With 9 alive, it's 5 to lynch.

The deadline for Day 1 is in (expired on 2014-03-01 23:59:59).

What about mutts post makes you feel like he is town? It seems to me a lot of what he has posted are common sense inquiries that anyone could have came up with. Definitely nothing to me that could be considered as a scum or town feel.

In post 48, Graeyfurredmutt wrote:What would the mafia do today. My assumption is that they would naturally want to just let the town make a wild guess and hit a townie so as to attract minimal attention to themselves. The more active and obvious someone is the easier it is to analyze them and find the small hints. So that would leave us with a question of what are they actually doing. I personally prefer as mafia to have the group be diverse. While being just helpful enough to not look bad and just quiet enough to not be obvious is probably the safest, assuming people don't look there first due to anticipating strategies, it's not the most useful. Being a leader of the town can be quite profitable for the mafia. So what do you think?
Scum would not come right out and say this and be this transparent

What I'm trying to do is to increase discussion so we have some data to go off of, this is innately town positive in my opinion (which is why I'm doing it by the way) however it wouldn't be that hard to do town positive things as a mafia it just has more risk involved. I'm assuming any reads stated so far are very hazy do to our lack of information. I do however notice that no one has actually responded to the content of my post.

What mafia do varies by the person.

Some people go high-risk high-reward (Cabd is an example, the dude gambits like a motherfucker and it pays off in dividends)

Some go low-risk (I do that, I try to stay in townreads and don't worry about who gets lynched)

Overall it's a variety of paystyle. Trying to find one central thing that all scum do is like trying to find a flavor of ice cream everyone will like

What do you tend to do as mafia? I originally tended to be on the lurker side of things when I first played mostly because I had no idea what to say but with more experience I would try to be a "contributing" if somewhat unimportant member of town.

No member of town is unimportant, Mutt. Numbers and our votes and our discussion is our advantages over scum.

My goal as mafia is to emulate my town meta.

I have apathy issues occasionally, and it really shines through with my mafia side so much that I will just keep prod dodging

If someone slips describing their own scum meta then policy hammer them immediately.

I'll jump on this burn wagon, let's get to L-1

What do you mean slips describing their scum meta?

Derphammer is a risk I guess but the people here seem to be of a higher stndard

I was kinda being facetious with that comment. For instance if I said something like "As town I am really quiet and one of the least frequent posters but as scum I like to lead wagons and post a lot". I should be policy lynched for stupidity

But yeah, I haven't actually been scum yet. But I would just try to play my town meta as best as I could. i.e stay active and try to pressure on multiple people.

I like this post.

Town points for you

This one not so much. Justifying the risk on the derphammer on a judgement call that in a NEWBIE game, that we are 3 pages into, that we have players here that are a higher standard isnt very smart. But hey one vote is always one vote closer to a townie lynch right scum?

VOTE: NOT MAFIA

So let me try this reading thing out.... I want a look at NoSci:

So quickly starting wagons and trying to get one going so early seems very scum to me... is it not a strat to try and get a wagon going and hope that it goes all the way? Seems logical and especially with a newb game where votes might fly easily. This makes sense to me, and has NoSci not tried to do this twice now, bailing on the last one could be a bluff, letting the wagon get some more speed before then pushing it over the top.

Also the idea of a Newb flailing is interesting. This will give a lot of information and could be entertaining to watch but surely if that person is town the Mafia know this and then they know that the info wont help the townies to much, but might allow a mafia lynch.

Now I honestly have no idea what I am doing but hey, its better have stabs in the dark than no stabs at all right?
