Actually, that's a fallacy. While scumhunting may be rolefishing, not all rolefishing is scumhunting. Yours falls in to the latter category. In response to your question, posting something really scummy then a bunch of null posts doesn't usually make me feel less confident in my read. I disagree that I'm just sheeping, but that's not really a scum tell from you, I don't think. Unless it was an OMGUS attack brought on by my beginning to push you. I agree it's annoying, but not necessarily scummy. From your research, either 2 or 3 of the instances you pointed out of self-voting were done by townies (the third example wasn't very clear). Furthermore, from my own experience, self-voting has, at best, no correlation with a player being scum, and a lot more to do with players getting irritated.

Not a lot of his posts seem to be wanting to look town, Posts 31 and 36-42 in particular seem to actually be town-like, other parts, the parts the people on his wagon are pushing the most, seem, although misguided, not especially scummy.

No, i wanted him to comment on the unvote, it was mostly use a AtE 'gambit' to see how he would react to it, he didn't do anything at all and it didn't seem like it affected him, i wanted to get content out of him seeing if he would comment on it, i still haven't got anything out of it and i haven't got much of anything else either.
