Once again, I apologize.
I was relying on a lot of my own credibility to help people get over the initial theme change, but it seems like I couldn't live up to that credibility.
I was really excited for the L5R setup and I might just run it as a standalone, perhaps.
Anyway, thoughts?

Thanks Varsoon for running it as far as you did.
I won’t be able to really type much til after work.

ILU Varsoon I'm sorry things kept getting in the way of the game.
Gamma, shooting your own teammate was going to give you a .01% chance of winning. I would have lynched you in LYLO, but not before then, after Chara was able to see that you actually did redirect a kill and didn't just perform one. IDK what everyone else would have done though.
Random, why did you have to be bad?

Also...I didn't look at the whole setup, but Varsoon: What portion of the town could I have cleared via having them target me and getting beamed if we had used the thing that kept scum from using their mechs?

@Cerb: It'd only soft-clear people with day actions, since the [BEAM] votes wouldn't be around for the following day phase. You'd only really be able to soft-clear Nancy Drew and Snarky Snowman, as the Guncannons and Hyaku Shiki would disable your Mobile Suit. Even then, this is making the assumption that no player could've put a [BEAM] vote on you during the day, which I really should've given scum the player-based ability to do. Instead, I strapped them with loud pro-town abilities. The idea was that, in this phase, scum would be putting out false positives. Didn't really happen. Scum also had some degree of counterplay, given they could shut down the day phase.

I think I would have before hand. I know I was town but Gamma scum has to lock me in as town anyway. There's no way to get there from his perspective. I actually suspected Gamma shot his buddy and was hoping Chara was relaying to help me sort it out fwiw.

I should also note that Scum did get to decide which, and how many, of their members ended up at the Parliament.
Here's their Strategems:
Welcome to the Strategem Phase for Gundam Mafia. You have 48 hours to vote for a Spacenoid Stratagem. Failure to do so will result in no Stratagem being implemented.
Your choices for Day 3, UC 0087 are as follows:
Operation Stardust : Players vote to end the Day Phase rather than lynch. The Scum team controls two unstoppable kills at Night.
Minovsky Particle Proliferation : Every single Non-Factional Non-Strategem PT is permanently locked; the remaining PTs (including Scum PT) become Night Chat only for the rest of the game.
Treaty at Granada : The Day Phase is reduced to 48 hours in length.
And their factionals:
(ANY THEME) :
Each Night phase, a member of this faction must decide on a player to kill. This killing action does not count against your normal actions restrictions.
(ANY THEME) :
You may chat in this thread at any time.
(UNDERTALE MAFIA) :
During the Pacifist Route, your faction controls a factional ability to target a player at Night and cause their Night Actions to fail.
(UNDERTALE MAFIA) :
During the Genocide Route, your faction controls a factional ability to target a player at Night and learn what their role is.
(GUNDAM MAFIA) :
Your factional kill is submitted independent of any player and does not count as an action that any player takes--it can also never fail.
I ended up stacking a lot of power on both sides of this game, eeeeh.

Although I do feel that having the scum kill be an independent kill that can't be tracked back to a player (as a public mechanic) could lend itself well to setups that have trackers/watchers/motion detectors. You'd do away with the issue of being able to absolute confirm someone as scum.

*nods*
Yeah, I figured it would be soft-clearing only, but just didn't know the numbers. Only 2 works, since that's a small enough pool to minimize the value. Had it been like 4 or 5, then I could have reasonably inferred that scum didn't have a huge number of beam votes to throw around, so it would have been functionally the same as the parliament thing in terms of creating a pool that potentially contained a limited number of scum.
How did you choose the membership of the parliament?

Did scum know about future phases/theme changes in advance?

No, scum were in the dark and only got new role cards, factionals, and info with the start of each new theme.

Yeah, the problem with the Chara thing was that he ACTUALLY SAW HIM REDIRECT. :-/ I don't really understand why he actually shot his buddy as well as did a redirection action though, it sorta looks like(based on actions taken, not on roles, which I haven't dug into yet) that there could have been 3 scum kills that night?
*shrug* Maybe things aren't as they appear. I did forget that Gamma was part of the Parliament though, so that would have made it more likely he wouldn't live as long....

Bad as in why did you have to roll scum???
Not bad in the game etc. Yeah, the whole hood creation thing with the timing and stuff was too much of a technical play for the specific individuals you were targeting at least. Had you made hoods with less active/attentive players you'd have been good I think? I didn't notice the timing myself at first because I was so shocked at getting screwed out of my next question.
If it's not covered in the scum PT, why did you guys go with that whole line anyways? With the quicklynch etc?

Sorry I had to replace out of this one. I thought I could maybe handle a large with the flavor being my biggest hobby. Turns out larges still aren’t my thing and the magic flavor didn’t last long anyway. I had the game bookmarked and was loosely following. Sorry to see it get abandoned because it looks like Varsoon put a ton of time into making it.

I'd been bouncing this theme-swapping concept around for awhile, and was thinking it would be really cool to build a setup (or collab with 2 other mods) where 3 different setups are rotated constantly. Players would vote on which one they wanted to change to next, with the rule that no setup could happen twice in a row. Each setup would have dynamically changing roles and features, similar to how these first 3 setups worked.

Ah.
Hmm. That wagon DID have a high probability of dissolving, so that was a valid concern. I don't think any of them would have been next in line though, so unless they were universally terrified of the effect Mastina/Yume would have had on things+didn't want to shoot them i don't think it dissolving was something to be too concerned about.
