Step one: pregame, everyone receives their role pm, minus flavour. (Including myself)
Step two: I choose everyone’s flavour.
Step three: just before day 1 starts, everyone’s including myself, receives a second pm telling them their assigned role flavour.

That reply was to "Why does it matter?" I wanted to make sure it would matter before actually putting some work in. Not that I necessarily believe it matters, but it was worth asking.

It isn't necessarily negative utility. It is actually fairly positive utility. But it is negative utility if people do not know how to interpret their results.

I mean like... I used the word NEAR which should be able to explain the proximity to end of day. It's not "We are about to hit the end of day" "End of day is about to happen" "End of day is TOMORROW". We are NEAR the end of day. Which is at 6a.m. on Monday.
