“The imagination is a weapon. Those who don't use it die first.” - Kumo Kagyu
I would like to thank each one of you for the game. I would like to congratulate the town for their superb display of scum-hunting (out of first three executes, two out of three landed on scum, and drove one scum to suicide), and I would like to thank the scum team for not giving up despite the massive setback very early in the game. As fferyllt pointed out at the start of the game, this game drew inspirations from 4nxiety's Death's Diner. I loved the concept of the dethy mini-game in a larger scope of the Large Theme, and finally decided to implement the idea. The notable feature of dethy is that the cop sanity aren't flipped upon death, which makes calibration very difficult if the dethy loses members early on. It's generally a good idea to add additional killing mechanics to speed up the game in Larges, so I included a Miller Lover Masons with a vig shot. I had debated between giving groupscum a single 1-shot vigilante and triple suicide bombers, and ultimately decided on the latter, as I believed that it would offer more flexibility in hands of a skilled scum team with finesse in fakeclaiming. (As Bell said in the scum PT, a good use of a Suicidal Bomber role would be to fakeclaim a guilty of some kind on a town player, then exploding in the night) To aid the fakeclaims, I had left all other town slots as VTs to open up the possible PR claim-space to prevent PR fakeclaims from accidentally doubling up.
There is an old saying among the mods in this site that says that the most important role of the setup is always the first to be killed. The traitor rolecop of the Questionable Balcony is certainly the crucial setpiece of this setup. Not only you're sitting on a ticking time bomb of getting eventual POE'd, forcing your every post with the knowledge that they will be re-analyzed by town players once you flip, but you have to come up with a way to communicate what's happening in the dethy to the groupscum without getting caught. It's a slot that demands a very high level of skill and execution from its player, and I was very sad to see that slot go day 1. The town members of the dethy takes a huge risk lynching one of their own during day 1, as it: reveals the existence and the full player composition of the dethy to the scum team, loss of a potentially confirmed town player, and loss of possibly valuable investigative results by losing one of the cops. (It was known that the flips will not include sanity.) I am very proud of fferyllt and Syryana for deciding to pull the trigger and not letting Tayl0r get away with crumbing traitor in their 2nd post of the game. Executing within the dethy in day 1 takes a lot of guts to do so since the penalty is massive, and ffery and Syr must have been absolutely sure about their call. The payoff for such a high-risk high reward was huge, and Town managed to create a 4 men mason-group containing at least two useful cops going into Night 1.
With such a massive Town-lead going into day 2, I wasn't sure how much fight the scum team is going to put up. Cabd and Something_Smart decided to fast play their cards and claim on the second day, as this would draw night kills away from the cops as well as increase the Day 2 execute accuracy by confirming more players as town. Cabd played his role with bravado, and with the resulting 6 men mason-group, this would have driven many scum team into panic. Claiming a full vigilante all but ensured that Cabd + S_S will not survive the night, which was exactly what Cabd and S_S wanted since they judged the dethy to be more valuable than themselves. Also notably, during day 2, Pooky also made a powerful gambit with her mason-lover fakeclaim with town-Alisae. Him prepping the claim with crumbs from day 1 and playing the role just right under interrogation was stellar. Bell was, by his account, floundering, but he still managed to push off his attackers enough to safely make it to Night 2. DiamondSentinel took more of an obtuse take on the gamestate coupled with his obstinate setup speculations, and this solidified his towncred enough for the scum team to dodge an execute (and an incoming vig-shot).
During the night 2, scum team had a real decision to make regarding suicidal shots. After the first flip of the suicidal bomber, the town may not let the scum get away with more outlandish claims, so it was important to make it count. Bell decided to sacrifice himself, which turned out to be a fantastic move as he was being targeted by dethy and would have been guilty'd. The dethy was not able to salvage a single useful investigation from Night 2, except to affirm Tammy's sanity. (Sane) This was an excellent move by Bell, and it was potentially the most tempo-gaining move possible during Night 2 from the scum team.
Rest of the days panned out as fairly expected. DiamondSentinel went down quickly, and with the remaining scum behind a mason claim, town was forced to execute a string of town players. If I were personally in the Pooky's position, I would have shot Alisae, to "prove" that the scum didn't know that the doc-lover claim was fake, and try to use that knowledge to survive the remaining game rounds while killing off the rest of the cops. Otherwise, you get penned in to an impossible situation of being unable to shoot the remaining cop as long as you were alive. (This situation also does not arise IF Tammy the last remaining cop was Paranoid or Naive, so this was a stroke of luck for town) I wonder if playing up the godfather angle would have worked? (this is something the endgame players can answer) Either way, Pooky ran out of room to maneuver and was eventually executed for the town win. Congratulations to DrippingGoofball for replacing in and making the game-winning execute for town! Thanks for playing it out to the end, Pooky!

@Tammy
I feel like I should apologize for my D6 if you're reading this.
tbh, I kinda don't really know where I went wrong, and I honestly feel like that is really not good
I just know that I was really out of line in how I acted and I shouldn't have acted like that.
I'm sorry.
In post 5721, Alisae wrote:Hey DGB, what do you think of this? Do you think this is a strong enough reason for a villager who only has the information in their role pm that they are town, to fakeclaim mason lovers with another villager?
Well
Once in a hydra with kuribo... we fakeclaimed mason with dramonic... we were town and so was he!
I think playing the traitor in this setup is super fun

I honestly feel like Cabd might have overplayed his hand a bit too early but I mean it worked
it got Pooky to make a really big mistake which is the doctor claim.
The way he maintained that claim and kept the doctor part unchanged kinda sticks out like a sore thumb

I genuinely think that the godfather angle wouldn't matter in F3.
The decider in F3 needs to be able to justify who they think is most likely going to be scum given the events that happened in the game.

I was considering killing Alisae but Tammy's distaste for "fake-claims" made it unlikely I would survive such a move.
I kept Alisae alive for two reasons, Alisae probably thought I was more town than anybody else in the remaining player group and I felt Alisae/Tammy/Pooky was a more winnable F3 than anything else.
DGB has more experience with me than others and was right to suspect that I was up to no good :3 by the time she replaced in I could not change course.
Overall this was an exhilarating game and a very fun dance - thanks to Alisae and the rest of the players =]
Esp to FakeGod who kept convincing me to never give up when things looked hopeless and lost and being a fantastic mod

Dude, you played one hell of a game. The doc game wasn't bad at the time but you held it together and made it solo for what, three day phases? Would play again with you anytime <3
