Jarvan / Rek'Sai / Wukong are probably the closest bets?

CHAMPION.GG HAS UPDATED
gosh everything is different guys

tahm kench's winrate is suddenly reliably over 50% everywhere except the jungle, where it's still 49.22%! he does best in toplane ofc

heimerdinger's winrate in both top and mid have dropped to 50%; he's just not exceptional anymore :(

teemo is more clearly a mediocre toplane pick; he doesn't even counter tryndamere anymore (whose winrate has risen to 56%)

rammus and malphite both have 57% winrates in toplane; they're also both great in the jungle; screw those guys

at least singed is consistent

holy crap urgot has a 52% winrate in toplane; a 52% winrate!!

garen ain't shit no mo

midlane hasn't changed much at least besides heimer's winrate falling

everyone who led the adcs last patch has been kicked off their patch; sivir is hurting the most; graves needs a friggin nerf

im getting urgot
right now

The biggest thing i see with the numbers, is nidalee needs some help, they nerfed the crap out of her last season, and she is just really falling to the wayside in terms of power, and that honestly needs to be fixed.

My opinions on Zed/Nidalee/etc in a nutshell:

GOOD. LET THEM ROT FOR A BIT. I'm sick of them being meta almost constantly. When they're good they're too good and force out other options from being decent. Unfortunately, they're riot love children, so they'll be buffed into OP again whenever they're not top tier.

I may be biased since nidalee is basically my most favorite champion, so that probably comes into play.

But honestly Nid hasn't been all that meta for months, and those that actually continued to pick her just got stomped by the meta champions, the only thing that remained meta was nidalee jungle, and that was fucked by 1 counter jungle early.

Well. I just played my first preseason game.

I feel so lost.

At least you have champion.gg though.

The masteries are actually fairly easy. Here's a cheat sheet someone made:

This patch is honestly just highlighting for me the sheer number of people who don't know people are coming even with wards.

i find that if i haven't played in a week or more, the first and most notable thing I struggle with coming back is map awareness.

Yeah but it's kinda rediculous how bad it is, like i can ward the entire map, some teams will still lose to ganks from mid/jungle and still blame the jungler 9/10 times.

I had a bot lane that blamed me as jungle for yas mid ganking them, legit i pinged his entire movement the entire 10 seconds of it, while he headed bot lane cause he walked through all the wards.

I think one time we didn't see him the whole 10 second trip and we still saw him long enough before that they could have backed up.

I just don't know if it's even worth me buying the warding jungle item at this point.

I stopped following League for a bit, based on my impressions of Reddit and I am correct that games end much faster now and that its harder to comeback?

Yes that would be accurate.

The games are definitely faster. I think Riot needs to tweak things substantially, but I generally love what they're doing. There's a lot more gold out there in general though, so to some extent the games are just compressing rather than snowballing really being worse.

I don't know, I feel the games have been mostly the same length, It takes slightly longer to get your devourer running.

I think it'd help if they put the mastery names on there, too, just for reference, but that works.

I also discovered that the Guinsoo's change also means that Varus goes from a 1 trick pony to a viable midflex, of which there are few.

I always loved AP Varus, but the super late game of it meant it felt like a worse Kog, regardless of how fun it was. However with the new Guinsoo's you have a viable first item pick that helps you have a midgame, which brings it from shitty to adequate. It's still not great, but with how good AD Poke Varus is in mid, it means that the surprise factor actually has merit now. You can feign an ad build for a little while in low leagues where people aren't checking your runes and masteries by grabbing the Pickaxe first, and the mastery changes are amazing too.

Build order will generally be now Guinsoo's / Hurricane / Nashor's / Magipen item / Situation last item.

All of the magipen options work, including wit's end. And a second can always be picked up later.

Of course it's still not the best build, but it does throw a change up in solo queue when you pick early and your entire team is AD or if they pick a hard engage comp to counter your poke. AP Varus plays a sustained damage game unlike the burst of AD Varus, which is very good for early mid picks.

Guinsoo's is pretty good, but only getting 1 stack per AA makes it less good, no?

I find that I am able to build it up with ranged champs from a couple of pot shots on the tank as the engage starts while I position to take out their backline as guinsoos kicks in. It's as much about proc management as old guinsoos, you just can't carry it as easily. It comes down to how mindful you are of how you play the fights. And as a ranged auto champ you generally want to be cleaning, and the timing of guinsoos kicking in synergises with when you want you damage burst to come in.

i just played an unending 55 minute game of League of Legends. Which might have been fun except I was soraka. Which meant I was pretty much just trying to make my teammates not do dumb things. Like Lucian mid who decided he wanted to hug annie in any team fight. sigh.

Same feeling when playing Tahm with stupid people. Karthus ult is channeling and they walk away from me instead of towards me. Sometimes I still regret flashing for such things
