Pooky tried to solve the puzzle. Because he tried to solve the puzzle, he came up with a solution and is persueing it.
You haven't tried to the solve the puzzle. I don't think you want to. Anyone could be scum after all! You don't really seem interested in who is actually scum or who is actually town. You just think anyone is possible but you're not making the effort to try to identify who it is.
