World Congress

Open Debate
(Day 4 - Update 8.1)

On Day 4, all players receive 3 delegates for assignment in the World Congress.
The Host receives an additional 3 delegates, for a total of 6 delegates.

World Congress resolutions may be affecting these numbers.

Your resolutions for open debate on Day 3 are:

Spoiler:
World ReligionThe time has come to declare an official World Religion, which will grant modest benefits to those who have been converted to it and encourage internal faith dialogue at the nation-state level. When assigning delegates to
support or oppose a specific World Religion
, please specify the desired
Religion
. Examples include, but are not limited to: [
Atheism, Paganism, Unitarian Universalism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism, Islam, Taoism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Pastafarianism, Scientology
] If successful, this resolution will be enacted
permanently
, and must be repealed for any effects to be disabled.

International Games ~ (Thor665)The time has come to celebrate on a global scale, rather than punish. If proposed for debate, utilizes the World Congress as a committee-of-the-whole to discuss a specific Civilization's sponsoring of international competition in a variety of sports, games, and disciplines. The desired
Sponsor of the International Games
has been specified beforehand, and
Thor665
must publicly release a list of events for their "International Games". Assign delegates
supporting or opposing
the Sponsor specified. If a player is specified as the Sponsor, they
may
assign delegates to themselves. This resolution
may
be enacted consecutively. (
This resolution will most likely result in diplomatic as well as economic benefits for the Sponsor.
)

Remember, only the HEAL: and HURT: tags will be counted as valid delegate assignments for resolutions, for "support" and "oppose" respectively. Be sure to specify which resolution you are supporting or opposing when assigning delegates. Players will be notified in-thread if their delegate assignment is invalid for any reason.

dont want pidgey on that for latter days.

I don't agree with the olympics thing. I think they're an unnecessary risk.

HURT: nay for international games x 3

Can you explain why you think it's an unnecessary risk?

Posted: Sun Apr 29, 2018 3:28 am
by BuJaber
It's in my ISO.

Basically thor hasn't read everything I'm not sure I would trust him to make the best decisions. Also we don't know if the games would have the same effect as last time (flavor only +extra delegates for pidgey) .. this time it might not be flavor only. I don't think we need the extra delegates anyway. We can pick anybody we want for host which keeps the extra delegates and has a lot of delegates so as long as the host is town it will be very difficult for scum to go against the town in congress voting.

Fair enough. Thor did mention being lost, and it seems he seems to be close to being replaced sadly.

Brass and Pidgey, if Gamma and Thor don't post tonight, feel free to join the Mark wagon.

How about no?

Still haven’t caught up had car issues but this wagon is bullshit. Lead by scum to get rid of me so they can kill conf!town. It goes against what conf!town wants and is simply a smear campaign because I think Shaziro is the SK.

Or because you're incredibly scummy, your arguments are all absolutely garbage because you're desperate to not lose as scum, and you're not this bad a player typically.

What's the logic that Mark is scum considering you all seem to think he's pushing to get a town Vig lynched?

Whats's the Klazam case? I'd tend to support that just on a lark.

Why Titus & Mark are Orange Scum
:

Titus's vote on Gamma is weird, here: #49. I ask her why she voted Gamma, and this is her response: #251. She doesn't give a convincing reason to be on Gamma, which reads as fake. In her #299, she responds to me but not to my entire substance. I feel like she couldn't actually respond, so that was part of why she was posting less during mid game of D1. Her #460 didn't have a solid conclusion for leaving Gamma. In her #521, she responds to Pidgey's town read of me, which stinks of scum trying to shoot down correct town reads by giving a counter point. Titus follows Varsoon in her #619, which is her orange mate. In her #1000 she states she was busy, but I think it's more her motivation. She started early and seemed to be steering things and then didn't do much afterwards, which shows she was only doing it for show. Her #3399 isn't believable, she hasn't really had much progression there, she voted Gamma after Chara did, but never really stated why nor has she stated a confident read. Again, it seemed like it was for show.

Mark's #4340 is weird. To me it seems like he was aware of the thread and when he sees myself start catching up. His #4345 feels disingenuous to me. He asks me for my current thoughts, and I give them and that just seems like such a calculated response. After I have interacted with him about it, he's never gave a conclusion on me, and gave this response to why: #5131. He states I would sort myself out later, clearly leaves out a read so that he can come back to that later. #5176 #5177 Here, after being proved wrong that Shaziro cannot be SK, Mark finally moves to me without any solid reasoning or backing whatsoever. This is the definition of backing down, but at an opportunistic time. Let's rewind, he's had me as 'you'll be sorted later' for this very opportunity that he might be proved wrong. Now, this all reads as him not caring to actually determine alignment, but rather pick and choose a target, and tunnel, until it's not feasible to push anymore and switch when it's time. It doesn't seem organic to me. It would be in Orange's best interest to avoid a red scum lynch, and this is what it seems like Mark is doing. Either push Shaziro or anyone not Klazam.

That case has, like, zero teeth as far as I can see.
It literally look like a glorified OMGUS.

If he was going to sort you later, then it's perfectly reasonable to vote you after his attitude shift on a wagon he's been hard pushing.

I go back to - if everyone thinks he was pushing a town Vig lynch, why do they think he's scum?

Brass, I see you posting around. Talk to me. I want you on the Mark wagon with me.

Thor, literally read Mark's content, and the really shitty cases they are making in an attempt to get a mislynch. "YOU SAID ONE IN THAT POST, YOU WERE SOFT CLAIMING ONE SHOT". For fuck's sake, that's worse than the "soft-guilty" on Gamma was, and I had information that basically confirmed it to be bullshit the whole time it was bein' bandied about! Like, read the slot. Read my responses to the slot and my arguments that I've made many times for why they're scum.

Thor: You would have a point if I didn't have any progression on Titus or Mark. He was already sorting me before, when he was 'catching' up. He never followed up with me, and hasn't tried to interact with me until I forced him to. He says it was due to crunch time, that he didn't interact with me, and I don't buy that response. Now, what is your read on Mark, with reasoning.
