looking a bit too busy for an entire reread.

I was trying to avoid claiming yesterday, since revealing the information I've revealed so far will most likely necessitate a claim at some point today. Today, it became clear that given the town has lost three players and the game had stalled, the information was too valuable to conceal.Ration wrote:Unvote

Argh... I'm really sorry for not following through, but I had a fat powerpoint presentation to make that was unanticipated, and my family lied to me about which day we were going to see the high school production of oliver twist, (does it sound like I'm making this up? I can post my presentation if no one believes me.) so free time has been minimal. I'm also supposed to go driving today, and we'll probably have a church movie night, but if we don't I should be able to get that reread in. Otherwise, tomorrow or tuesday at the latest. Sorry.

Would you like me to claim?armlx wrote:....
Your reasoning is sketchy at best. I still think you are scum, but until we kill the cult leader or determine they don't recruit we can wait, unless it gets to a point the town would lose if the cult died.

Hmm... after another reread, I'm pretty freakin' suspicious of roffman once again.
The scum possibility:
He's scum and figures that there are some pretty bizarre roles in the game.
Then, he decides to claim something unusual because it's something scum would not typically do. However, he doesn't really know what his role is; he hasn't decided this yet. So therefore, he just drops a few hints about having a special role before really landing on what it does, ending with him claiming a very odd role indeed.
The town possibility:
He's not lying... He is a "mafia spy," except he has no idea who they are; instead, his role PM told him that he shares cloak colors with the mafia, which is actually pretty useless information now that it seems that they've lied about their colors. His night power is to target a player and block them if they have a weapon kill role. He is colorblind, and his program made him think his cloak was light purple when it was actually indigo... except this wouldn't make sense because it's been proved that Capricious, who claimed to have an indigo cloak, is, in fact, town. So the only other possibility is that the mafia all lied about their cloak colors, except that Ration and Tyfo, apparently mafia in this scenario, would then not have any motivation to both choose the same color as Cap. Ration claimed before Cap, so perhaps he was not anticipating a similar color claim, and perhaps Tyfo was only too lazy to check the previous color claims... but then, that would be a ridiculously stupid move, and so I deem this scenario unlikely.
Ration and Tyfo, I would like you to both ask the mod what your cloak colors are.
We'll see where we go from there, but as of now, I think roffman is lying about his role.

See, here's the thing... if I claim, it won't clear me or roffman. So there's no real benefit to the town, aside from maybe an understanding of the flavour.

Ration - For our daily lynch, I'm considering roffman for his very unlikely stories. I'm not so suspicious of Dizzy because with such odd roles, some included info seems plausible, and she is willing to claim. However, it's still suspicious that she hasn't said anything about it thus far, so it might be worth looking into.
