I also figured that everyone would invite after I quickhammered and everyone went quiet, but that didn't happen?

Me, too.

All I ask is that you use it. If you're still alive come D7 (assuming it comes), you can give me dirty looks postgame since IIRC you don't really want to shoot.
In post 5029, Garuda wrote:I'm playing marathon games, and saw your reaction was adequately town.
That (and the post right below this) doesn't explain why you unvoted?
not town like the above but not people I'd prefer to see lynched:
Mhork
Harakiri
Molla
In between both categories/I wouldn't really care seeing them lynched, but not a priority:
UD
I suppose anyone else I haven't mentioned.
lynch soon:
ProHawk
Eagle
Nero
Garuda
Good night, everyone. Both in-game and in real life.
And LB, let's just say the problem I had with this game has little to do with the problems I'm having now (though they do overlap). It's something I should've recognized before I joined so I could've stopped myself and just watched, but oh well.

The
Mafia (Left Hand)
team, consisting of Dr. Pepper, Garuda, and zMuffinMan, have won!
The
Mafia (Right Hand)
team, consisting of Lost Butterfly, Nero Cain, and uʍop ǝpısdn, have won!
Spoiler: Unredacted Mafia (Left Hand) Member Role PM
Magua wrote:Hello, XXX!
The free market is fine, but it’s so...inefficient. A shame, really, but from that insight you quickly realized that with the help of a few others who shared your views that this is a turning point, a time of opportunity. Control of the marketplace can lead to all of your dreams coming true; given such a reward, it’s obvious that you’ll do anything to eliminate the competition -- permanently.
You are a
Mafia (Left Hand) Member
, along with your partners YYY and ZZZ.
Nest Egg:
You start the game with $150.
Wage:
At the end of every Day, you will receive $100.
Efficiency Bonus:
You do not receive an efficiency bonus.
Mafia Bonus:
At the end of every Day, $100 is split evenly amongst the living members of your team (any fractions are lost).
Insider Information:
You know that there is another Mafia team, and that you win with them. You do not possess a factional Night-kill; in order to kill, you must win the Night-kill auction.
Daytalk:
You may speak with your partners in the Quicktopic here at any time.
Insider Dealings:
Any money you spend bidding on auctions that are listed in red is counted as 50% more, rounded down. If you win the auction, you are refunded 66% of the unused amount, rounded down. As an example, if you bid $50 on
Night-kill x 1
, it is treated as $75. If you win for $40, you will receive (($75 - $40) * 0.66) $23 back.
Dirty Tricks ($$$):
You have a number of dirty tricks at your disposal. Each Night, each member of your team may perform one of these (if desired); however, each Dirty Trick may only be performed once per Night. The first Dirty Trick is free; each subsequent use costs $25 more (so the second Dirty Trick costs $25, the third costs $50, etc). Dirty Tricks are not treated as targeted abilities; they cannot be roleblocked, and will not appear on Tracker or Watcher reports.
Wire Fraud:
Name two players, a transferer and a transferee. Any money that the transferer would transfer to the transferee during this Night will instead go to the member of your team who used this power.
Lockout:
Name a target player and a current auction. Any bid made by the targeted player for that auction is cancelled and treated as if it had not occurred. The targeted player will be notified of this only if they bid on that auction.
Countermeasures:
Name a target player, a targeted ability name, and a target. If that player attempts to use that ability on that target during this same Night, it will be roleblocked.
Shell Game ($$$):
At any point during the Night, you may spend $50 to transfer some or all usages of one of your abilities amongst your team as desired. They may be used by the recipients that same Night.
Money:
Each Night, you may spend any or all of your money on the following activities:
Bid:
Bid on abilities being auctioned off in the marketplace. Described in Section III.
Transfer:
Choose another player. If that player is on your team, they will immediately receive 95% (round down) of what you transferred. Otherwise, they will receive it the following Night (note that this is a different rate than the Entrepreneur’s Transfer).
Advertise:
Influence what abilities will be auctioned off in the marketplace the following Night. Described in Section IV.
Fakeclaim:
The Entrepreneur Role PM is posted in the thread. If you give me specific game mechanics, I will write the relevant PM for you incorporating those elements with proper flavor and styling. In addition upon request I will verify that your math for fake wages, auctions, transfers, etc complies with all publicly known rules.
You win with the
Mafia
: You win when all the players alive have the Mafia win condition, and there is at least one player alive.
As a service to you, the valued player, I can set up a QT for your personal use instead of PMs. Let me know if you wish to take advantage of this offer.
The game thread is here. In order to confirm, please reply to this PM with any advertising you wish to do (if any). After everyone has replied, the game will proceed into Night 0.
The Mafia (Right Hand) Member Role PM is exactly the same, substituting Right Hand for Left Hand.
Mod thoughts in a moment.
List of all auction information / Night actions needs to be formatted, and will be a bit.

I'd act surprised that Lost Butterfly was scum but that was pretty damn obvious the entire game >_>
Good game scum! Thanks for running it Magua.

Replacements:
A big thank you to my replacements. Even with the size of the game and the heavy mechanical nature, my replacements (well, those who didn't turn around and replace out) stepped up and took it on, and I appreciate that. Thank you.
The Mass Transfer Plan:
This had happened in the previous game, and turned what would've been a simple steamroll for the Town into an outright scum massacre. One of the design goals of this version was to make such a thing less tenable -- this is the combination of the scum's Dirty Tricks, as well as their improved ability to win auctions that are antitown in nature.
The plan enacted here did not help the town at all, and again, my opinion, hurt it quite a it.
Jumping back to the previous game, I'll restate what I said there: The mafia in Marketplace 2 could've won every auction, and it wouldn't've mattered because they were on everyone's scum lists and were going to get lynched regardless, more or less. That wasn't the case here -- two of the six in the plan were scum, and two more (Garuda and zMuffinMan) were never on the Town's collective scumlist or in danger of being lynched.
So the plan's actual effects were as so:
- Give scum more money,
- Concentrate the town's money in a few people, who could then be Locked Out or shot (there were Nights when either pieguyn or PeregrineV could've won Cop or Night-kill, but since the scum knew that they had the money, they were simply prevented from bidding on those auctions, and/or shot)
- Remove any threat that any of the people other than the six would win auctions or have to be considered as anything but mislynchable by the scum
Deadlines (in general):
My assumption at the start of the game was that, aside from Deadline Days, the Town would lynch with 5-7 days remaining, getting roughly $75-$85 per Day. That never happened; Town never lynched faster than 10 days in, and only got an Efficiency Bonus (ie, lynching more than 24 hours from deadline) once in the entire game. This hurt mechanically, but I also think it was a sort of malaise over the Town as a whole. When you've got the scum in their QTs complaining about the slowness of the game, that's problematic. But scum took out Town leaders and the rest of the game just sort of ground on; there would be movement or energy on a wagon but then it would fizzle out until deadline approached, and then -- this was the part I sighed at -- the wagon would simply complete. It's not like competing wagons would jump up or new information would come out -- the same wagon from a week ago would then get hammered, meaning that all the time in between had been wasted.
Deadline (the ability):
This ability should not have both lowered the clock *and* the Efficiency Bonus. Really should've been one or the other. My bad.

Quick action note: The Left Hand Mafia shot Lost Butterfly N1, resulting in the no kill. Beyond that, there was no contact between the Mafia teams at all during the entire game.
(The Right Hand Mafia did Cop zMuffinMan at some point, but it was a night he was using Investigation Immunity. Lulz were had.)
