If there was a game, where you didn't know who was who, like you have a list of aliases to vote and you can freely PM everyone and anyone, is it even possible to run?
Of course there must be some way of "alias-hunting" to not turn it into a shitfest, but assuming it's balanced, would it be fun?

Is being done, has been done. The PMing thing hasn't but I think a non-anon with free PMing is also being done.

Has anyone done an anonymous all-hydra game yet? I did one on MU and it was really fun. I think I'd like to try modding one here. Players could either PM to request being partnering, or partners could be assigned. So we'd have 26 people signing up for 13 hydras. It would be a 10/3 game with scum daytalk and no PRs.

Hydra slips will happen

maybe we could ask people not to? I don't think it would be an awesome idea to try to strictly police slips, but if someone knows they're prone to slipping, or if they rely heavily on meta (yours or others'), then this isn't the ideal game-concept for that person anyway. I think in the game I played, no one slipped, but someone guessed at one head of one pair based on how they were playing. Also, in that game, hydra identities were revealed with the flip. Most people are grown-up enough to not want to ruin everyone's fun, right?
... I suppose there should be either an alt-slip-forced-replacement rule, or a WOTM to weed out more air-headed players. I wouldn't ban speculation, or self-admitted reveals, but it would be discouraged.

I think the purpose of the game would be to rely heavily on teamwork and instinct to win, rather than mavericking and meta.

Hey guys, I'm planning to mod a Roleplay Mafia. So my intended focus or mechanic on this mafia game is to roleplay. Roleplaying, if you're unfamiliar, is a type of forum game (or maybe not really a game) for writers, which you can play by writing. I believe few years ago by the help of wayback machine, there's a separate forum section on this site that is only based on roleplaying. I'm not sure about this, but I think there is.
So the main mechanic is very simple:
you roleplay
. The plot is this (which was copied on the first page of the mafiascum wiki):
"In the peaceful Sicilian village of Salem, a dark presence is about to make itself known. For years, the family based crime organization known as the Mafia has been establishing itself in the foundation of the community. Until now, the naive citizens have been unaware of the evil among them. Tonight, however, the Mafia makes its move. Tonight, someone will die, and until the Mafia has eliminated all opposition, the innocent will continue to die. Unless, of course, the Mafia is destroyed first..."
The area is very simple too:
The area is called Town of Salem.
Characters will be gathered at the center of surrounded houses. At the center of the characters is a rope used for lynching.
There is a black board, which contains the votes. Players could use the board to act like their character is voting someone in a black board.
Since this is a roleplay, I also think that there should be a character for players that they want to be, because roleplaying isn't just about writing, it's about playing as your character. At pregame, players will send their character to me with the following character sheet:
Your character's name.
Your character's age.
Male or Female?
Hetero, Homo, etc.
Appearance and Personality:
Describe how your character will appear to be and what's their personality. Can be long or short, but not empty.
I know that all of this sounds all roleplaying and stuffs, but it's also like playing mafia, but not just the standard mafia where players post any post. Most of it is storytelling rather than playing mafia. The only thing that this game is mafia is that town still don't know who is who, and mafia knows who they are.
Does this sound okay? I really need opinions about this.

I don't see how it's different than regular mafia mechanically.

Maybe I should give out an example as to show what I'm trying to point out:
I guess this is a fine example.

This was done by somebody, I think maybe me. It was bad for all the normal reasons Hydrae are bad, and Hydra slips definitely happened often. Would not recommend.

I like roleplaying while playing mafia. I was invited to a site that did that, but I got into the swing of it. (I was some sassy latina girl hahaha) It was fun.

I have an idea for a Witcher 3 themed mafia game (and I fully realize I have not yet met the modding requirements), for some far off future date.
The Game will be heavily themed with lots of flavor and some special mechanics.
For now, I guess I'm looking for two things:
1. People who would be interested in playing a Witcher themed Mafia game (possibly out towards Christmas time or sooner depending on stuffs).
2. Anyone I could bounce ideas and thoughts off of, someone familiar with Playing the Witcher 3 would be good, someone who read the books would be a bonus, though either of these is not necessary.
I did a rough draft during the past week of 43 of the games main characters and cut it down to 25. So its looking to be a large themed game for 25 people.
Any thoughts either here or via PM are welcome.

I ran a Suikoden U-Pick game awhile back. Everyone kept calling Futch's Dragon a dog, because it could only make dragon noises in the game thread.
It didn't help that some players were actually dogs and squirrels, too.

I would be very interested in either playing in or participating in making another Suikoden game.

Still haven't finished the actual game for all the endings, but I think it's ripe for a theme game and would love to play one.
This sounds like it could be a really fantastic idea and I'd be all for playing in or even running with that idea.
In post 4512, Not Chara wrote:looking to gauge interest between a Binding of Isaac 13p or a Psychonauts 13p. both would be flavour-heavy, but Psychonauts more-so.
Both sound neat, NC, though you know I would be SO DOWN for that Psychonauts one--especially since I felt the unique PTs I crafted for Bloodborne Mafia didn't see as much use as they could. If you're unfamiliar with them, I highly suggest checking out the NIGHTMARE PT mechanic and the roles crafted around them:
