I apologize for not posting often. I have to go to school, and with the end of the year and lots of projects being due, I can't be on all of the time (and my school's wifi blocks this website). It's annoying to use this website on an iPod, but I'll see what I can manage.

Oh, I completely understand richard. I was just in the same boat the end of December. Just would like to see your thoughts on people.

Checking in, you guys are doing decently well on your own.
Richard Pings my scumdar... I would like to hear more from him

Activity is the way to go. Pressure-checks and read-presses are what you need to do.
Besides, I'm already pretty darn sure I have my first scum, so I'm just waiting for the second one to slip.
Shadi, your vote is cute, love you too. But seriously, don't be an asshat, it's cabd not cab.

Thoughts so far:
TheEsquire- Town
Cabd- Town, but I can see scum potential there w/ the aggression.
richardfrost- The 'good luck' is fishy for the same reason Shadi's post is fishy. Scummy
Lazurial- Town
Shadi1337- Scummy for the reasons as posted by Cabd, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, as a fellow newbie.
jonpiolo- We need a post w/ content to get a read.
Xegarus- Holding this one until he returns from V/LA
Jebus- " "
Ms Marangal- I'd like to see more game related conversation. I understand you don't want to drive the wagon, but I'd like to see some full interaction myself. Town.
These are far from concrete, but I want to be more active this game than I was last, so I'm trying to get a full set of reads out rather than a patchy indecisive set.

Laz, pretty sure you accidentally flipped shadi and jonpiolo there. I have nothing against shadi really. It's piolo that is the scum.

When I read I was about to say I don't remember Cabd mentioning me o0.
I do partially agree with Cabd's perception of Jon though just think he's not my number 1 for now.
And Laz, please don't give me the benefit of doubt just because I'm a newb. I'm somewhat experienced just never played on this forum yet and I know how stuff runs so if you think I'm a scum then go ahead and vote/react upon it as you would with an experienced player.

I did flip them. My bad. I don't expect any mercy from you guys either. It's simply the lens that it could be a newbtown slip just as much as it could be a newbscum slip.

I think we could expect newbslips in a newbgame, no?

Why hold mine while i'm V/LA?
There are others that are in V/LA that you gave a read on.

Your only posts have been one RVS, an introduction as the SE, and a post declaring yourself V/LA. I don't want to random-place you without a few posts of your interactions. It's the same reason I'm holding the others.

Whoops. Looked back over and found your other post.
You're looking town to me at this point.

Busy or not, I'd still like to hear from richard before I consider changing my vote. I know he's somewhat occupied at the moment, but the old saying I used to always hear was "Scum have a real lives too." and it's always been something I keep in mind.

Ok. I've been on for the past few minutes, and I've been paying more attention to the posts (random votes with no purpose don't have too much reason, do they?) and I've got a basic idea. (I'm going to look even harder later.)
TheEsquire (Esquire): Wants to get someone lynched on day 1: not too bad. "Completely understands" my situation, but yet says "scum have [a?] real lives too." Only person voting for me. I don't hold it against him: I realize I haven't been talking much, causing suspicions.
Cabd: Reasonable (except when joking, no problem there.) However, seems to be a bit trigger happy, springing on everyone (Even for one person saying "May the best team win", which I don't see has a slip.) Slightly suspicious.
Richardfrost: I need to talk more.
Lazurial (Laz): Wants to get a wagon started? But then, just to get conversation started. I don't know what to think.
Shadi1137 (Shadi): Not showing many strong opinions. Seems strongly town, although he could be biding his time.
Jonpolio (Jon): Voted for someone for no reason. Especially Shadi, which as I said above looks strongly town. Said good luck to everyone, showing no team. No opinion, slightly mafia suspicions.
Xegarus (Xeg): Not talking much. V/LA, which I am ok with. Null read.
Jebus (Can I call you Jeb?): Only a post for V/LA, and a random vote. Null read.
Ms Marangal (Mara?): Currently V/LA. Gives good advice, I need to talk more. Does not like when people don't answer her questions. No idea here.
Esquire and Laz are some of my picks. Maybe also Cabd or maybe Jon or Jeb.
That's all I can gather for now.

This is my reasoning for starting a wagon.
(I'll admit I don't have mafia experience, so if the following is false, please correct me.)
My definition of a wagon is a group of people pushing someone to L-1/L-2 while someone who hasn't voted them plays guilty until proven innocent. The point of a wagon is to force conversation. Putting someone in a precarious situation gives people something to talk about. The more people talk, the more likely someone is to slip. If someone presents an acceptable defense, the wagon moves on. If someone makes a slip big enough to earn the wagon's attention, the wagon moves to them. This continues until someone fails to make a decent defense, at which point you see a lynch. A lynch in turn creates more conversation, and the cycle continues.

Mara is fine, any nickname is fine as long as I know I'm the one being addressed.
What slip Jebus?

I'm operating under the assumption that jebus meant the obvious scum slip I noticed that piolo made a page ago.
To you people saying I'm aggressive, that's the point! Good luck getting serious reads by sitting on your bum and having hugs and cuddles with everyone.

Requesting a prod for Jonpiolo.

jonpiolo is being prodded for inactivity.
Xegarus has requested replacement.
Just so players understand procedure - the OP has been updated to reflect the replacement while making sure that the players can identify who replaced whom. All future Votecounts will reflect the replacement, but for simplicity's sake will do so without identifying the player who was replaced.
A retaliation vote, I know we're in the RVS but I like to place my votes with at least a little bit of reason so.. yeah eye for an eye.
VOTE: jonpiolo
Will of course remove the vote if interesting information will be added, although I doubt that happening this early on.
Good luck everybody, hope we'll have an awesome game together.
much too nervous about voting, and OVEREXPLAINING it, along with promises of removing it ASAP.
not a town mindset.

Are you incapable of reading?
First, it's a retaliation vote, that's a reason to place a vote (he went on me, RVS or not). While announcing that I will remove my vote IF better information is given, and I held onto my promise.
It seems like we have another aggressive player along with Cab now, which I don't mind but being aggressive and unable to make a proper read is not a good combination.

The point is WHY did you feel the need to defend your vote, and make it basically meaningless in the first place? With your post, you might as well not have voted at all, cause you promise to remove it asap.
Defensive scum.

by Shadi1337
Being defensive is most certainly not scummish?
Both a villager and a scum would defend themselves and what actions/courses they take and you cannot deny it. I will reveal the secret that you have not yet discovered through that many posts: Both benefit from defending themselves; if you defend yourself for wrong/vague/weird/hidden reasons that's where you start seeing "scum". By explaining that it was merely a retaliation vote I'm now scum? It was not meaningless, I picked him because he picked me.
Explain vote --> suspicious
Vote no explanation --> suspicious
Now you tell me I tried hard, how are those few lines hard? with 1.9k posts you must have seen longer walls of text and even the kinds going against each other. I've been rather calm.

Note what i specifically said: "not a town mindset."
If you were actually town, you'd have NOT felt the need to add that promise to remove your vote. In my experience, your promise feels solidly like fencesitting, where you say "Oh, i want to vote, but don't worry, it means nothing." That's a scum mindset to me.
I'd have excepted a townie to defend themselves AFTER the fact, when questioned about it. Instead you anticipate the questioning-meaning you already see it as suspicious- and preemptively defend, neutering the purpose of your vote in the first place. That's a scum mindset to me.
OMGUS votes in RVS IS NOT SCUMMY. OMGUS votes where you then say "oh, don't worry, this vote means nothing." IS SCUMMY.
