That’s not inherently true, since Town could still remove the Tracker/Jailkeeper target anyways if no kills happen. In post 498, RH9 wrote:@DaTacoX To be fair, a No Kill could have let you did what MargotRosa did. (In other words, let yourself live for longer.)

I felt bad that I didn't call out the autowin myself, since I knew the setup while Meg didn't. However, I suppose the consolation is that there would be a nonzero chance that Taco would've claimed Tracker and throw a spanner in the works had I done so. Meg softclaiming and me claiming as a townlock cinched the win.- hops

Congrats to town and thanks to the mod for hostingAlso, what is Not_Mafia doing? This is some of the worst play I’ve ever seen.I will SEARCH for games with you and N_M to help you policy him.I can't remember the last N_M post that wasn't bland, unimaginative and lame. Some shitposters are at least somewhat funny. You are the epitomy of the type of poster that nobody would miss if you were to suddenly disappear. You never add anything of value.- Jake The Wolfie

Rule #1 of playing with Not_Mafia: Policy KeeeeeeelShow"I'm sorry that you put asbestos in your coffee."
"All dictionaries aught to have one typo."
Here's some text to break up all the links in my sig.
Currently my favorite role I've seen in a Normal.

Haa, I tend to play pretty much the same regardless of role, although I've been on a long VT streak lately. The difference you saw was owed primarily due to it being day 1 vs me replacing in on a later day - when I have more info to work with I get more proactive, on day 1 I'm more laid back, especially in a quiet game like this one.In post 495, DaTacoX wrote: You’re right that I killed catboi partially because I saw what he could do, but I also did it because he was playing more passive so I figured he might have been a power role.
The game immediately became impossible for me to win after not_mafia died anyways.
My only hope was to kill the investigative role night 1 which didn’t happen.
And yeah, unfortunately there is not a lot you can do when you lose a partner day 1 like that. I personally can't really PR hunt at all, so I don't have much advice to give you there - in newbie games sometimes people will give VT tells, but that's about it as far as what I know. I think a no-kill on night 1 might have actually been the more viable gameplan to avoid the potential mechanical autoloss situation you wound up in, but I haven't actually checked myself to see if that works in the setup we were in.
I don't think that's entirely by accident - while staying in the background can often help avoid attention early, in the long term it doesn't add up to a workable gameplan, as with eventually the town is likely to turn around and look for new targets, as there were enough people who decided Greeting or Jake were town that we moved to new targets. It was a bit lucky that changing to Not_Mafia happened to be correct, in general I think passive play as scum tends not to win, and it works better to be proactive. In post 504, hops wrote:Also RIP scum for being really stealthy this game and then dying to bullshit.- catboi
