They’ve been coasting but trying to stay under the radar, IMO. I don’t put much into the scumslip, but the rest of their posting has been pretty ingenuine.

Nah, I liked BB as a player on my old account back in the day. I enjoy that I am playing in a game with him on my new account. Following him is both a way to get me into this game, and as a reaction test of sorts.

Again I don’t care about the “slip” - I glossed over all flavor myself - but claiming PGO here I do not understand. It’s not inherently scummy, but it is an inherently anti-town move because it doesn’t help us to know that here. Theoretically it only helps scum.

People, I think the combination of nontown role and flavor skim explains not noticing Cobble=town better than town Role plus skim. I'm not certain it's a slip, but it's considerably better than a random lynch, and a PGO claim means he will never be NKed so we either lynch him or he lives to endgame. I don't think I've seen the kind of highly engaged scumhunting that it would take for me to think delaying this decision is wise.

I was a veteran of many cases, and I couldn't say I remembered a time when someone as arbitrarily picked out of a crowd as this Vorkuta guy had flipped scum. I also wasn't too keen on listening on anything the dancing fella had to say, on account of being such a poor detective, and I was surprised to see so many following him without asking any questions.

I thought it was important somebody let the monkey guy know that there was another wagon with the same number of votes. Didn't seem right to misrepresent the state of opinion to him like that. I thought it might be a good idea for him to iso Vorkuta and Doctor Drew himself and draw his own conclusions rather than following the loudest voices.

I took a moment to stress to the assembled crowd that I didn't think anyone had truly slipped up and admitted to being a mafioso. I detected a guilty conscience in the not so good doctor's words the old fashioned way. I found old fashioned ways usually survived long enough to become old fashioned for a good reason. Sometimes putting your nose to the grindstone and piecing things together logically pays dividends. Don't you forget that.

You didn’t explicitly say he was scummy, no. But IMO, you were pointing out a significant deviation from his town behavior in your experience. If that wasn’t scummy - then why?

I think Fonz has it right. Getting rid of a PGO claim today makes the game easier in the future, particularly because the power of the PGO in a setup like this (if it's accurate and Cobble sided) is it helps set up a landmine for cult, but now that it's announced, they'd be stupid to target him, and now we're left with someone who necessarily needs to either be lynched at some point or left to the end of the game. And having read his posts, even if he's town why would I trust him as a maybe-town champion for lylo? It's possible there exist powerrole ways to neutralize him, but I don't think we need or should speculate on that.

And with all that said, I think he's more likely than most to flip scum. I think he gambled on an early roleclaim here, but he did so in a way to basically assure that

despite claiming

no one wonders why he wasn't removed from the game. Since this is role madness with no vanilla townies, this is pretty much the best he can do. Claim a slightly negative town utility role that would never be nightkilled (never any "why are you still around" questions) but hope it makes people read him as town.

I'm not sure how much credence I give to the "slip" (out of what? 30? town roles in the game you'd expect some not to have digested the town name in the role PM and just registered "town" in their heads), but it's certainly plausible.

The vork wagon, on the other hand seems highly suspect. Scum aren't going to stick their necks out to try to get the governor power established. While I'm sure scum would love to own the governor power, I'm willing to bet 30 chkflip nickels that the vast majority of scum quietly tried to make their way onto a wagon, either on the no governor wagon or whatever other wagon popped up (mena or whoever). I really doubt they'd spend their time tilting at windmills trying to get themselves elected.
