The true art of this game is the not-so-subtle-but-enveloped-in-a-mafia-game-so-you're-not-looking-for-it commentary on the American political system though

Worth noting that the electoral college system is plagued by gerrymandering. It's unquestionably a bad thing for democracy for exactly the reasons that it gives scum an edge in this game. Just, in real life it's the political elite who do the gerrymandering.

if it's such a bad thing with so many issues that are that obvious, what are the arguments for it?

It pretty much just goes back to America's founding fathers though and nobody would change it because the system kinda benefits the two parties of the two party system which will probably never relinquish the power it gives them

You might be thinking "Gee, jjh927 sure is talking out of his ass. Nobody's changing the borders of places" but it's the way these things were originally set up and general political sentiment tied to locations still carries from hundreds of years ago

i can understand -some- argument for an electoral college system existing (even if outdated), but i don't understand the gerrymandering part

Gerrymandering is just a general thing with any kind of regional based voting system

There is no argument for it being a good thing and to my knowledge it doesn't happen in America any more. It's just a thing that some people in positions of power do to secure more power

BTW, let's just have another look at the game because I haven't analysed the districts for today in here yet and things are heating up now

that is certainly something i would never do

tbh i am surprised people think claiming third party as scum is a good idea

you always lynch third party claims sooner rather than later because (1) they have no incentive to help town unless it suits them (it may now, it may not later), and (2) scum fake-claim third party a lot (when they're in trouble)

so it strikes me as odd when i see scum do it because it's basically an "ive given up" last resort hail mary

i can't even remember the last time i saw claiming third party work out for scum. i think ive seen it work once or twice ever
