the matrix setup needs to be changed to having a watcher instead of a tracker. HUGE disadvantage there.

Thanks to everyone for playing, especially the replacements. Well done to the mafia!
PEdit: I think the doctor/watcher combo would be really dangerous.

Doc/Watcher is really OP, I find fault with that combination every time I see it.

I'll leave it up to the mafia to release the mafia QT if they wish.
I KNEW IT!!!!!! I KNEW IT!!!!! I CALLED NUMBER_ONE SCUM DAY ONE!!!!

Ill admit. i played the newb card for number0ne.

Thats a big reason I dont like newbie games. I tend to give newer players newb cards for scummy things they do. meh.

Flay, your initial attack on me on page two, that was just to facilitate conversation right? that wasnt serious eh?

jmo, remind me, weren't you in the game where DoubleJD was given the n00b card and turned out to be scum who one the game?
NEVER give newb cards, ESPECIALLY when a dead player calls them scum and was calling them scum before hand.
This is why I've taken to looking at dead players reads. Often times it helps catch scum. (The fact that Flay missed me being put to L-1 as did I should have set off warning bells.)

I don't remember that game.. haha.
Flay's lol hammer day one was particular bothering. That's why i tracked him. Then, stupidly i realized that he probably wouldnt be doing the night action. Same with number0ne. I really wanted to punch number when he didn't wait for the replacement. which is where i was like NEWB move. bah. thats aggravating.
Upon Geranium replacing, I found he was rather town with his immediate attacking of flay. I still thought flay was town though. Like I said through the game, the duck never really stuck out to me. he was just there. number was just odd.

Ok, quick post. To apologise to town for being a horrible, horrible replacement.
No idea why today went on as long as it did though.
Will post more later, about 12 hours time.

I tracked you last night.
Sorry for making it last longer then necessary, we forgot to discuss how we were going to do this with regards to voting, and I really didn't want to disrupt the 1v1 that was going on by refusing to move my vote, so I got scared and unvoted
That was a nasty surprise indeed, thought we were dead for sure
and TAM, I can now answer your RVS question, I enjoy town more I think, going crazy trying to figure out scumteams is more fun then searching for little things you can twist in your advantage, and I kind of feel bad for nightkilling..
Lastly, three of you have said that my presence in game was bearly felt.. any suggestions/tips on how to fix that?

I'm fine with giving out the scum QT, so if you don't mind either Number, go ahead and share it

Well, when I hammered, I actually wasn't thinking about the extension. It had completely slipped my mind.
As for when The-Duck voted the 1st time, I was fairly annoyed with myself over it, because I went to check the topic 10 minutes after he unvoted.

Don't let your memory get selective, TAM. You called his buddy town and paired him with zakk, who died quickly. There's a reason we didn't go back to your D1 suspicions... it's easy to call somebody scum once and be right, the trick is to
actually get them lynched
.
jmo16mla wrote:Flay, your initial attack on me on page two, that was just to facilitate conversation right? that wasnt serious eh?
Well I did think your suggestion of RVS after RQS was dumb/scummy, but yes , I just wanted to get the game rolling and start collecting reactions. I wouldn't have lynched you for that.
geraintm wrote:Ok, quick post. To apologise to town for being a horrible, horrible replacement.
geraintm: you were fine, you inherited the Town Lurker spot and jumped WAY too fast to voting in LyLo, especially for voting somebody that most everyone else had a Town read on and a good arguer to boot. There was no way I was going to switch my vote to Number or Duck before the quicklynch started, your behavior was too counterproductive to read as Town, even though I acknowledged there was a possibility we were TvT.
Ugh. Too many quirky town let lurker scum skate by. And you guys
REALLY did lurk, but we had enough going on to never quite focus on the lurking problem... TAM's obsession with RQS, notsci's obsession with townbloc, my terrible D1 hammer... still, 69 posts for both of you, combined? Sheesh. This is why you pressure lurkers to contribute.
Still, you guys did good enough to pull off the win, so congrats. I don't even fault you for your caution in LyLo voting...getting caught in an attempted quickhammer is the WORST. Ask notsci sometime.

I'll try to be more active, I guess that will also come with some more experience, now I don't know what to post about (and it was quite worse as scum)
Geraintm, I don't think you were a bad replacement, replacing in seems quite difficult and reading the thread at once makes you more prone to confirmation bias and tunneling i guess
Flay, I really liked your first case on Jmo, that felt like a very good way to start a game, RVS feels so awkward and this transition was quite effective
Do you guys have any advise on how to improve my play?
I wondered, why don't have scum daytalk in newbies? does that unbalance the set up too much or something?
DeasVail, Thanks for hosting this game, the flavour was cool as well

Daytalk conveys a small advantage on scum, in that it allows them to coordinate to changing events more efficiently and rapidly (it also gives them a small disadvantage, since that coordination can be detected). But it makes LyLo trivially easy to manage... just lurk in the thread, plot your votes in daytalk, and BAM. Since Newbie Games are so small and tend to go to LyLo so often, it would shift them to an even higher scum win percentage.
