People tend to post defensive posts when people are attacking them and asking for answers.
I'll admit I was brusque - the attacks on me seemed immensely silly and not worth much time.
If I'd spent more time on them wouldn't I have just been less brusque but have even more defensive posting?
fwiw, regardless of nauci slot alignment, it's pretty important to wincon to get townread in presumed MYLO since a ML there loses it for town, and a correct lynch makes life much more difficult for scum.

More seriously, though, it's fundamentally helpful to your development to try and work through solving the game state in dead thread with as little extra informaiton as possible. Figure out what you think and why, and then you can go back and see what you were right and wrong about, and WHY you were right or wrong, and you can start to work on refining your instincts to become a better gamesolver (and in that vein, I almost recommend that you ask to /in to some dead threads on day one in games you aren't involved on at all, and try and guess who you think is town and scum and why)

I just feel like I've been greatly disappointing this game and I feel really bad about it.
Usually I'm one of the most tryhard town posters, and this time I really had life get in my way. I have a notes file that's currently up to 500 words, but I never post anything because every time I was 5 pages from being caught up, there were 5 more.
This game had too many wall posters and it was really really difficult to catch up on, too.
Brass is reliably great at posting though, so I don't feel as bad as if I had been replaced by a more lurky player.
Also yeah I wrote that in way to maintain the thread's unspoiled status and will be continuing to do so until my slot flips.
It was simply astonishing that I wasn't punished for lurking this heavily though. I personally hound lurkers pretty hard, and feel terrible that I was guilty of it this time. Perfect is the enemy of the good, because now my notes document is useless.

This is super fun to do. When I skim games for meta, I often skim day 1 w/o reading flips.
I highly recommend reading through the Team Mafia tiebreaker game that I was in. It was specifically formatted to be spoiler free from day to day so you could guess, too.

Announce the page you're currently on.
Post the info you have.
Problem solved?
Would it be weird?
Is it more or less weird than not posting?
I submit it would not be weird.
It's my chosen method if I'm behind and the game is racing away - some content, even content ten pages behind, is so vastly superior to no content that they're not even in the same galaxy.
Also, if you're skimming enough to note major changes happening, than comment on those changes, even if you are skimming.
Reset your page location, say "here's what I had, but by skimming I see *this* has happened, here are my initial thoughts on *this*."
I just kept underestimating the amount of free time I had
I'd block out 2 hours at a time for catch up and only make it 1/4 of the way through the thread somehow, and kept thinking I can get to it tonight, and things kept coming up.
Glad I replaced out though. I pulled an all nighter trying to get a dude out of Egyptian prison and have been working 12 hr days otherwise
Oh no I was in the comfort of my living room filling out human rights violation reports with various international organizations, because I was one of the few people in his following awake when he hastily gave us the update.

1. If someone is lurking, there is probably a lack of posts to argue their alignment with either direction.
2. Thus far two non lurkers have been lynched.
3. I don't think anyone is actually advocating lynching his slot for lurking.
There are six unflipped slots in the game (5 from nauci's perspective). Try writing out a quick scum case on the various slots, and think through which you find most convincing and why (possibly where you have a strong TR talk about why you strong TR there instead). I may do this exercise as well, partially because writing up fake scum cases on slots you know to be town, and seeing how people react to that, is a very useful scum skill to be developing (and I do need to work on my wolf game a bit, even if I did recently have a damn good one in hydra 5 )

Also casting a day 1 vote for the day 2 mislynch and then not following it up on day 2 is SUPER wolf-indicative
being off of two mislynches that were very consensus-y is wolf-indicative rather than town-indicative. Meji being the CW on day 2 dampens that a bit, but "wasn't on the d1 lynch" in particular is NOT town-indicative for meji.
