I think it's possible, but not to the degree as you and po. He seems to prefer to keep his partners around and town read them rather than bus. And Holden's side of the interaction looks particularly non-partnery. In particular, 297, 272, 271 (bottom), and 179. With regard to 179, if they were going for theatre strategy, I don't think holden would have town read him there and up to that point.
