Cybertronix are you town?
I find it highly unlikely that both SE's would be of the same alignment.

All roles are randomized so there's no possibility for that kind of WIFOM. I was being pretty blatantly facetious, hence why I targeted Cybertronix with that comment so it would be more apparent that I wasn't being entirely serious.

Post 4 comes long before post 12 if I recall.

Mr E Roll replaces scrote kicker

Hello everybody,

Just a little background about my experience before I jump right into the game.

I’ve played a mafia variant called werewolf a handful of times before finding the mafiascum website. I’ve played two games onsite here. So I’m technically SE qualified however it has been well over a year since I’ve played so I’m just getting my feet wet again.

I’d like to hear about everybody’s else experience with the game if you don’t mind. I know this is a newb game so most of you haven’t played much on this site but have you played IRL or on another forum?

OK… onto the game.

MrZepher you’ve said some things that raise my eyebrow…

MrZepher wrote:

If you find it unlikely that both SE’s are the same alignment if you are town wouldn’t you want to know if Cybertronix was scum. Seems to me you phrased that question how scum would have. And yes I realize that you are trying to pass it off as a joke to amuse yourself. But maybe that’s because you can’t amuse yourself by scum hunting since you already know who scum is.

MrZepher wrote:You're putting an awful lot of pressure on what are basically really insignificant things and I'm starting to get curious as to why.

Isn’t applying pressure in the interests of town why don’t you want Jasonwazza pressuring people?

MrZepher wrote:

I personally don't like RVS to go on for too long it's too easy for scum to cause people to froth at the mouth
that was my attempt to nudge us out of it hence the "/sillybutnotreally" part.
If it made me look scummy then, fine. It was worth.

You don’t like RVS to go for too long but you don’t change your opening random vote even after concluding that at least one scum is on Ribbit’s bandwagon? Why not change your vote to put pressure on the people bandwagoning Ribbit?

Based on these concerns….

Vote:MrZepher

I've played a few games of mafia on a different forum and two games of werewolf with a group of friends where I used to live.

For the sake of discussion, I find the distinction between asking "Are you town?" and "Are you scum?" to be entirely trivial.

I've played in several off-site games, so I'm pretty experienced, but this is my first game on-site.

I like the replacement, btw both Capitan Ribbit and MrZepher are at L-2 now (2 before being lynched)

MrZepher's reaction to his wagon seems more like nervous scum backtracking then town backtracking so vote is staying.

You may be right.

But either way the question was asked the only obvious answer would be for Cybertronix to assert that he is town. Therefore the only way for Mr. Z’s hypothesis to be correct is for him to be scum.

Honestly the only use for a question like "are you town/scum?" is fluff which is wasteful.

Can we move into a non stupid discussion please?

wow. so this how serious this game is..... O.o just learned this game from a friend... xD

sorry for RVS, gonna take it seriously now. :)
But still haven't got a reason to change votes.
Since two has already L-2 status, but still hasn't been lynched....
I must assume that 2 voters on a L-2 status guy are the scum, including me (muahahaha xD)
but the problem is the players that haven't responded to the recent votes yet, one of them can be a scum. :(

Wow, this game is fun and thought provoking xD

Want to point out exactly where I've backtracked there Tex?
So far it's been clarification, not me going "oh wait... well..."
Even that aside, backtracking is rarely a scumtell in my experience.

I would move my vote if I felt I had a decent place to put it.
mostly due to lack of relevant discussion (which is my own fault since I'm playing pretty defensively while waiting for people to appear in thread)
My vote in its current place presents no threat to anybody.

To answers Rolls question on experience I've played quite a few games on site, and I play pretty often IRL. Feel free to meta me if you want. Though I'm fresh off a hiatus and I just finished two games and am involved in one other game which according to site rules I'm not allowed to link to or reference until it is complete (pointed out for the sake of posterity).

This is really bad logic especially for an RVS wagon.

I'm gonna go grab a VC from a recent game that will show scum vs town in RVS

Backtrack;

When you said you "/beingsillybutnotreally" meaning you believed it to some point, meaning you are backtracking.

Also in my experience backtracking over saying that you are wrong is scummy because you have to change your statement to be right in the hope that it is looked over.

I would move my vote if I felt I had a decent place to put it.

Eh i may have missed this bit in his post, RQS is generally frowned upon on this site BUT all my meta etc. is in my wiki.

Reham008, why did you vote Captain Ribbit after there had already been two votes, and then keep your vote there after there was already attention to that wagon?
I might not be clear with that question. If you need me to clarify let me know.

@Jason
The only way your vote is in the right place is if you're consciously trying to vote town. This is a scum move.
You're already tunneling a single player on page 3 when there has been little to no game relevant discussion.
This is not town motivated action. If you would like to move attention elsewhere and come back to me after real discussion has started where people are able to form legitimate reads then I'm okay with that. I'll respond to you then (I might even remind you!). In the meantime I'm going to brush off your case until it's better thought out and not blatantly misrepresenting my actions :)

This is a very scummy thing to do MrZepher, you have just said you are town, can you prove it? NO, then don't fucking say it.

Yes i am tunneling on currently the most scummy person in the game CAUSE YOU LOOK LIKE SCUM, 2 others agree so saying that this is a scum move is instantaneously FALSE (at least 1 townie is voting this guy).

Also "i'm ignoring your case because it's not thought out" is a terrible defense.

You say i am misrepping you, PROVE IT.

Also good to know your happy keeping a no pressure vote ontop of not doing anything to the case against you, this is scummy as fuck.

Why is RQS frowned on? It helps generate discussion this is especially important in a newb game where discussion can quickly die down. Any discussion is good for town, you never know when somebody will slip.

Also I wasn’t asking about peoples meta’s I was more interested in their experience. Reason being if somebody tells me they have played dozens of games and then we catch them with a scum slip later I don’t want them to be able to pass this off as “I’m a newb not scum” situation.

Posted: Fri Mar 01, 2013 2:35 am

Experience isn't game relevant and in most cases RQS produces fluff over discussion, that is why RQS is frowned upon.

If you believe that both scum are contained within the subgroup of six players currently on the two biggest bandwagons why isn’t that a reason to change your vote?

Do you intend on actively doing anything to have a reason to change your vote or are you content to sit back and hope others generate enough discussion to give you a reason to change your vote?

MrZepher... I jumped on the bandwagon because I just want to hasten the game so that I can learn faster, and it sure did.... xD
But I didn't change because I saw an opportunity... ;)

Mr. E Roll... because if they're already inside a subgroup, then only a townie can make a lynch happen, and since all of townies...no, players are paranoid, they won't join the bandwagon... hence there won't be a lynch because of just a L-2 status.. (I hope) xD
And is that a persuasion to get my vote off MrRibbit?? >:-) And also, you're on the other L-2 bandwagon.. hmmm, suspicious >:-)
I'm a newcomer here, and my friend that introduced to this site didn't said anything about discussions, so I didn't gave them much thought, but don't worry, I have a newfound appreciation for discussions thanks to your 1st question. :)

JasonWazza... no, that isn't what I meant, since they aren't active, they haven't seen the votes so they didn't react to the votes yet...
and if both of them are scum, they can vote on the same person and get that person lynched..
My assumption is a useless one, since it assumes that two of them already belongs to the same bandwagon BUT I haven't thought about
the suspicion it would bring to the last two voters, so the scum would avoid voting on last two.
Since I forgot to think about that part, it is a stupid assumption.

My goal for this first game is to learn all I can. :)
I don't care about winning, I just want to have fun with mind games, and wow, this is more than enough! :D
And with this, I think I'm attracting a lot of attention, which my friend says is bad. xD
I still don't know why... but I think I'm a gonna learn it soon. xDD

And while I'm typing this, Xtian UNVOTED a L-2 status, which just opened a window for the scums.... -_-
More than that, it's the one that Mr. E Roll is trying to peel my vote off........
