Is this how Prism got their artifact?

I agree with Prism that Dunn's recent activity after getting called out doesn't make me feel better.

It feels like he's trying to give the impression that he's unbothered by the pressure, whereas town!Dunnstral would probably recognize the issues with his current play and... do better?

This is not a hot take, it's a good one.

Three of Dunny's four posts have been low effort nitpicks, and the other was a mechanics question that I didn't understand. 174 specifically doesn't sound like something town says, questioning specific players about their sangres read is one thing but shading everyone town reading them without explanation is useless. It reminds me of Titus vs. Alisae when I caught him for similar shady, nitpicky posting where he'd lurk and post full quote-wall catch ups taking potshots at random shit that never ended up forming into genuine reads or having real progression.

And while I've been scum in my three recently completed games, Dunn has been town in all of them and he it was obvious from his first few posts. That's not the case here.

Maybe I'm calling this out too early and it would have been better to see how he continues to play the game without my interference but I kinda want to try and this is me trying

So again, I ask you, what part of that post you quoted do you call a meltdown? Two mildly peeved posts, if even that level of annoyance is hardly a meltdown, but that's the word you used.

He was literally saying he was excited to play the game but was accepting that he was going to be elimmed after like one person attacked him. It was ridiculous.
LLD Mala Prism Bell Titus Dunn are one person. Some have stated they’ve checked out til elim phase. That’s not one person.
Are you saying I somehow attacked you?

After reading 8-20 this morning, I'd be a lot more interested in sheeping Spiffeh+SirCakez on Dunn vs. elimming Math this afternoon.

Still struggling really hard with my time management at the moment, but I'm hopeful about carve out a few hours this evening to focus on the game.
I am...rather happy the artifact went to LLD over Prism.

@Dunnstral, it appears possible in the rules for some characters to have started with an artifact, ahead of the N0 distribution.

I like Spiff, +SirCakez for the Dunn read and follow up, and I think SirCakez has been generally driving the game forward. With Spiffeh, I appreciate the willingness to TR Math and express discomfort with that wagon; I'm not all the way there yet on Math, but that's at least twice now they've posted something I thought was rather useful + aligned with how I'm reading the game.

I like Bell probably a lot more than I should at this point, this is almost entirely off of vibe and I don't know how well I'll be able to justify this read.
I like sangres, I like Tammy. Kitty Truama can also hang out in my town pile. LLD something something artifact claim something.

So as usual, I'm townbucketing way too many people; if I had to pick a few I feel strongest on, Spiff, SirCakez, sangres for weird reasons. I should put LDD here, but in the absence of the claim stuff, I wouldn't have TRed them personally.

I think those are most or all of the standouts at this point. I'm enjoying aggressive/abrasive Prism, but I don't like it just yet. Bjork + LLD confirmed to own artifacts at this point, that should make for an interesting night.

In terms of negatives, besides following the logic on Dunn, who I like as a vote because it helps resolve 1.65 townies (though I'll be paying attention to how many people seem willing to jump on that wagon real quick, myself included), and who I'm interested to see in the context of pressure on them (pedit: I want to think harder about the couple of posts Dunn has posted while I was writing this up):

I've gotten really no feelings from Pooky other than that damn avatar being a clear AtE and clouding my judgment, I just never know how to sort Titus, every system I've heard presented in prev. games has worked out terribly for the town I've been in, from context, it seems that BM picks up sus early in the game pretty regularly, but I havn't seen any townpings there yet, have a few spots even lurkier than mine which is a method of reading I'm not too keen on, and that about covers the field.

Still pretty slammed today, but I'm committed to carving out that time late tonight; order of operations will be trying to break up/sort out my town pile into some kind of sensible grouping/order, figure out who doesn't make sense in combination, and review the positioning around Math and Prism this morning.

Most of this is re: quiet, originally had a vote here but I'll keep holding off. Bottom is a response to Dunn.

Quote about being glad to see the artifact go to LLD over me is weird and out of place, especially given that you didn't TR them outside of the claim (and appeared to think mine was town earlier, even if paranoid).

These reads aren't bad but the reasoning is really lacking imo based off who you've seen flip what in prior games, and your better understanding of range.

Best part of this post is probably the second half, combination pairings might have looked good after Iceland but are generally an illusionary hope and should just be abandoned to later days.

Saying 'because of my character' when you're claiming vt doesn't answer the question mechanically. What you quote isn't a response to what I asked.

You asked two questions. One was about expecting modifiers. I didn't answer that here because I already explained it in 472.

The question you just asked was what mechanism I got my artifact through. I answered both via quote and directly all capsing at you telling you that players can start with artifacts in their inventory. Mine ~just happens~ to be related to my character flavor. This absolutely answers the question of how it was mechanically distributed.

I can quote all fucking day dude but you have to read the game.

The mod post I quoted answers my question. You telling me things doesn't, because I don't have a reason to believe you when you claim like that

Right, well, I hope that by working together with the table you will be able to come to a conclusion on whether or not this falls under "other artifact distribution mechanisms", I wish you the absolute best of luck in your long and perilous journey.

Maybe if we're lucky we will get a mass artifact start/no artifact start claim Day 1.

Prism, there is no universe where I'm going to be happy about the entire game TRing you so hard day1 as to hand you an artifact after last game. Sorry. Respect your scumgame way the fuck too much for that, regardless of the mechanical stuff that I buy this game. I can light townread you, and not want to hand you ULTIMATE POWER (or at least, a bit o power).

Maybe after I hear more from Bjork, see how the mechanics of the artifact that was already passed around go, see you flip some people, I'll shift my opinion a bit. But yeah, I'm happy to see artifact not go to you day1, cause scum! You has fucked up reasons for wanting it, and town! You can earn another one later when I feel less paranoid. Frankly, I'm surprised this is in any way surprising to you.
Prism wrote:These reads aren't bad but the reasoning is really lacking imo based off who you've seen flip what in prior games, and your better understanding of range.
Agree, as I said, pressed for time, and it's showing. I'm going to need to take a slightly different strategy to what I have up to this point; I think last bit of my post is a reasonable place to start. I don't think my reasoning is particularly strong at the moment, but I wanted to put a flag down as to where I'm standing based on what amounts to a single read-through of the thread; hopefully a more concerted effort tonight results in some higher value stuff.

@Dunn I wouldn't lock them both scum if you flip town; I'd strongly consider (i'd have to make sure i'm getting my order correct) Spiff? I think? For jumping on? Also probably peer at Math some more, as you are a counterwagon there. But it's early days, lots of people still to chime in, and there are about a million ways my read could be bad.

Is this how Prism got their artifact?
This is where I am torn. Based on day play I believe you are scum. However this is what I think dooms Prism.

This says a set number of Artifacts exist in the game as a whole.
If a number of artifacts are unable to be distributed (say X), then a priority list of who gets an artifact has been set by the mod.
What this means is that if X artifacts are unable to be distributed then it follows a priority list generated by the mod.

My theory is that scum know this priority list and want me gone because of it and Prism did not pick Bork. Either scum gave the Trident to Bork intentionally or Bork happened to be at the top of the list for credit.

HG to anyone who has watched the show would be a horrible flavor to try to confirm because (spoiler alert) as she betrays the warehouse and comes back into the fold later. That betrayal is centered around the Trident.

You’re asking us to believe this distribution applied N0 and that you wanted to confirm a flavor that is possibly scum and you’re a VT doing so?

That’s sketchier than LLD’s mason claim.

My guess is we’re all vanilla here except for artifacts with the exception of maybe one to two players at most besides the masons if they exist at all. If this sounds familiar it’s similar in mechanics to Civ 6. Ring a bell anyone?

I will respond to the rest more in depth after work but I find it really hard to believe that Prism wants to confirm HG as town. I wonder if there is a traitor. OP said 4 mafia...I wonder if they share a PT or one could be traitor.

Furthermore I am sketched out that Bork never confirmed anything specific so we don’t know if Bork actually got it.

So this is just weird. I don’t like it and maintain my objection and if I am miselimmed while I am at work artifacts always go to townreads. Assume LLD is scum until/unless she proves a mason buddy as she is breaking the cardinal rules of how she operates. Her play today is absolute garbage and she should be ashamed.

Math, I'm going to ask you a shitty question

I'm...I've seen a fair amount of "garbage" town plays in my short time on this site. I've seen a lot of Day1 claims. Almost expect it to a point.

My gut reaction to what you just posted was to feel like you were, in the words of Prism earlier I believe, blatantly fishing for a second Mason claim. Is Mason a high frequency fake claim?
More importantly, fmpov, why should I believe that a LLD fakeclaim is more likely than you fishing? I'm not sure I understand the utility of you fishing here, which makes my point worse than it would otherwise be, but from someone who was getting geared up to go and see if I could make a reasonable TownBlade case, I'd like a bit more context.

I'm also not sure I'm whole in agreement about the role speculation; I feel like theres a few flavorful ways I could see masons working, but fair point that theres prob less roles due to the presence of artifacts.
