No word from polotet, I'm going to e-mail him, I'm sure he just hasn't been checking the site. If he doesn't check in by the end of the game day, I'll have him replaced.

Vote Count:

Dragon Phoenix (2) Ningal, Polotet
Quagmire (2) massive, Dourgrim
massive (2): Dirge, CurtainDog
Polotet (1): DP
mneme (1): Quagmire

Back from Gencon. Was fun, didn't get to play Mafia or Werewolf, though (but did get to suggest some of the more "common" Mafia roles to Andy Looney as Werewolf Promos!).

Anyways....
FOS Quagmire
, because I don't find his defense all that convincing -- I -do- find DP's defense of him quite useful, but we don't know DP's sanity (and while idleness is -normally- a good excuse for voting, with Mafiascum as unstable as it's been, this is less useful as a guide)..
And because he voted for me -twice- without unvoting; aside from being really bad play, this also seems a classic attempt at deflection.

Now...without more roleclaims, there's only one real bandwagon, and since DP is a good enough player to not (I suspect) link himself to Quag without a good reason...

I'm also back from GenCon.

unvote: Quagmire
because DP claims he's innocent and we have little else to go on at the moment.

I'm withholding my vote until conversation ensues.

I went over the thread again tonight and as I re-read the thread I had a real urge to vote Quagmire right up to the part where DP "cleared" him. Until DP is proven to receive poor information or something else is revealed about Quag I won't vote him.

I will have to go with the second most suspicious person I have found. This happens to be the person I am currently voting for: massive. He hasn't said much except to admire Sugar and then say:
massive wrote:Besides, if I was going to off experienced players, I'd start with DP or Polotet, and then probably you, before I got to Sugar. =]
So, he acknowledges the merit of offing experienced players.

But, he puts Sugar, a player he admires for her skills low on his “proper” hit list.

I think that he is trying to throw us off his trail.

. Why? Just to be bandwagonous. I know that it's bad, but its the only thing that we have going for us right now, and day ends in a day.

This is crap logic. My statements did not connect "experience" with "good play," which is what you're implying here, Dourgrim. I do not know if Sugar is experienced or not; I do know, however, that DP and Polotet have been in many of the old Mafia games that I have read. My experience with Sugar has been solely from the game we played together.

I'm not trying to throw you off my trail. And since this is probably my last attempt at defense (I'm on a plane tomorrow for Colorado), I will even tell you that I am nothing but a simple townie, which bummed me out to no end. The reason I was so late to confirm was because my role PM had gotten lost in the mail, and I was expecting a good role in return.

I actually suspect that Dourgrim is trying to throw people ONTO my trail. And I am going to keep my vote on Quagmire for the time being - there's no reason to believe DP is competent despite being a cop.

I'm not seeing anything useful on anyone else; massive does feel slightly icky, but just about everyone feels icky when they're mounting a defense (except quercitron, but he isn't in this game). (And townie is my general claim when mafia, though there are known better tactics out there...)

So imagine my level of shock and irritation when I log on today and find that massive is ranting and raving about a quote he attributes to me, when in fact it was
Dirge
who made the above statements.

vote: massive
for what I suspect is deliberate misdirection... or possibly colossal carelessness. Either way, if he's telling the truth about his (lack of) significant role, he's no great loss at this point. Personally, I believe him to be lying (and therefore scum) at this point. To wit: he continues to vote for a cop-confirmed innocent, he misleads the Town with faulty quotes in order to spread confusion, and he plays the "darn it, I'm just a poor lil' townie" card when the bandwagon gets really moving.

An angry crowd gathers at the house of massive, declaring him scum for various reasons.

He protests: "I'm townie! Boring, boring, boring townie! Killing me will do nothing!" The whine of his claim seals it-- he's going down. The crowd surges on him. Massive's body lies limp, but the whining hasn't stopped. An ethereal form rises above the mass, cursing them

Massive is dead. Night Two has begun.

Night Two

Midnight:
A figure with a wickedly curved knife stealthily sneaks into Ningal's house... He does his work with such skill that Ningal doesn't even realize their death until awakening, the killer back in bed soon after his crime has been comitted.

Soon after, three shots ring. The only sign of their presence is a broken window. And, of course, CurtainDog's lifeless body in his bed.

Ningal and CurtainDog are dead. They may no longer vote or use any night abilities

One O'Clock

CRiX paces over his grave, occasionally looking at his own ethereal hand in disgust. He is almost glad as he sees an old man with a strange backpack with a nozzle attached to it. "Thank God..." he mutters, as the man proceeds to take him off of the earth.

CRiX (Destroyer) is DESTROYED. He may no longer post

Day Two has begun, Four to Lynch, no DEADline set

Note: I'm in the process of replacing Polotet

Does this first paragraph puzzle anyone else? I see that Ningal is dead but who does "their" refer to?

This is very interesting. Dragon Phoenix is not dead, he claimed inspector, and the doctor is dead. Does anyone find this to be suspicious? Would the evils want to kill Dragon Phoenix, when he claims inspector and the Doctor is dead (and destroyed, for that matter)?

Me being still alive is another wierd occurence...o_0

I'm pretty sure that's just a writing mistake. =p

Okay, so what makes ME curious is why would anyone destroy CRiX? It's not like he was providing any brilliant insights. From what I can tell, the only people who would are pro-towns trying to check an identity, and people with a win condition of a certain number of people destroyed.

Also, it looks like whoever destroyed CRiX was not the one who destroyed Sugar?was it?

Odd that DP didn't die during the night, but I'll wait for his result.

OK, a couple of things:

Mod?
May I assume that Ningal and CurtainDog are allowed to
post
but not allowed to
vote
because they are dead but not destroyed?

I'm going to begin the day with a
vote: Quagmire
because it is indeed curious that he lived through the night as a "confirmed innocent", and because I have other reason to suspect him more than DP at this time, although I don't want to go into detail quite yet until I'm sure of my facts (i.e. have time to reread the thread and make sure I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing, etc.). Sorry for the vagueness, but it can't be helped right now.

Well, I'm as surprised as anybody that I'm still alive. Probably the two killers/killing groups hoped that the other one would do the job.
Anyway, I have found another innocent. Unfortunately.
I will not reveal the name until there is a chance of lynching him/her.

Dirge: I'd say it probably means that either a) modboy forgot my gender or b) the death scene was rewritten and that pronoun was overlooked. :)

I am not suprised that DP is still alive. I'd say there is a good chance we have a back-up doc or some kind of mystic healer (given the Ghost Busters type theme) left in this game. The mafia probably assumed that DP was protected.

I am still very suspicious of Quagmire. Why do you assume that you would have been targeted last night?

DP, your investigation of Quag, was it vague and you assumed that he was innocent or did it come right out and say: townie? I didn't go back and look at your original post.

Why do I suspect DP being alive is suspicious? Simple:

He claims inspector, and says I'm innocent. Now, wouldn't the Mafia want to kill the inspector? The only counterargument I see to this is that Dragon Phoenix is suspicious, so maybe the townspeople would kill him themselves. But think about it, wouldn't the Mafia just want to do their job insptead of stretching it out over time? It's too much of a risk to let the inspector still live.

Boo!

Haunting you all, especially DP at the moment.

If the maf didn't want to go after the claimed inspector then they would've left open the option of the lynching him the next day.

Instead, two of the people on the initial bandwagon (ningal and myself) are dead (and the other, polotet, is MIA).

You do the math...

The only alternative I see to 'DP scum' is 'DP naive and Quag scum', and thus the maf is happy to let DP live.

The
only
this, the
only
that.... please open up your mind everyone. There are numerous scenarios which would explain the game so far. Talking about "the only" is balderdash.
