say at this point... an understandable bandwagon was formed on me, I explained my lack of posting, and then you make a comment that, while possibly not intended to be, seemed quite abrasive. You also make it seem as if there is some sort of evidence in this thread that points to me being scum, and that my post was somehow inadequate to answering that evidence. If you want to point to something specific (aside from my lack of posting, which I've explained and apologized for already) for me to defend myself against, I'll be happy to try... but until then, you're being overly aggressive with little or no reason, IMO.

I'd consider switching to PeaceBringer (for claiming to hate lurkers, but excusing the lurker's behavior while being quite vague -- twice -- about his vote on me. Dislike of "flow" and an accusation of being "spurious" are hardly explanatory...that looks like hopes of creating a rival wagon without having to actually make a case, to me) -- but I think Dourgrim's the sounder vote here.

Okay, I read through the thread. I do thing MeMe is being a little over-agressive especially since Dour posted the reason that he wasn't available in the Vacation thread. But I don't know if her being over-agressive makes her scum. Would she be this blatant? I don't know.

As I said right after Dourgrim's first post: my post about putting more pressure on him so that he'd treat us to a "blustering display of indignance at our gall" (which I thought was pretty obviously jokey...but whatever) wasn't intended as an insult...but to get him to post something of content or to get the game moving along if he didn't. What PeaceBringer and halfpint seem to be ignoring is the fact that, although Dourgrim finally got his connection back -- he

didn't

post anything of content. This is his post:

. I'm really surprised that I'm getting voted (or accused of aggressiveness -- or encouraged to semi-claim) for what I think is a perfectly reasonable expectation on my part.

I just realized that, though he says he hates lurkers, he was acting as one in this game for 9 days (posting randomly the day it opened and then reappearing yesterday), but was all over the board elsewhere...so, I'm guessing he's got some self-loathing issues...?

He's also still not provided any reason for voting me, though he's posted 7 times elsewhere since I pointed out his two-time vagueness in that regard (so I'm sure he's read my post by this time). Looks to me as though he's sitting back and hoping for momentum -- I'm thinking that my idea that he might be trying to start something against me without real input might be bang-on.

After going through the posts, PeaceBringer seems suspicious to me. So far he has made a couple of odd posts and in the one that has a vote for meme he doesn't really give reasoning as to why he votes her. And he isn't very specific at all in any of his posts...

Also, as meme pointed out, he had a large gap after his random vote and his next post and then later goes on to say that he hates lurkers...

Just so you know, if one or two RL days go by and there hasn't been any voting/unvoting, I will usually set a dead line in place for 5 days from then (a decent amount of time to get action going.)

Woah, hold on a minute. First, you say there was nothing going on in the thread -- true -- and that even MeMe said so -- true -- and you vote for the person that was trying to get something to happen the most? On the same basis, am I also suspicious? Because the reason I'm voting for dour right now (although I won't be by the end of this post) is the same as meme's. When a lurker gets back I expect a little more than "I didn't have a connection, sorry."

Further, you agree that there's nothing happening in the thread. Yet, you also say that you find other people suspicious, but don't say who they are. Eventhough you agree that there's nothing going on. You rather go for lurkers. Lurkers are a last resource, when there's nothing else to go on. If there are suspicious people, please point them out, because they are more likely to be scum than a lurker.

The reason that I am not saying anything because I'm not sure. I can certainly be reading in to things too much, which I definitely tend to do. So, I wanted to wait (as I said) and hear from everyone else. You think that people who are posting are more likely to be scum then a lurker? I don't necessarily know if that is true. Scum can lie in wait (we've all seen it happen) and watch other townies go at each other.

I voted for MeMe because I wanted to hear from her. I heard from her and decided based on what she that she was a townie.
